  1. Just playing alternate timeline for fun but yes. I think the Bombers would be willing to use Streveler more if and when Brown was playing as badly as Collaros was the last 2 games. Separate argument on MacManus, I’ve watched more old 90s games, as an adult than I’d care to admit, and I always thought he could have been a star earlier than he was. I have to concede that obviously you saw much more of his career than I did. There’s only so many old games available. It wasn’t just the Bombers as you and @rebusrankin have said. What about him at the time was the drawback for teams to not want to go all in?
  2. I shouldn’t say the Lions are the draw. The BC sucks chant is the draw.
  3. If they win tonight, Aug 1 should be a good one too. Lions are usually the second best draw after Sask.
  4. I was 3 in 1990, so basically same. Nothing will ever compare to the feeling of finally seeing one.
  5. Absolutely. That was the one year I (kind of) gave up on them. Meant to say I only went to, not watched 2 games that season. I watched them all, I only attended the Banjo Bowl and the thanksgiving game where Milt had 4 TDs. I was still sour when they lost, even though we all knew the year was a write-off. Like I was saying before 01-11ish was the peak of my obsessive fandom. 06-11 in particular I lived and (mostly) died with it. The 2011 year made me realize I needed to dial back the emotional investment for my own good. I made an idiot of myself in front of family, having a drunken tantrum during the LDC.
  6. Yeah actually you’re right. He played the second half of each game.
  7. It’s not as simple as “Brown is better than Collaros”. Brown and his contract would put the club in a better place than Collaros and his contract.
  8. Fair. He was the starter in the 94 West final and Grey Cup though? For sure the west final, and also didn’t bolt to a US team at the first opportunity. The comparison isn’t exact, I’ll still defend it as apt at the moment. Forget about the 90s too though, I still believe, had we traded Zach and kept Dru, we’d be in an equal or better position this season and a much better one for 2025 and on.
  9. I see your point on the former. Disagree on the latter. Crumb was a raw rookie last year, while Brown had been developing since 2021. I think Brown is as proven as any QB moving to the starter tier in the last 30 years. I would hope that Streveler can be the next full time starter, and do it well, making Brown a moot point.
  10. You’re missing the point. It’s not about week 2. It’s about how this year and the next 5ish go. How much longer is ZC going to play? For that matter, how much value in 2025 will 600k be for a 37 year old QB? Above anything right now, I want to see the team lift a Grey Cup in their home stadium. Love the player and what he’s done here, but I don’t think Zach at his deal gives us the best chance to see that in 2025, or to win one this year for that matter. I mean, the adults who were attending games with me at the time see our current situation as I do but….😉
  11. Comparatively yeah, I’d say it’s apt as possible. Backup for 3-4 years, showed tons of promise. Showed the ability to run the offence as well or better than the starter. Let go to keep an aging superstar… I could be forcing it, that Dunnigan/Danny Mac thing happened in my formative football years and shaped my fandom to a degree. Just so similar feeling.
  12. He’s not been horrible. I feel like it’s more about the talent level around him being astronomically higher than when he was in Sask. He still does the spin, he still launches ducks for nothing and nobody sometimes. He’s still Fajardo, just with an MOP type receiver and a good oline. He’s tasked with managing the game vs trying to win it himself like he did with the Riders.
  13. 2025 is when we’ll know who was right about that. For example Dunnigan over Danny Mac seemed ok in 1993, not so much the 2 years after.
  14. That was inexcusably poor in-game officiating, and a double down by the league in not bringing the hammer down. One of the most egregious UR’s I’ve ever seen. I still remember when he called the secondary “The Sisters of the Poor” in a postgame Couldn’t find it, but there’s another treasure of a halftime interview at 1:04:30
  15. He’s not wrong, but if he had a hammy and now a knee, if he ain’t 100% he should sit. In week 3, that’s the correct move by the coaches imo. Maybe Osh learned something from trotting out a field hospital in the Grey Cup.
  16. For as much talk about our lack of run game making us one dimensional this year, look at BC. Arguably a worse oline than ours talent-wise and a washed-up Stanback the only real option to carry the ball. I think this could be Devin Adams coming out party. Again, the only real huge concern for me is our Oline vs their Dline. Their ends are pretty damn good. I’m not as worried about our secondary as backers in pass coverage. Teams have been running a lot of drags out of tight bunch to get our LBs running in opposite directions.
  17. That sings a bit, but honestly I really liked that trade at the time.
  18. That’s a good point. I’d have to agree. The situation is just so maddening that I was looking for any possible reason. I hate to harp on the same stuff, but it’s just so ridiculous. It doesn’t matter how well Kolo can read a d or not though, he’s getting physically dominated constantly.
  19. I’m just grasping at straws because I can’t for the life of me figure out why Eli isn’t starting. Is it possible his knee’s destroyed and he’s only good for a few plays a game? Pure speculation.
  20. Because it wasn’t. Pig pucky call I currently hate them but yeah, that’s a damn good defence.
  21. Yeah same, 01-11. 2005 was a protest year of sorts for me. Cancelled my seasons and only watched 2 games. I was furious the club held on to Jim Daley
  22. Those were the peak years of my obsessive fandom..Rough times lol
  23. Yup, Fair is fair. With that, let’s see how they use him this week if Brady is in fact out. Honestly, I see a win. BCs lineup isn’t super impressive, I feel we actually match up pretty well against them. I don’t really see a position group of theirs that will win out on a lot of consecutive plays. I mean, our OL kind of scares me until they show otherwise but I feel more confident about this game than the previous 2.
  24. Could very well be lol. Those Joe Mack drafts were the lowest level of terrible
