I don't think anyone wants Brohm back next year. Regardless of what Walters says in a press conference, proof will be if he brings Brohm back next year. If he does, then I agree we have a problem.

If wishes and buts were candies and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas. Pretty much every team with the exception of Ottawa had their starter go down. Look back over the last number of years. In today's CFL, it is highly unlikely your starting QB is going to play all 18 games, so what is the point of even hypothesizing what would would happen if he were healthy. Chances are Willy will miss a number of games next year too. Now perhaps the QB depth is a failing of Walters and the scouting staff, but I don't think losing a starting QB can be an excuse any more. Every team has to deal with it.

You can't be serious with this post. He kept 2 people on that he knew couldn't do the job, so that he could have them around to fire , to save his job? There is no list. At least one that were aware of, so you don't know if other team's coordinators are, or aren't, on this list/no list. You seriously think that he'd still be around now if he'd fired Tracey and MB last year and still had a similar record? The other alternative is that he actually thought those two coordinators were good at their jobs, which brings his ability to tell good from bad into question. The list I'm talking about is the names that the fans and media have been putting together. PLAP, Buck, Khari, Howell, etc... Better choices would be Brady, Condell, Cortez. Guys who have options who we'd have to pay more and who would want to move to get a shot at a HC job and/or to get out from the shadow of good HC's. I doubt O'Shea would want to pick one of them though because they would all be better choices for the HC job too. This question has nothing to do with claiming a coach is keeping coaches on to protect himself from being fired. O'Shea was on H&L yesterday and was asked if he would offer someone an associate HC position to attract the right person (no names mentioned because they would all still be under contract and likely in playoff hunts) his answer was unequivocally yes. He even went on to say that one of the things he views as his responsibility is the long term stability of the club and that means bringing in the right personnel for that.
-
Yep, I think that impact is one of the things he wants to review.
-
Heard him on H&L on the drive home yesterday and they asked him about the Special Teams Coordinator. He wants time to evaluate how things went after he took over before he makes a decision.

So you've forgotten how good Willy has been for us? And forgotten that Bellefeuille made Calvillo look like a slow release slow read drop back pocket passer too? Drew Willy absolutely can be the franchise guy for this team. Willy has shown incredible toughness at times. But I can think of only one or two games when I thought 'Wow - Drew Willy played great and won that game for us." Mostly he's been unable to muster the O when it counts. His lack of success can't be pinned entirely on Bellefeuille though. While it is time for the Bombers to part ways with Marcel, they should have done so last year. Going forward, I worry about cap space and the QB position and whether we can recruit real competition for the #1 QB job when we are committed to paying Willy $400k. It seems ridiculous that MOS would hamstring the incoming OC by declaring Willy the starter since we don't even know if he'll pass the physical come TC 2016. MOS is the head coach. And while I realized defense / ST is his background, and he would take any input from an OC, but the final decision on roster management, including starting QBs, is his. The buck stops with him.

No worries. All is well in my timeline.

By his own admission he was so drunk he can't say for sure what happened ... He can only spectate. I've been there, not fun to wake up the next morning and friends tell you what happened. Then again I was also in my early twenties at the time.
-
I was thinking the same thing with drunk driving ... But if he is blind, we'd have even bigger problems if he was driving.

If you don't think something like this is newsworthy, you shouldn't run for public office. I actually don't understand why anyone would want the scrutiny of public office.

'NHL is ready for gay player,'
Rich replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
You're remarks about Fleury show you're not having fun. You legit believe your nonsense. Not my expense at all! No I just like to bug local wrestling folks because they are extra sensitive. They are a unique culture of massively insecure and overly dramatic peoples. Mostly the ones who take it so seriously. I know you've read or used to read old wrestling forums, they are great deal of fun of people taking the internet way to seriously. It's ok i'll stop bugging you and clearly I don't believe in that stuff. Sorry to have offended your culture. So you are basically admitting that you are being a troll here? -
There is a reason fan is short for fanatic.
-
I wonder when they planned this and if they would still have done it if this game meant anything. If we needed to win for a playoff spot would you want our coach on the field during half time? Good on Mike for an excellent playing career.

'NHL is ready for gay player,'
Rich replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
There are many people who are gay and are not at all comfortable coming out because of the backlash and perceptions and hate that they would receive. Just because you don't do it or don't see it happening, does not mean that gay people don't experience it or have anything to fear. Are things getting better then they were? Yes. Are they perfect? No. Like it or not, celebrities coming out help being gay "accepted" by a larger portion or people, which in turn make people more comfortable leaving the life they want to without feeling the need to hide it. -
I'm more interested in the timing of those comments. Was it after everything blew up with the track suit of before. Also curious how long Cheveldayoff (prior to that incident) was seriously trying to trade Kane, other than the usual discussions GMs would have on players.

If Buff goes to UFA, we'll know that Buffalo is out of the running.

Hollywood fantasy... It's fun to watch & get into as a fan (which I enjoy) but nothing based on reality. A theory is just that, a theory. Therefore if that theory is used not based on scientific fact, it is therefore a fantasy. I understand. Relativity is only a theory, so it is fantasy.

Science Fiction implies that what is written in it is not real or it is imagined. Or not based in reality. The science part is mostly the fiction part. So there was a time that the Earth orbiting around the Sun rather then the Sun orbiting around the Earth was pure fantasy? The earth being round instead of flat was pure fantasy but now it is fiction?? At what point does fantasy become Science Fiction before it becomes reality? To me Science Fiction revolves around some future or alternate world where these is advanced science and / or technology for the things they do, and usually involves outer space. Fantasy is typically some land or different world that is still in or around the bronze / iron age, has no computers or combustion engines and has some sort of magic. There are of course some works that blur the lines of both.

The real question, and the only one that really matters ... is if you were just a downloaded consciousness, would you still post on MBB?

I've gone down a bit of a worm hole on this one, I've been reading a few articles on this the past couple of days and some of it is really weird. The theory basically is that our universe has at some point in the last 20 years collapsed with another parallel universe where some things are slightly different but our memories of them from the original universe remain with us. Here is a website with some of the more common "differences" that people remember http://mandelaeffect.com/major-memories The name comes from the fact that many people remember Mandela dying in prison 1980's where in (this) reality he died 2013. Other common ones seem to be: Childrens book: The Berenstein Bears or The Berenstain Bears? Breakfast cereal: Fruit Loops or Froot Loops Forrest Gump: Was the famous line “Life IS like a box of chocolates…” or “Life WAS like a box of chocolates…”? JIFFY or JIF peanut butter? Looney Toons or Looney Tunes? Was the TV show Sex In The City or Sex And The City Reba McIntyre or Reba McEntire Peanuts creator Charles Shulz or Charles Shultz? Mr Rogers opening song: It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood” or “It’s a beautiful day in this neighborhood”? Gremlins character: Was it Spike or Stripe? Kathy Lee Gifford or Kathie Lee Gifford? Star Wars, is it “Luke, I am your father” or “No, I am your father”? In each of these above, the 2nd version is the correct one if you look it up. There are many other examples on the website, but these stuck out for me. Alternate universe or just a case of people making an error and it getting repeated so often we come to accept it as true.

Lawless today said that he was talking with another CFL GM and they are suggesting that if the Bombers do keep O'Shea they should extend him by at least 1 year. The theory being is that assistant coaches never get a contract longer than the head coach currently has. And if you want to sign a quality OC to replace Marcel, then you will need to offer them 2 years minimum. No quality OC will come here for a one year deal with a lame duck head coach. Another reason to fire O'Shea now?
