Here is a pic of the press conference. Notice the color of the shirts that Lapo and O'Shea are wearing?

Right now Rogers cell plan in Manitoba are significantly cheaper than Roger plans in Ontario. Lowest tier in ON is 500 MB data, unlimited calling / texting / messaging for $70 In MB its lowest tier is 2 GB data, unlimited calling / texting / messaging for $50 The MB plan is cheaper to compete with MTS. If MTS ever gets bought out by one of the National carriers, expect to pay ON like pricing since there will be no local competition to bring the price down.

It is not that curious. No way leaves TSN for a 1 year contract. If he was the guy they wanted, he needed some security.

Let's not forget that this is Lowry's second season in the league. Many players go through the sophomore slump. Get used to it as we add a few rookies every year, you will see inconsistencies and struggles from them.

I don't know, me and you live here year round and we don't hang out. Lapo spent 3 years as a receiver coach with the Argos in 2000, 2001, and 2006. So O'Shea was with Hamilton in 2000, Toronto 2001 and on. Don't know how much a LB would interact with a receiver's coach.

I think Scheifele gets the long term deal and Trouba gets a bridge deal, unless they could get Trouba to sign long term around $4 -5M AAV (which I don't think his agent would do). But we really don't know what Trouba is going to grow into, so a long term contract could be a risk for both sides. (overpaying for the Jets, not maximizing payout for Trouba) Unless of course they end up losing both Ladd and Buff, then that opens up space going forward to sign them both to longer term higher contracts, and some stability going forward.

This isn't surprising. Unless the Jets are ready to pay the moon, both sides would want to see how he progresses this season before hammering out a contract.

What we learned from the Jets skills competition

I just don't get who benefits if it is rigged? Why would you rig it? And why would the players agree? -

If it was rigged why would they make Pistma and Chiarot win? -
Maurice: "I'll Live Here My Whole Life"
Rich replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Interesting article from Jetsnation.ca comparing Noel (177 games coached with the Jets) and Maurice (now around 150 games coached) http://jetsnation.ca/2015/12/2/two-graphs-comparing-claude-noel-and-paul-maurice This graph is the 5 v 5 shot differential (where all shots are defined as goals, saves, misses, and blocks.) Which is an indicator of how a team controls the play. Of course the article goes on to criticize the team with the Special Teams shot differential because of the penalties the Jets take under Maurice, but that 5 on 5 graph is crazy with how he started turning that around after about 25 games coached. Could argue he has had better players than Noel the last 2 years, but he had them going in the right direction in the second half of the season he took over. -
How much more air time would this video get?

Myers is getting Buff syndrome. 2 minutes for being too big.

Does anybody know why we lost the Henoc Muamba sweepstakes?

I don't begrudge any athlete going for the money. Their careers are incredibly short and will be cut without the remorse the moment their skills deteriorate. -
Is his contract up in Calgary?

For 2016, the Draft Lottery will be utilized to determine the top three slots, with 14 teams in the mix for the top pick, the 13 teams for the second overall pick and 12 remaining teams for third overall. That means that the team finishing dead last would be guaranteed to draft no lower than fourth overall.

I think the new logo is a ploy to get the Federal Government to kick in money down the road to make the maple leaf in the new logo bigger.

If this is all it is (and I don't at all know if it is), I wouldn't call this a character issue. People are allowed to have their own preferences on where and what type of city they would like to live in. Having a preference for something other than where you are currently isn't a character issue.

Did you really just put Pardy as a top pairing defencemen?

The Kane trade was actually a pretty significant trade. Trades like that are a rarity in this day in age. As to the UFA's in the off season, I don't think it has anything to do with price. As a case in point, look at Stempniak who ended the season with the Jets last year. He would have re-signed here, he just wasn't offered a contract. He had to sign a PTO with New Jersey and then signed for 800k. He is 2nd in scoring with New Jersey right now. A lot of forwards had to take a discount last season in free agency due to demand for them being so low, this had nothing to do with price. The Jets could have afforded them, this was a conscious decision to go younger and make some room for some rookies. The problem is they gave too many of them a job with no real competition out of TC. Hopefully long term, this season is a blip and chalked up to growing pains for a young team.

This team is just not good enough.
-
So they didn't have a contract. They had an email that was rescinded two days later. In two days, they hired enough people for this job that they need to recover $40k ?

I wouldn't say he's GM of the year... but his one year with us he found quite a few solid guys from down south who immediately could play the CFL game. Now we can't even find a healthy decent receiver ... it seems like any guy we find with talent is injury plague or he's just filler Couple things: 1) We don't know what he did or what Mack did.... 2) Just because you can scout talent, doesn't make you a great GM... Wasn't John Murphy here with Mike Kelly? I thought Mack fired John Murphy shortly after taking over.

Didn't have anywhere else to put this, so thought I would start a thread for the Grey Cup game itself. Here is a link from June on the odds of each team winning the Grey Cup. http://cfl.ca/article/cauzs-annual-take-on-grey-cup-odds Interesting that Ottawa had the worst odds of any team of winning the Grey Cup at the beginning of the season. 20 : 1
