  1. At this point....play a 8 man o-line and 7 LB's......honestly maybe some of these guys we are fielding will grow into good players but our receivers and d-line are not getting it done...... The half time passing stats are soooooooooooooooo bad and what 85% have been to Olivera and Demski for a whopping 55ards are you for real!!!!!! Defence how TF are we not pressuring Mair, he is honestly less mobile than Celo with no shoes our d-line is one of the worst I have seen on any team......
  2. Yep.....two pretty pee poor offence's And c'mon Mair runs like Biden getting off a plane man.....how can we not get to him......
  3. Well, I'm on my second beer....sorry no hotdogs, but I'm doing dry rub back ribs and wings (Hooter style hint....lot's of butter) with blue cheese, carrots and celery, and La Cocina's with home made heavy garlic salsa for halftime and will be switching up to traditional Tequila Lime margheritas at kick-off so maybe I won't be so sad with the way they play today due to my "self gratification" of food and drink..........
  4. One thing that stuck out to me is just how good both those teams are at LB, I mean right now the Mtrl LB crew is playing unbelievable.... but T.O is no slouch at LB...... Not to pile on our team, but watching Sanky and Beverette dominate game in and game out as they do really shows how far we have fallen off in the LB core.
  5. Our eyes see concern, the posters with more intimate OL knowledge have ...well some...not naming names.....er.... "Booch" ....😎has voiced concern over and over....and over......, the commentators on TSN voiced concern, Walby voiced some concern, and PFF grades them poorly. It seems every metric has come to the conclusion that we have not been good enough along the O-line.....Would Eli single handedly improve it...does he have a nagging injury? All indications are we are running status Quo regarding the o-line again this week, IF we lose and fall to 0-4 and the o-line play doesn't start looking better.... we have to look at the person-ell, we keep trotting out.....everyones eyes and PFF grading can't all be wrong can they....
  6. I was not expecting much from Schmek or Hubert....but thus far Schmek. may be the most improved from last year and Hubert in a small sample impressed the heck outta me....side not, Wallace has also impressed....we may in the future look back on some really good value draft picks
  7. Honestly the DC is better than last week, (I wish Nichols, Habba and Fox and BO were not injured) but we have 7 on the D-line and considering the injuries it looks pretty good. Hopefully next week we have Nichols and a fully healthy BO. We better figure out a run game and how to chew the clock on offence this week or big play VAJ will have his way with us
  8. Games are won and lost in the trenches, it has been that way for a long time. Its a big reason why a few adds put Mtrl near the top last year, It was the reason we won our first couple Grey Cups and IMO the same reason we lost our last couple. We have had a very good O-line for many years and arguably one of the best D-lines, however for whatever reason we decided that our D-line especially could purely run off of next man up philosophy and got weaker, as it got weaker so did our dominance....coincidence??? Just look last week at the pressure and compete along the line on our defence until Habba and Fox went down. then Ott's offence changed....did they get better?? No we played with a way to thin d-line made up of rotation pieces and rookies. Some guys especially along the o-line we couldn't afford to keep and that is the nature of the beast, but what I don't like is the lack of d-lineman we roster, the illusion of an attitude that it's next man up regardless....look I don't like the guy, but if we brought in Lemon instead of Mtrl. I bet we are defending champs.. Yes we have detrimental injuries this year, but it's the lines where we are losing IMO....true Zach needs to play better, but without a run game this is Zach. Give him a solid run game and watch the o-line look better and he will also, I strongly believe that. Last week was too easy for the opposition, we had only 4 d-lineman that were outta position, tired and inexperienced...that bought Ott just that bit of an edge. Our offence had zero threat of a run game, again giving Ott defence that bit of an edge. Osh and team have taken us to four straight, so they have grace, but "next man up" is not do-able right now....we added a D-lineman, great start we should IMO keep adding. If Brady is out any longer we need to do something to address our lack of run game, JA is a great rotation piece, MCI is too raw. It's not fair to fully evaluate this o-line without establishing a run game and having a back that can block like AH did and Brady is developing into. Is all lost....no but we need players especially along the d-line, we need to roster enough to keep them fresh and we need to establish a run game.
  9. YES.....that play I almost threw my beer.....lol.....That right there is how the season has been, we don't have desire, ambition, or the balls we need....
  10. If we establish a run game, I believe the pass pro will look a lot better. Ott did not need to respect a run, gap control, RPO. I am not sure why the game plan was so bad this past game. In the first game Brady was in and we tried (but very clearly he was far from 100%), we also had Strev do a few things, correct me if I am wrong but did we not have a Demski run play?? Last week We never really used JA, at least not enough to be any threat, Strev came in short yardage and was no threat (I think he is hurt) IMO our offensive game plan against OTT. was bad. Yes execution was poor at times, and our O-line struggled in pass pro, but Zach, and the O-line had no favors with the play calling. Against BC IF brady is still out, game plan for the run game we can do, or airlift in some big bruisers......we have ratio flexibility
  11. With the blocking we have been giving, I don't think just changing the returner is the solution.....yes a guy like Grant can occasionally do something in spite of lack of blocking, but IMO it's a greater issue than just returner. I theorize that even as bad as we played if we had dressed even one extra D-lineman we probably would have won...my reasoning is look at how good we were getting pressure on Brown until Habba and Fox went down, then once our D-line was exhausted and no real threat Ott was able to run the clock and Brown was able to stay mostly clean....true our offence and specials were bad, but I do really believe that our lack of rostered D-line depth cost us one Grey Cup and recently cost us this game....
