I know you can’t judge it fully, but I really think Calgary would have steamrolled Zach up the middle. I don’t think it ends close without Streveler. Even in the 3rd when Strev was figuring it out we got comparable results to Zach’s. Streveler can throw the ball as an actual quarterback.

Best case for us is he gets tired of the perennial interim coaches in Ottawa and signs back here in 2026. If they can ever manage to get the rest of that organization together, look out.

Agreed. I was hyped too. He just couldn’t stay healthy, and missed a few plays when he was on the field. I don’t think he suffered from a lack of opportunity. I’d push back on the “Zach only throws to his favourites” comments. He can zone in on the first read sometimes, but if a WR can run a route and get open, they’ll get thrown to. It’s not like he just wants to throw to his buddies. I’m not really a Zach guy at this point in his career, but you’ve gotta be fair.

That’s just it. Ottawa is in a better place moving forward at QB than most of the league. BC- Adams probably is at his ceiling, Proukop isn’t going to take the next leap. Calgary- McCheese and his even fatter backup. Edmonton- MBT is what he is. Ford could improve I guess. Us- Hinges on Strev. Not much of a future with Collaros. Sask- Same as here minus Streveler. TO- I think Dukes is quite impressive given the situation. I can’t stand Kelly, but he’ll probably be back too. They’ll be ok at QB for a while. Montreal- They’re in good shape as well. Has anyone mentioned that Fajardo’s play improved after a year of working with Calvillo? I think that’s been very overlooked. Hamilton- Powell might be good, completely unproven. BLM is more cooked than Collaros. Then Ottawa with Brown and Crum. If I’m building a CFL team from scratch, I’ll take their QB room over anyones right now. Problem there is, the rest of the team being scratch.

The entire team is predictable. I was saying a few weeks ago, when was the last time you saw the Bombers do anything innovative in any context?

@Booch In a hypothetical, Osh gets fired at the end of the year, who you hiring (besides yourself lol) My choice would be Pete Costanza. Came up under Huff mostly, nothing but success everywhere he’s been. Part of multiple championship staffs. Never read a bad word about him from a personality standpoint. Not entrenched enough as a coordinator to be a meddler.

Yeah I’d actually heard that from a couple different places, actually going back to when AH left. Didn’t think much of it at the time but in hindsight maybe there was something to it..

For the most part I’d agree, but I mean at a certain point someone has to be the tough boss when it comes to letting vets move on. It’s been clear since day 1, O’Shea was never going to be that guy. Knowing this, I believe Walters could have done a little more earlier to prevent what’s happening now. O’Shea or not, Thomas even being offered a camp invite, for one example is a huge fail. Other little things too. Not being able to find a decent punter for 2 years.. drafting Anthony Bennett in the first round. Not fireable, just a little troubling. Like I said, some of it is on Walters imo, but not the lions share of the blame at all.

Yeah, I don’t see it now either. The time for that was 6 months ago.

See, to me that’s as much on Walters then. There’s a fine line between listening to your people, and letting them talk you out of making the right choices. I’d give him way more rope than MOS right now but Walters isn’t blameless either. He’s been around the league long enough to know better than to let that many key guys on the roster age out of their prime at once. There were rumblings of a rift before Walters signed his latest deal. Makes you wonder..

Even if he was making the right calls, he appears to really not have the physical tools to be a good center. The fact that Eli is around makes it the most baffling of all MOS decisions to me. There’s no excuse, it has to be stubbornness at this point. There’s just no other valid reason.

I could debate should, but I agree on will. Even if we only get a win or two the rest of the year, the injuries are going to be the excuse. I doubt we see any staff changes this year, or even leading into next honestly. I think it will take until if or when they’re out of contention for the home Grey Cup.

Agree on the center being the main issue. I suppose I expected Dobson to be more of a physical force. I see him driven back in pass pro nearly as often as Kolo, and he doesn’t really get into the second level much on run plays. I guess it’s not a realistic expectation when the guy in the middle can’t do the job. Quite honestly, Dobsons first game last year he got destroyed on the first play and I’ve been subconsciously judging him off that, and to be fair I haven’t seen any of our interior overpower anybody much this season. Its not like we have all the game film but I’ve been impressed by Bryant as usual, he moves around like a guy half his age. Lofton mostly, gradually more and more. I haven’t noticed us getting killed by rush ends. Stan had one rough whiff in the Montreal game, aside from that, when I see the replays of pressures/sacks he’s usually got the edge locked down. Either way, you know your **** better than I do, I’ll stop digging myself into a hole lol Sometimes I lean too hard on the comparisons. Corney wasn’t a fair one, Dobson seems much more dedicated to the game. It was mainly the athletic freak pre-draft stuff that made me see the similarities.

Seeing it put out like that, yikes. That was against imo the worst team in the west besides us. This isn’t going to get better any time soon. One of Miller or Walkers needs to step in here. Winning with committee leadership is all well and good but when things get rough, one person still has to be the boss. MOS clearly has no interest, it’s gotta come from up top now.
