Andrew Harris suspended for 2 games

I understand what you're saying...my concern tho is the not-uncommon confirmed instances of cross contamination among supplements. I am in no way an expert on supplements or steroids. Have never taken either ...however...since we know that contamination does happen and is not rare...and we know that in this case the amount detected is not even in the range where it would be at all beneficial...and the player in question has never tested positive prior even having been tested more than most other players...then maybe the evidence should be slightly more substantial to forever place an asterisk next to a player's name. But zero tolerance policies give us no room to consider things like intent which, imo, is not in the spirit of justice. To me this is like a person being accused of rape with the only evidence being a security cam frame of an arm around an alleged victim. There is evidence of an association but none for intent to violate a law. In a case like Harris' an association is all that's needed to confirm guilt. The Jeffery Dahmers of the world aside...it's the reason I can't support a death penalty. Did I not see in the broadcast that capacity was 10,000 and they sold 10,125?

I don't know what his gripe is...in that scrum the refs didn't flag anyone til a ref got pushed. That's blatant and will get called every time...as should the RTP which could just as easily been called spearing. You can't lead with your lid like that especially on a player that is not in any position to protect himself. I still don't understand how they didn't initiate concussion protocols when Strevs got his bell rung. Granted he was able to continue and it worked out well for us...but wow...he looked completely looped when he got up.

German/Irish...I have this overwhelming desire to take over the world but I'm too busy getting pished to do anything about it. You, on the other hand, can be forgiven for your aggressive tendencies...we know it's simply an adverse reaction to putting too much basil in the ratatouille

Ahhh...I love it when a set-up goes as planned

FIFY Besides...ahem...Rod started it.

I did but I think I got away with it. Ok...so that's a prawn Goebbels, a Hermann Goering and four Colditz salads?
-
Every time I see him in a game now I can't help but think of that scene with Nick Nolte in North Dallas 40 where he talks about how broken and beat up his body is.

Time to start hanging flags out of the QBs pockets?

It's time to hand the ball to Streveler.

He showed it tonight when he tackled the guy he gave up the int to. He didn't just hang his head and forget about the play...he went after the guy and laid a lick on him. Not quite sure he's ready to lead but it looks like he's going to get the chance to make his case -
Started the celebration a bit early/prematurely, I guess. Regina Police said they received a call for a report of a suspicious vehicle around 2 a.m. on Oct.11, two days before the Saskatchewan Roughriders played against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. A truck was running on the side of the road in the area of Ring Road and North Albert Street Overpass with a man behind the wheel who was not responding to police. https://www.cjme.com/2018/10/16/riders-charleston-hughes-charged-with-impaired-driving/

Agreed. Much like his comments after being booed. Frankly I think booing your starter is self defeating but fans have paid their money and if they want to boo there's not much you can do about it. Having said that...complaining about the booing is also self defeating because if your play doesn't improve you're only opening yourself up to more of the same. His unwillingness to take responsibility for his poor performances didn't help matters. I just think he's been overly emotional this year...and not in a good way.
-
For the same reason the coaching staff will be looking at the negatives of that game and trying to improve on them. Granted, you want to look at the positives, as well, so you can hopefully recreate them but to ignore the negatives is not a recipe for success. I bet if you asked Bighill if there was anything he could improve on from his performance he'd be able to point out at least a couple of things he could have done even better. Doesn't mean he doesn't think he played well.

I give credit to Nichols for limiting the mistakes he was making in the 4 game skid. He's making smarter decisions in the pocket for sure. But in regards to the Sask game he had one completed pass for positive yards in the entire first quarter that amounted for almost half his total in the game. In the next two quarters he put up a grand total of 84 yards. For a team looking to make a run at the playoffs that should be at least somewhat worrying, no?
-
So because I can look at the team and it's players objectively I won't be welcome here? Frankly I think that says much more about you than it does about me. A poster above, in a reply to me, said "Nichols sucks". I never said anything similar but I don't see you commenting on that. Or is there a post count one must achieve before stating one's opinion on a player? I think Nichols has peaked and has not been a great QB this year and his numbers reflect that. If you want to discuss that, fine...if, instead, you want to focus on me then I refuse to take the bait. Cheers,
-
So you think the coaching staff is saying to the team.."Hey we shut out the Riders. We're great. Nothing to improve on. Go home and we'll see you after the break"? Is that what you think? I'm 52 and have been a Bomber supporter since 1974. I'm just not a blue goggle wearing sycophant unable/unwilling to recognize the team's short comings. Now...do you have anything to say about the team that doesn't have something to do with me, personally? Cuz if not I think I'll exercise my right to ignore you.
-
I just don't think it's unreasonable to point out that, unlike last year, this win streak is due to a dominant D and that NIchols' performance has been less than stellar. Every team in the league, no matter how successful, is always looking to improve...every player is looking to improve. The 4 game win streak is thanks to the D and Nichols not making the same kind of mistakes he was making previously. It hasn't been because of his stellar play. All he had to do in those games was not screw up and panic...and he was able to do that. My concern is what happens when the D isn't able to contain a team like they have been? It's incredibly ironic considering last year it was exactly the opposite. The O put up lots of points and the D would squander them and the concern then was what would happen when the O wasn't able to cover the spread the D was giving up.
-
NS took a lot of crap for expressing his opinion on the other board about Nichols and I was actually one that used to give him that crap. But after this season I'm starting to recognize what his concerns were/are and happen to agree to a large extent that Nichols is not the future of this team. Nichols behaviour and play this year has really soured me on him. You're free to disagree with that...that's your (and all other poster's) right. But the personal shots lacking any other comments of substance is just weak.
-
So nothing from you either beyond personal shots. Why make it personal? I offered an opinion which you can either agree with or not. You are also free to provide your own opinion on his actions or play. Instead you choose to attack me personally. Calling out a well paid athlete for below average play is not being a troll for goodness sake.
-
So Nichols is above reproach because he's "well paid"? That's some pretty sketchy logic. I happen to think that because he's well paid he is wide open to criticism. He's been an average to below average QB this year and this last game did nothing to change that perception. Finally...he didn't just celebrate...he was making a statement that appeared to say "Hey all you naysayers, look at me and how great I am". That, to me, is not the act of a confident QB.
