  1. This is a weird one. Click on your name in the top right, then Account Settings. Now there is something really goofy going on with the formatting here where most of the options are white text on a white background. If you click <CTRL>-A to select all text on screen (or select everything on the screen with your mouse), you will see a number of things you can edit that are currently "invisible". One of those is Signature. Once you see the text highlighted, you can click it to edit it. Other things you can edit here (that are "invisible" as well) are your email address, password, display name, as well as Facebook and Twitter. Have to use this work around until I figure out why the formatting is setting the text to white.
  2. https://www.yahoo.com/tech/star-wars-writers-explain-everything-kylo-ren-turn-150202788.html A few interesting quotes in this article on the evolution of Kylo Ren and killing Han.
  3. Overall I was a big fan of the movie as well. I did have a Spaceballs moment when Kylo took the mask off and we found out he didn't have to wear it, but I totally flashed to Rick Moranis taking off his helmet and saying he can't breathe in that thing.
  4. Still learning new features of the site. Here is a tip if you don't use the activity feeds to find new content. Clicking on the blue circle to the left of threads with unread content will take you right to your first unread post.
  5. Hasn't been happening for me either. What browser are you using?
  6. That one is a head scratcher. Signatures are enabled but the edit doesn't show up for me either. Will have to look further into it. On the plus side, Twitter is now up.
  7. So now that we've upgraded, thought I could give an update on this.... As far as I can tell there is no longer a setting on the maximum number of quotes, it will just take the last post and not bring over the quoted part. (It is possible the setting is there buried some place and I just haven't been able to find it yet). However, if just quoting the last post won't make sense or loses a lot of context, you can highlight whatever portion of a post you want, including quoted parts, than click "Quote this" on the pop-up and it will bring over quotes from a post as well into your new post.
  8. Working on it I'm close. The Twitter feed will be back soon.
  9. Upper right, hover over Activity. You can view preset filters including Unread Content or customize your own filters. There is also an Unread Content link right under the header at the top of each page. On mobile, click the menu at the very top..
  10. This should be more flexible now in terms of turning notifications off / on.
  11. The ads support the site. Covers the hosting, software expenses (this includes the extra costs for the chat room), some prizes and even allows us to donate a pair of season tickets to Big Brothers & Sisters. Happy to say I just renewed those, so next year will be the 3rd straight year we support them.
  12. I saw the movie Friday night so it was all good. Ill take a look on the email settings.
  13. Well I just had to remove the recent posts feed that I had up because your Star Wars spoiler post was showing up front and centre. I was going to take it away once I got Twitter working anyway.
  14. The Twitter feed will be coming back, but I haven't put it in yet. Going to be fine tuning and tweaking over the next couple of days. Ill be be working the widgets (including the Twitter feed next). Just noticed the ad banner is really bad on mobile right now as well So I need to look at that too
  15. Doesn't look like it. This is typically restricted to moderators so that the flow of a thread isn't upset / changed after the fact.
  16. Thanks. Still experimenting with this theme and may try a few others. It is quite customizable with colours and banner graphics. Will definitely do something different / add / change the banner at the top, even if it is just sizing things properly.
  17. Welcome to the Upgraded Morning Big Blue! The software that runs the site had a major re-write that was released earlier this year. They basically rewrote everything from the ground up and I was waiting for the off season to upgrade. This also means that old themes and plugins will no longer work with the new software. Look for the looks and feel of the site to change as well as some new plugins to be added over the next little while. For those of you that changed your display name from your login name, your display name is now used to login (or the email you registered with). Display names can still be changed. Here are a few new features you might find interesting / useful: Use the @ sign in a post to reference a specific member (typing @ and start typing their name and a filtered list will display. In posts, these look like this: @Mike Check out the new profiles and timelines and activity streams as well as the ability to follow specific members. Customize the streams to see posts and information how you want Quote partial text - highlight text in any post and a popup will show up to allow you to quote it Hover on a thread link and the first and last post will be displayed New editor and the ability to drag and drop media Send messages to other members now without leaving a screen in the forum Look for more additions over the next little while as I start adding other enhancements in. As always, let me know if you are having any problems.
  18. It will definitely be interesting to see what happens here. I agree Thorpe shouldn't be allowed out of his contract But he is now clearly disillusioned with Montreal. Does Popp want a DC whose heart isn't in it. What kind of friction would there now be between the two of them if he goes back to Montreal.
  19. Why?
  20. If they are looking for someone to give some energy and play on the 4th line, wonder if Lipon gets his shot.
  21. Actually MPI holds a rather large investment portfolio... I believe it is around $2.5 Billion. Part of their strategic focus
  22. We had a decent PK last year (81.8% vs 77.3% this year, ranked 13th vs 25th) . Same coaches. I think we miss Frolik more then we'd like to admit.
  23. Rich, if that is the case, that may say something very serious about the organization as a whole. It's one thing for an employee to make a mistake, even a seemingly dumb one, it happens. Good organizations will try and make people feel that mistakes can happen, but when they do, it needs to get reported and corrected. Essentially, that making a mistake is not the end of the world. But it is entirely a different story when an employee makes a mistake and then believes that the best course of action is to quietly fix it, not tell anyone and hope that everything will just work itself out.It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. Serious about the organization or one specific employee? As I said it is possible a single employee fixed it and didn't even think of the ramifications. Either way, pure speculation on my part. I've worked with many different organizations over the years and it still surprises me how little employees know how their specific job fits into the larger picture or how their mistakes may impact something else. I find it hard to believe the organization messed this up on purpose or purposefully tried to mislead the public, especially when they announced the pot had gone unclaimed. The likely answer is someone put it up, noticed it was wrong and fixed it. And they would have no clue if someone had phoned to inquire. Thank God in the end it just all worked out and hopefully it has been a lesson for their internal controls on this.
  24. Another (likely in my opinion) possibility is that whoever messed up on the website fixed it and never escalated the fact to anyone else as they didn't want to get in trouble or didn't realize the full impact of what it might have meant.
