Exactly. My Dad used write for the old Winnipeg Tribune. I grew up hearing about Jack Mathison, Vince Leah and Jim Coleman. My time had hacks like Friesen, Paul Wiececk, Randy Turner. We’ve had great Bomber reporters in my lifetime, but they’ve worked directly for the club (Irving, Tait) I could go off about Postmedia but I’ll keep it relatively on topic. If it were a full-time job, I think Doug Brown could be the investigative/thorough type of reporter we all want.

In that hypothetical, ford got hurt I’m pretty sure Kramdi would come in at dime (if he wasn’t already starting ) and whichever American would move to Fords spot.
-
Option 1. I’ve seen them lose 6 grey cup games in my lifetime, a sure win means more to me than a berth.
-
Maybe the city didn’t pay their Shaw bill.
-
Some of us can’t even shut the **** up about 2001 yet never mind last year.
-
That’s thoughtful and you’re not wrong about any of those instances. My roster management thing is more like: If our interior DL was able to push the pocket, we would have won that cup against Montreal by 10+, making those other what-ifs irrelevant.
-
Yeah that’s a drawback for sure, and I’m a huge fan of his play.
-
This all makes me really hope Dylan Moses can play up here.
-
Like @Mike said. If a 32 year old career STer becomes the starting middle linebacker for 6 weeks or more, somebody ****** up really bad.
-
I really don’t think so. If it were him, he’d be referring to himself in the third person near constantly. Plus that profile is for “Ron Brown” and reads like an over 40.
-
If you click that profile, it appears to be his father arguing with Tait
-
I’d see him being on the “1 Game” a lot. Thorax issues.
-
MCI is replacing Jackson on the roster, not Augustine imo. They’ll be able to use an American somewhere else like we all wanted last season.
-
I don’t even see a problem with wavering if more information becomes available. For example, early 2022, I still thought we for sure needed an American running back. Brady’s play totally took a 180 and I was glad to change my opinion. Something like: Having no interior DL who could push the pocket and 2 gassed out DEs cost us the last 2 Grey cups. That’s a hill I’ll die on.
-
I think that’s more of a message board thing in general rather than a MBB/OB thing, but I will say I felt what you’re saying wayyy more on OB (and TEP) like 06-11ish.
-
No way. He’s serviceable at worst. Definitely deserves to be out there, just some of us think there’s some more talent to be had at that position. I wouldn’t lump Augustine in with guys like Jackson or Shmeckel either. Augustine and Kramdi are decent-solid.

Cut him

I think he’s been generally positive about the team since the drought ended. Not sure how true, but I’ve heard over the years Friesen was butthurt about having to cover football instead of curling. Would explain a lot of the snark towards the Bombers.
-
Christian Aurmell talks Bombers a decent amount. I think he’s the next Tait or Irving, if he wants to go that way.
-
Yeah he’s got a pretty narrow frame but I mean we’ve seen guys like Hefney and Clint Kent for example in the past excel in that spot.
-
Something like that. He took some reps from the middle spot too late last season iirc.
-
I think Parker would be a prime option to play Kramdis spot. He’s on the smaller side but such a good tackler, and lateral quickness.

2023/2024 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season News

I’d agree on Pinball being canonized by the CFL back in the 90s. Granted, his gimmick is the big-eyed motivational speaker and he does a good job of playing up to that, ingenuous or not I have no idea. They had a lot of d-bags in the mid-2000s (Ricky Williams notwithstanding. I give them props for that) and quite a few clowns lately. Fair is fair, they brought in Bailey this year so we can’t say it’s all slimy. -

I thought his time was up when he embarrassed himself fighting fans. That’s gotta be it for him now though no? -

Agree, Hamilton is a QB away from being a scary team. As much as I hate them, I’d love to see Rourke in Calgary. They need a marketable player like that to save their franchise. As an organization, they’re pretty hooped right now. Damn. Stats don’t lie I guess, really thought I remembered Drummond being the guy that teams game planned around. I remember him making a lot of big plays on like 2nd and 2 when the whole country knew he was getting the ball. I still say Anderson was slightly overrated. Piled a lot of stats running the ball when the stamps were up big in games.