  12. I don't think this is insert players name here fault. To me this is a bigger issue, take one or two guys out and IMO the end result is the same. Offence was terrible, Zach was terrible, but his blocking was terrible, our run game was terrible 42 total yards, we abandoned it and became one dimensional, we didn't use misdirection, screens, sweeps, or even Strevelor....is he hurt?? we only converted 30% of our second downs and only 40% of our pass attempts. It was hot garbage....Eli and/or another import o-lineman would not have changed this. This is far, far deeper than changing out a guy or two.... Special teams, Castillo was "unchipped" 33yard net punt average is not good enough, our coverage teams was poor again...even with "125 LB's" on the roster, Mitchel didn't fumble and his blocking was terrible, completly terrible, he was swallowed up instantly, yes, he has not shown great, but again insert players name here with that blocking and IMO the numbers would not have been any better Defence....oh boy only dressing 6 DL really bit them in the arrse....At the beginning with all six we were collapsing the pocket and getting pressure, then Habba went down, then Fox went down and the remaining four guys were exhausted, overworked and gassed...completely not fair for them, not to mention Jake has never had great stamina, Schmek looked like he was about to puke every time the defence came off, Willy simply had no more in the tank to give, and Adams isn't even an end to begin with, never mind in full game cardio condition. It's actually almost impressive that the defence sort of kept us in this game, condidering we had an exhausted, slow D-line for almost the entire game. For the love of all things, dress more D-line!!!!!!! Intangibles....Hardrick was pure energy, he exuded love for "his" guys Baily was emotional and intense, Harris, remember "you got my back"......maybe it's not always about pure athlete talent and skillset....maybe we have let too many emotional leaders get away, maybe we need this back.....so the question is who/how, do we have that in house??? Is there a vet out there that can bring that???? So my rant in short is this.......roster better, Osh, step in and improve this specials unit overall, and Buck figure out what you have and figure out a game plan to use them, because this game you didn't set them up to succeed...and maybe we do need a change along the o-line, hell maybe we need to play 6 O-line heavy set more until Brady is back, and/or Zach gets his rhythm back, and unless Streveler is hurt, get him involved and please find the intensity......right now no ones "got my back"
  13. Give the defence some credit...with ZERO possible D-line rotation they are completely gassed
  14. If only we dressed more than 6 DL.....🤪
  15. In fairness its humid as heck and he must be gassed as he has no back-up so zero rotation....correct me if i am wrong, but we only dressed 6 D-line and two are hurt in Habba and Fox.....so literally Thomas, Smeck, willie and Adams have to play aevery single down....and with how cruddy our offence has been check ou tthe TOP
  16. I think fox is also injured......anyone confirm??
  17. OMG...our special teams are soooooo bad
  18. My Bomber keys to the game; Zach- was it rust....whatever it was the ball goes through his hands and he needs to better with it JA- he is not Brady, but my eyes said Brady was worse than we were led into believing health wise last game, can JA be better than injured Brady O-line-Kola probably had his worst game as a Bomber, looking for redemption this week Receiver-Lawler out hurts us, Woli played with fantastic intensity last week, that needs to spread and guys don't need to be Kenny, but guys need to get open and block D-line- is 6 guys enough.....humidity is supposed to be very high with damn near tornado weather...six is a slim number Biggie-is he going to play like biggie we all love....or biggie in last years GC? Ford- I may be overly harsh in my criticism, but he was one of the worst DB's last week.....league wide....he needs to bounce back Castillo-no chip no issues..... Sheehan- I am REALLY tired of punts out of bounds... Mitchel- doesn't need to break one, but secure and go forward Coaching-Woli had "it" last week, coaches need to make sure everyone has the intensity we should have
  19. I know you have been consistently high on Ford, but I was not impressed with him so far. I hope your optimism of him turns out to be much more accurate than my skepticism of him.
  20. Is Ford still with the starting D in practice? You could tell Brady was not right, hope he is either far closer to 100% than he was last game or we give him the time to heal he needs-any rate is Augustine taking all 1st teems reps? Is 0 still taking all KR/PR in practice? Nice to have Biggie back...but he better not be Biggie from GC version of nowhere near healthy enough to play? Is Demski practicing, he also looks injured right from the beginning to my eye test?
  21. Not to fully defend him, but Zach was so bad, we couldn't even hit the "easy" ones. Plus, I really do believe Brady is hurt and that affected us establishing the run game. I also think Demski is nursing something, he didn't look himself yesterday, add in Lawler out and our elite playmakers were kind of whittled down to one...
  22. My 2 cents after sleeping on it and watching it again. -Zach was bad...no sugar coating, he was bad -Lawler injury appears to be his arm/hand getting caught under the defender and bending/rolling badly...he grabbed it and went off pretty quickly -Say what you want but Oliveria is hurt, he didn't have burst...he is injured, and I will die on that hill -Ford did not play good enough, perhaps Mc Ghee is better? But unless Ford really improves his starting days are numbered IMO -It appears the "chip" affected Castillo -Mitchel needs to show more on returns -Another damn punt out of bounds.....not good enough -Demski seemed off, I question if he is actually injured -The ankle twist on Streveler should be a minimum 1 game suspension, the replay clearly showed intent to injure -The face mask call on us was a bad call
  23. Defence had a couple breakdowns, special have been hot garbage, but this loss falls squarely on Zach and the offence
  24. He was favoring his wrist forearm area right after a catch, then went out right away
  25. Lots of mistakes and it's only a 9 point game at half...wheeew...now our offence needs to get in sync and get going...honestly the defence has looked pretty good. Can't sugar coat it Zach was terrible, and our special teams pretty craptastic also...
