Have a buddy who is running in this election and they actually get info by polling station within their ridings from Elections Manitoba. He knows which area voted which way in the last election. He spends most of his time on the areas that support him and the swing votes. Minimal effort on the areas where he doesn't have much chance.

Did anyone watch the Philly / Washington game last night? Apparently they had a tribute to Ed Snider where they handed out bracelets to everyone in attendance. En route to a 6 - 1 loss, those in attendance eventually started littering the ice with the bracelets. The PA announcer pleaded with them to stop and warning them that the team would take a penalty if they didn't. Snider had owned the Flyers since they were an expansion franchise in 1966. Could you ever see a time, 30 - 40 years from now, when Chipman passes away and the Jets have a night to commemorate him, would the fans here ever show the same disrespect?

Technically, you could clone a male to a female if you duplicate the X chromosome of the male that determines gender and discard the Y chromosome. But you couldn't go the other way because you would' be able to get a Y chromosome from a female. Though it then wouldn't be an exact copy and there would be an increased chance of birth defects. However it would be possible. I however find it highly unlikely they would do this.

I agree with the bold part. My personal experience with health care is that the ER absolutely sucks, but if you can ever can convince them that what you have is legit or they finally get around to looking at you, especially if it is really a life and death type of emergency, once you get in, the service is fantastic. I like the idea of these quick care clinics to handle a lot of what people go to the ER for. The problem is there isn't enough education around them, and people don't really know of them. If you could expand them to also handle broken legs and things, it would take a strain off of ERs, where ERs could be saved for true emergencies.

Nothing would have happened, it is just how they operated through their teachings.

I don't think you can have it both ways. The bonuses are put in there at the beginning of the season by the agents. This forces the team to commit to the player prior to the season starting. If there was no bonus, then a team could hang on to a player throughout training camp and cut him before the season starts. It would allow the team to string a player along even if they had no intention of keeping him, if only to keep him from other teams. Putting a bonus at the beginning of the season forces the team to declare their intention on the player before the season starts. If they get cut because of it, at least it happens in the off season where they have a chance of getting on with another team as opposed to training camp when rosters are full and it is tougher for teams to sign the players.

Yeah if they are eliminated in the first round, I think all those teams who are eliminated in the first round get ordered by the regular season rankings.

I disagree on Kovalchuk. They are celebrating the "Jets" history, not the franchise history. People are more excited about the alumni game then the actual NHL outdoor game. Why? Because it is a chance to see all the players a lot of us grew up watching, following, and cheering for. Who here has even a remote connection to Kovalchuk other then the respect you would give to any NHL superstar.

I have no idea of this played into his decision but I would think a lot of football players have been forced into some soul searching if they've seen the Concussion movie. Make 200k per in the CFL for the next 10 years and put the rest of your life at risk or prolong your quality of life while you still can.

Hopefully at least an extra 500k so they can make their $4.5M mortgage payment without dipping into the rainy day fund.

He wasn't traded is because he isn't a UFA this summer. In fact he is under contract for 2 more years, and most playoff calibre teams don't want to commit to the $2.6M cap hit for the next 2 years. Typically only pending UFAs get traded at the deadline.

When I first heard this idea, I thought it would have been a good story as well, but then thinking about the logistics, I don't think it would work. Imagine you have people watching Negan over multiple seasons, viewers get to know and start to identify with the characters. They see the history, the backgrounds, and the events that build up to him becoming what he is. Similar to what Rick now is. He is no longer clearly the "good guy" He just does what he needs to survive. The same is likely true for Negan. Now they meet Rick's group. Who is going to win? You probably have an epic build up and an epic couple of episodes, but then what? You have a similar problem to the face vs face problem you talked about in the Wrestling thread. There is no longer a clear cut bad guy for the audience to "cheer" against. Pockets of fans are going to be "cheering" for different characters in both the groups. Then after the fight and one faction "wins", can you still really continue with two different series? As to FTWD itself, I stopped watching after 2 - 3 episodes. It just wan't compelling enough to keep watching for me.

Yep, the salary will be around 900k annually. This isn't negotiable. Bonuses can be 10% (bonuses are just part of the salary paid up front). The rest is bonuses.

Glad to see him sign. No burning of the 1st year of his ELC. Also delaying on when he would have to be protected for any possible expansion draft. Will be exciting to watch him play next year.

Maurice implied that you shouldn't read too much into that win. San Jose has a playoff spot wrapped up and we're basically just going through the motions. It was a sloppy game by both teams. We certainly didn't beat San Jose at their best.
