  1. By spamming this board to up mah no0 post count!
  2. Now that you mention it, I did try to go back and you're right, they didn't keep much. N/m, then..
  3. Proulx will be the ref and will call holding once and RF will explode. They will lose by 30 and they will blame Proulx.
  4. Yo Muddy.
  5. It's now "BEL13VER". It's spelled with a 13 now. You know, to commemorate that time when they had 13 players on the field at an inopportune time. Just FYI to Rider fans who are too too busy browning up their noses to take note of the basic nuances of football, in the CFL you are supposed to have 12 players on the field. Just FYI.
  6. Power to you, brother. I am slowly learning that lesson myself although not overly quickly. Have fun on Sunday.
  7. Sometimes you need to stick your head in the garbage to know that it's past time to toss the trash to the curb.
  8. I see it as him punching well above his weight and his decline immediately thereafter proved that. I don't think it was a confidence thing. I also don't think Calgary was themselves at that point.
  9. Hmm, sounds a little too sober for my tastes.
  10. No I agree there are lots of variables at play, I'm just saying that I'm not as impressed with our wins over who turned out to be weaker teams. There are times when teams have different levels of success at different times of year because they are legitimately playing at a different level, or there was a smokescreen and they were playing teams who weren't the Bombers better at that time. I tend to think it was the latter for the cases of Ottawa and Edmonton, looking back at it. In the end I don't really care I guess since I'm happy to have gotten those points.
  11. I understand that things change throughout the course of a season but disagree with the notion that because a team is playing seemingly well at one time of the year doesn't mean they were actually good, even at that time of the year. In your Edmonton and Ottawa examples: Before our week 3 win over EDM: they beat a Montreal team who thought Pipkin was the better QB and who just got a new HC 4 seconds before kick off and then BC (BC sux) Before our week 4 win over OTT: they beat a Calgary team who clearly had not yet hit their stride (was BLM hurt and playing at that point?) and then a Sask team with Fajardo getting his first start) Case in point: Dom Davis was never a good QB.
  12. I was ignoring this thread because I thought it was unnecessarily crude and childish. I thought we could take the high road. Just lurked for 3 mins on riderfans and saw what they were talking about. Carry on, my friends. The Rider fans proving time and time again that they are complete classless trash. EDIT: They post a ton of memes making fun of Winnipeg for being cold? lol wtf, it's the same climate you idiots.
  13. Open the flood way because the tears are flowing east down the Assinaboine on Sunday. For the second year in a row.
  14. Just because teams took a while to prove they weren't as good or bad as they turned out to be doesn't make them any more weak/strong at the time. For example, when we beat BC in Week 1, I remember thinking it was an enormous win given it was expected BC with Reilly would do well in the standings. That turned out to be wrong as the season played out and teams showed who they really were. BC wasn't any better a team in W1 vs W21 (save for the Reilly injury) and therefore our W1 win wasn't as impressive as initially thought. I am talking about this in a vacuum, of course, as teams can make personnel changes that affect their identity and compete level.
  15. Oh I fully expect that when and if it comes back, all our history will have been lost. I would hardly ever look back at old threads but for some reason it really bothers me that all that activity might have vanished from the depths of cyber space.
  16. Great win. I'll admit I'm a little jaded by the off-season defense decimation and am continually surprised every time we are able to eek out a win. The Colorado pummeling took the wind out of my sails and made me go, "and here comes the inevitable losing streak". But, we bounced right back! AWESOME JOB HIGH FIVE
  17. The bold is a theory only. One I do not share, and I'm actually a Nichols fan.
  18. Well I certainly do not downplay Nichols. What I am looking at is the reality, that Nichols' resume is battered with injuries that prevented him from achieving this elusive MOP status (for multiple years), and we have an market correction in the QB department that natrually drives down his value. It's just economics at this point.
  19. I had probably as difficult a time with 2011 GC as 2007 GC, simply because going into the game in 2007 we knew we had no QB, and in 2011 we had such an amazing year and just declined going into that game. I admit that team was a smokescreen, but that 2011 summer just very well may have been the best summer of my life. All November during the playoffs that year I would blast a crappy burnt CD I made that consisted of a mix of songs played during the games at CanadInns that year to get pumped. I think the loss jaded me because even though this 2016 - present era now is at least as exciting, I've never allowed myself to match that level of emotional investment for fear of getting hurt. That said, the East Final "last" game at CanadInns where we stomped the Cats with Chris Garrett alone and Odell Willis ran around in -25 with no shirt to hoist the East trophy was probably my favourite game. What a terrific feeling. Went with a group of friends and family and drank ice cold beer to stay warm. I would very much like that 'best game' memory to be replaced by November 24, 2019. (That said, while we have not had enough time to process it yet, I think a lot of us will look back on this past Sunday's game with a lot of fondness. I mean, we slaughtered Bo Levi in his own stadium in a year where Calgary is hosting the Cup and no one picked us. That's huge, even from an historical perspective)
  20. I think it's safe to say that Nichols' stock has fallen with the injuries. It's not his fault but he hasn't proven himself worthy of a raise. With the emergence of all these young QBs this year due to all starters getting hurt, supply > demand. One of the reasons Bomber fans were so high on Nichols and why he was paid the way he was is because the QB market was deadsville and we were thrilled to pick up someone who "could start and be decent". I would call ~2016-18 a low point in the CFL QB market, as the old guard (Ray, Burris, Durant) were donezo and the crop was slow to be replaced. Not the case this offseason. It is going to be a very, very interesting offseason with both the QB and coaching carousel.
  21. That's fine. Anytime they dismiss us beating them because they have injuries we can just #2007 them. If KJo had his arm broken instead of Glenn and we won, there would still be a new thread about that every week on RF.
  22. LOL. Y'all know what I mean. He's going to favour his injury and not go all out and play like he can when he's 100%. Don't expect a Cortizone Chris type of performance from CoFaj on Sunday. Paper Cut Cody!!
  23. Just to add to the oblique conversation, while I fully believe folks' comments on the physical pain, general discomfort and disabling effects of such an injury, perhaps the more damning is the psychological effects. For example, 3 days ago I got a paper cut on my right index finger and while it's healed, I hesitate to touch my computer mouse too hard because I'm used to the slight sting. Not only do I hesitate due to the "pain", but I don't want to reopen the cut. Now exchange "paper cut" with "abdominal (core) tear", and replace "touching my work computer mouse" with "pro football in the cold". If CoFaj starts, he will not be the CoFaj Glen Suitor blows on a daily basis.
  24. I believe you posted a pic of your truck (what was left of it) on the other site. Was a pretty epic sight. Again, can't believe no one was hurt!
  25. 7000 posts on the other site. Need my Bomber fix, especially during playoffs and after that epic win on Sunday. I plan on sticking around. Thanks for having me.
