  1. I hope this season ends up being fools gold for the Riders. 9-8-1 season mired by a 7 game winless stretch but buoyed by an otherworldly turnover ratio. An aging QB that finally seems to be able to find the end zone (on something like 21% of his drives) but of the 11 games he started, 5 of them were against the 3 teams that missed the playoffs (and were the worst in opponent TD percentage). But you made it to the West Finals! Run it back Kings!
  2. As well they should be. This was probably their best shot. They overachieved based on start of year expectations but underacheived in being a 9 win team with a TO ratio you'd expect a 14 win team to have. This reeks of a situation where they think they are a piece or two away, but if they run back Harris at 39 he's more likely than not to transform into a pumpkin and they'll get a harsh dose of reality when they aren't producing 4 TOs a game (even though this season all they could really do was transform those into punts).
  3. This... Just thinking too fast on mobile to type 🤣🤣🤣
  4. Ouelette had 24 rushes for 120 yards... But two of those went for 26 and 30 yards. Take those away and his two 1 yd TDs and you are looking at 20 rushes that went 62 yards. If you are sitting at 3 ypc for the majority of your rushes you are gonna have a tough time
  5. How many players have been around for all 5 runs to the grey cup? For a league with a tonne of turnover the Bombers have done a remarkable job at keeping up continuity
  6. As mentioned, this is from Week 11, so inclusive of season weeks 11 to 21. Riders had byes Week 15 and Week 20 (and Harris didn't play Week 21). Bombers had the week 15 and week 20 byes as well. If Harris would have played Week 21 they both would have gotten 9 starts, Collaros only played the first half in the LDC. Including week 3 for Harris to get him to 9 starts seems to defeat the purpose of "Since week 11"
  7. QB A: 190/262 2392 Yards, 13/6 TDs/INTs QB B: 177/260, 2318 Yards, 13/7 TDs/INTs QB A is Harris. QB B is Collaros... not much difference there since week 11 (this is 8 games for Harris and 8.5 for Collaros) Harris got off to a really good start before getting injured. Collaros got off to a disastrous start. Since the Bombers came back from the first bye and Harris back from his injury they've been remarkably similar.
  8. https://www.cfl.ca/2024/10/31/mitchell-oliveira-headline-2024-cfl-award-nominees/ Brady the MOP and MOC for the West. Milligan beats out Ford for MODP
  9. Looking at the season long Game Analysis that the league publishes and the matchup in the West Final will be VAJ vs the Riders Secondary. VAJ among the leaders in 20+ Attempts despite only starting 9 games and the Riders one of the worst teams against the deep ball.
  10. How close is the game to a sellout? Doesn't look like there is a ton left on ticketmaster
  11. Leake is 5 years younger though... although that is the kind of thinking that got the Bombers into the mess in the first place 😆
  12. The fact that other teams don't know who Nichols is is probably the biggest sign of respect there is 😆
  13. His number is 0, so it could possibly be a 0. I keep saying I wish that the CFL published the advanced stats for DBs but it feels as though a DB being 11th in the league in Defensive tackles isn't a great thing... it shows a willingness for a QB to throw at the receiver they are covering... everyone on here used to rag on Houston as a feast or famine DB where because he has picks it looks like he is doing a good job but those two are neck and neck in tackles. VAJ had a red hot start but then he faltered against Calgary and hit a wall against the Bombers. Kind of similar to what happened with McInnis (but that could be explained by who was throwing to him)
  14. What a bizarro season. If Collaros plays the last two games he has a pretty reasonable chance at setting a career high in yards. TDs/INTs are all out of whack but I don't think anyone would have expected that after the start and the injuries to receivers throughout the year.
  15. https://www.cfl.ca/2024/10/03/one-more-pick-why-tyrell-ford-deserves-to-be-voted-all-cfl/ Interesting to see some of the more advanced metrics they are keeping track of for DBs. Milligan is getting a lot of heat for MODP because he is up there on a lot of the counting stats but its good to see that Ford is right there with him in a lot of the metrics that matter for a corner.
  16. I feel like the general consensus around here going into last week was that this line-up was the best that the Bombers have fielded so far this season
  17. It would be neat to see how that defense performs when they aren't spotted a 28 point lead but I wouldn't complain if we don't find out like last week.
  18. Is that two trips to the 6 game for Woli and 3 for Bighill? 3 separate stints on the 6-game (with games played between) for Bighill must be some kind of record
  19. I guess that means Ouelette is done for the season? They are really building a positive culture over in Riderville
  20. I mean... it's going to be a possibility because he is likely to be the nominee out of Saskatchewan. But he's not even going to be the MODP out of the West so it is kind of a moot point.
  21. Someone out there is keeping targeting stats, it would be neat to see them fully published for DBs https://www.cfl.ca/2024/09/10/the-weekly-say-one-cant-miss-all-cfl-selection/ So when teams throw at Ford they are what... 32/63 and he has 6 picks? It felt like someone like Houston last year was getting picks because teams felt safe passing to his side.
  22. This isn't a problem that is unique to the CFL https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/41107375/nfl-backup-quarterback-crisis-qb2-qb3-depth-charts-joe-flacco-aaron-rodgers
  23. I dunno if it is rust or bad decision making or what but by the end of the season if Rourke keeps up his pace he could lead the league in INTs which would be impressive. 7 INTs through 4 games means through 9 he'd be around 15, which would be around the top in any of the last 8 years. That 18 game pace is what... 31 INTs
  24. One thing that is always a pet peeve of mine as a cyclist is people not wearing helmets and I don't see a tonne in that video. Special shout out for the people who have their kids wear a helmet but they themselves are too cool for one. It would be awesome if the Bombers took a proactive approach and if you bike to the game, and check a helmet with your bicycle they would give you a voucher for Non-Alcoholic drink like they do for the Designated Driver program
  25. I kind of wish that the CFL would tidy up the language in their roughing the passer Vs the NFL "Even if the initial contact is above the knee" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there and is definitely within the spirit of the rule. If you hit higher up and slide/roll down it is still as potentially catastrophic as hitting directly there. You can start making the argument about being 'blocked' into it but the point of contention of "well he initiated contact above the knee!" is a bit disingenuous. And I didn't find exiting the bowl/stadium all that bad from the 200s, what was kind of a shitshow was the Bike Valet. It was packed on Saturday and people come from both sides of the stadium and a line just kind of... coalesces near the guard rail but its not very clear. It would be useful to have some stadium staff there to assist with getting people into the line up in an orderly fashion.
