  1. In the Bomber Blitz 1990 tape I used to have, they talked a lot about a specific package they ran where Greg Battle dropped back to FS and they used the safety Dave Bovell closer to the line. I kind of remember another guy from the earlier 90s named Donovan Wright for BC who was something like that too? Also, I forgot Mo Kelly was here in Reinebold’s last year, I always think of him as a Ritchie guy. I just looked it up, he had a pretty long career. Started with Las Vegas Posse.
  2. I’m remembering the Stubler Argos starting a lot of the smaller LB trend. Guys like Eiben and Michael Fletcher around 04-07. May have been earlier.
  3. That’s a fair point. I’d have to agree, modern/current era is like 05ish-now.
  4. For sure. We could go on forever. The Patriots nearly went back to Drew Bledsoe for their first SB. Even Mahomes wasn’t a sure thing, he sat behind Alex Smith for a year before KC traded the latter. (Actually the second time that happened to Smith in his career but I digress) You don’t even have to go to the NFL for an example. Henry Burris was let go by the Ticats after a cup appearance to make room for Collaros himself (who was less proven than Dru Brown at that point in his career)
  5. Depends on what you consider the modern era I guess. Tom Burgess and Sean Salisbury could be argued as equal or worse to how Collaros has played this year.
  6. That’s the last thing I wanted to see. They should have dropped Johnson.
  7. Big time wishful thinking but I’d love for us to bring Betts in prorated for just the rest of this year, he’d be a perfect fit for the DL rotation.
  8. Or Montreal, they seem to have unlimited cash to bring in everyone else.
  9. He’s never coming here.
  10. I don’t think theirs is better. Luckier and more opportunistic if anything. the refs/CC..it’s Labour Day. Hopes high, expectations low on that. My concerns are our OL in pass pro vs their DL, and the punter keeping us in a field position hole all day. Bombers are the better team in every other way. Secure the ball on offence, we should be able to grind out a tough win. If Brady can’t go, we’re ****** though for real.
  11. It’s an awful thing to have to admit. I have a weird feeling their luck will run out in November though.
  12. I don’t care for having to say it, as I’ll never be a fan, but Cody Fajardo is the best quarterback in the league right now, by a lot. He’s hitting receivers in stride, dimes all over the field. A good OL has done wonders, but yes he’s a far more complete QB than he was with the Riders. 1999 was the last time the east was better iirc. I agree, looking at those standings is a strange visual.
  13. He’s 36. He’s on his upside, which is to simply still be playing at all. The home game against Stamps is his ceiling now imo, and that will be even less frequent as the weather turns poor.
  14. Yeah most games they’d be down like 28-3 at the half and lose 43-31, with no chance of ever being within a score.
  15. Fwiw I learned recently that Rourke is legit (not Cahoon) Canadian. Grew up in Victoria and Oakville, Ont. Only went to the states for Grade 12 and collegeZ Your point totally remains though, who wouldn’t want to at least try to get to the top echelon of their craft? I don’t get how you can ever fault a player for trying the NFL.
  16. 192 extra spots a year since 2020 for guys that may have given the CFL a shot in the past. One thing I’ve noticed due to this is more American rookies coming into the CFL (and playing right away) who weren’t starters in college, especially from power 5 schools.
  17. I’ll never get over not keeping Dru Brown. Last night they showed them on the late BA fumble recovery challenge. They had their screens paused on a random shot of a Hamilton WR running, nothing to do with the play.
  18. I would want them gone even if we won the cup in them. They just aren’t football jerseys.
  19. It’s wild that we have guys who are the best in the league (or at least in the convo) at 4 positions in the secondary. I’d disagree. They’ve had the most success only rushing 3 or 4 this year. I don’t want to see them blitzing all that much more than they have been. They broke Bo in the 2019 WF by dropping 9 and coming down on the crossers, taking the deep ball away with tight coverage. Nick Taylor for one, played out of his mind that game.
  20. Exactly. It will either be like we saw last night, or what we saw against BC.
  21. Top 5 all time ugly wins
  22. Is the clothesline legal in the CFL now?
  23. They’re gonna call PI
  24. Zach’s playing like the former anyway and should be the latter.
