  1. Paraphrasing... We're stupid for for feeling emotional after the loss. Streveler sucks. We would have won if Nichols was in. We're stupid for having opinions. Condescension. Derision. Self righteousness. A little extra condescension for good measure.
  2. I simply may not have noticed but I'll be damned if I can remember the last time a Bomber QB called an audible. I do recall other teams QBs doing it but for the life of me I can't remember Matt or Chris doing it.
  3. Up-voted for "terminal stupidity" and "moribund"
  4. Right. So while he may have provided a general direction he didn't give him a road map. I'm just at a loss to explain/understand why you wouldn't keep playing the game that got you the lead. I guess that's why I'm not a professional coach.
  5. Well...according to the accepted laws of physics the expansion of the universe should have slowed, stopped and began to retract at some point. Instead it continues to accelerate to the point that cosmologists theorize that at some point in the distant future our descendants will look skyward and not see one single star. In short...the universe doesn't make any more sense than this team.
  6. Fair enough...but can O'Shea not just say, "listen...no more of this easing off with a lead. We keep playing the game that got us the lead even if it means embarrassing teams"? Or am I being naive?
  7. Honestly. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.
  8. Yeah you are probably 100% on that tbh...and I suppose it isn't realistic to expect any player to call out anyone for the failings we continue to experience...but damn it I'd sure like MOS to provide some perspective or take some responsibility. This is really the part that sticks in so many craws...definitely mine. We finally have the talent yet continue to experience the same troubling issues.
  9. No, just 25 out of 30 min of the offensive play calling in the 2nd half...unless O'Shea had more involvement than that. Admittedly I don't pay attention to other coaches post game interviews but O'Shea rarely tells us anything we couldn't have determined for ourselves by watching the game. "Another drive, a few more points in the 2nd half and a stop..." "Pretty good command of the game early but we didn't play the 2nd half like that" "We didn't execute well enough to stop them" "There were some execution issues in that last minute" Duhhh. The only hint of assigning blame or taking responsibility may have been when he said, "As coaches we have to look at what we called and what positions we put guys in...be hard with the grading and make sure we're getting better." Surely this has been done numerous times over the course of the last few years yet doesn't seem to be having the desired effect. As a fan I want to know just how much influence he's having on play calling. If LaPo and Hall are just following a cautious style being determined by him then maybe it's him that needs to get his s*it together...or go. If it's all being determined by the co-ordinators then they need to get it together...or go. The fans that have been supporting this championship-less team for 3 decades have a right to know at whom to direct their ire. We surely deserve more then empty platitudes and cliches about needing to "learn from this and improve". Seeing something like this from Hecht doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence “I wish I knew why. This is the fourth time now we’ve been in a similar situation and three of them we ended up on the wrong side of it and on one we managed to hold on. I don’t know what’s going on and if I did , if anybody did, I guess we would have fixed it before the Labour Day game. “Whether it’s self-scouting or guys self-assessing their own will power or maybe coaches assessing schematics or us as players having a higher sense of awareness for situational football… if you’ve got an idea I’d love to hear it, because four in a row is an ugly habit now so we’ve got to figure out what the hell is going on.”
  10. Confirmation from Biggy, that Adams didn't just swing the helmet...he actually hit him with it
  11. Grew up around Brandon. Live out by Riding Mt. now.
  12. It really is a magical experience when you can introduce someone to the heartbreak that is being a Bomber fan, eh? Nothing like some company for that misery.
  13. I well remember Jack but was clueless on the reference. Never really listened to games on the radio. Reception wasn't always guaranteed where I was so I listened to Whitman call the games on the tube. We used to rag on him as kids for his play calling but I'd trade a bus full of Rod Blacks for him now. He was exceptionally insufferable yesterday.
  14. Glad I asked. I never would have sorted that one out on my own. Thanks.
  15. Impressive. I couldn't get my announcers to implement critiques when it was free let alone be paid for it. Well done. Are you a program director somewhere? Btw...could someone tell me what "HH" stands for?
  16. What does this mean, exactly?
  17. I totally get people feeling dejected and pessimistic after losses like this especially when they are not isolated instances...and I totally get people choosing to remain positive even after losses like this regardless how often they occur. What I will never get is people seeming to taking negative comments directed at the team personally and lashing out at commenters.
  18. Perhaps...but it's not like he would be giving the playbook away by continuing with what has already been succeeding. He didn't need to flip to the back of the playbook in the second half. He just needed to continue with what was already proving successful. Having said that...maybe these opposing DCs are figuring him out after 2 quarters and he's unable/unwilling to counter punch. Pffft...I don't know anymore...honestly...sigh...
  19. I hear ya...honestly...but how do we account for blistering first halves followed by bed shi**ing second halves? It's the same players. Surely they don't forget how to play after taking a 15min break. But we can all see a marked difference in play calling.
  20. Honestly this is what I'm beginning to come back to over and over again recently. In any organization the employees take their cues from management. These are professional co-ordinators...surely they could adjust their patterns if they were encouraged/instructed to by management. If they're not changing then either they are incapable or management doesn't want it/doesn't recognize the need.
  21. Rod Black - "Bombers have this well in hand" PLOP - "Hold my beer" Hall - "Nah...hold MY beer"
  22. This. It's one thing to have an OC that plays conservative with a lead if you have a DC that plays aggressive regardless the score...or vice versa...but to have them both play with the same "safe" attitude is just a recipe for disaster.
  23. The talent is definitely there. I don't think that's what concerns most people.
