  1. BC and Winnipeg cannot mathematically host a playoff game. Edmonton and Calgary have it tied up. Best either team can do is 3rd in the West.
  2. Depending on what has been said and done with negotiations, I would consider trading him if they don't think he is going to be back next year.
  3. It is easy to say that but the work to get the funding, the land, the buy in is very difficult and complex. Look at the outrage there was when they tore down Eatons. Many competing groups and diversified interests all play a part. They built the best arena they could at the time and had the foresight to make sure it would be big enough IF the NHL ever returned. It is a little cramped and small for total size, but it is part of the charm that has accompanied the return of the Jets.
  4. CGY (11-4) & EDM (11-4) are battling for the first round bye and WSF homefield advantage. If both keeps their winning ways it would be a tight race to the finish. I believe CGY has the tie-breaker. Same thing in the East for HAM (9-5), TOR (9-5) and OTT (8-6). HAM has all the tie-breakers. Ths is a tight 3-race (WSF home, ESF home, 3rd West/crossover) to the finish. I see no team resting players. The standings on CFL.ca currently has Edmonton in 1st place and Calgary in 2nd. So I think Edmonton has the tie breaker.
  5. Apologize for the outage. The company that hosts the website experienced a huge outage that took a lot longer to get back up than it should of.
  6. Mostly special teams. In years passed those backup Canadian receivers that seem to be missing from this roster would play on teams and be backups in case of injury. (Unless your name was Jade Etienne)
  7. Just wondering, do these polls reach people through social media or are they conducted as in the past, strictly by phone? • Ballot tracking reflects only the first choice given by decided voters • A national dual-frame (land+cell) random telephone survey is conducted nightly by Nanos Research throughout the campaign using live agents. Each evening a new group of 400 eligible voters are interviewed. The daily tracking figures are based on a three-day rolling sample comprised of 1,200 interviews. To update the tracking a new day of interviewing is added and the oldest day dropped. The margin of error for a survey of 1,077 decided voters is ±3.0 percentage points, 19 times out of 20. • The margin of error for weekly surveys before Sept. 4 is ±3.1 percentage points, 19 times out of 20 This is way off topic, but if there are any statisticians out there, can you tell me why they phrase things like this. Is the margin of error +/- 3 or not .... if this happens to be the 20th time, what is the margin of error? Or is it completely unknown? 19/20 is 95% so why not just build that other 5% of uncertainty into the +/- 3. It all seems a little hodge-podge.
  8. We gotta be catching up after the Calgary and Edmonton games! I think the Bombers are leading the league in game busting bad calls by the refs. You guys have had some costly penalties at bad times late in the game. But don't be thinking you guys are stealing our first overall pick, we fired Taman so he couldn't trade it and have Kerry Joseph on speed dial if we need to. In fact we threw the games against you because we knew those points would be big later in the season. Even if we finish in last and SK in 2nd last, you still get the first overall pick. We spent ours in last years supplemental draft.
  9. They should now be in for both of you.
  10. Deleted a few posts. There really is no need to call out and try to put down other posters
  11. If people send me their picks before a game starts I will put them in. It is setup this way because it is way too much manual work to enter the date and time for each game.
  12. Emotion has a lot to do with our attachments to our sports teams. Can't blame a generation who doesn't have an attachment to someone they didn't see play and are only numbers in the record book.
  13. If her story is indeed true, I'm wondering if a) Tyler Johnson had a significant other while this happened and if yes is this person aware? My point here is its amazing how many people can be potentially hurt by her sharing this story with the world. Or if you don't want to deal with the consequences of being found out that you were cheating ... don't cheat.
  14. There will be injuries at some point this year and I am sure he will be among the first call ups. You wonder if both him and Lipon don't get a chance at some point this season. It also gives you options if Petan struggles at the NHL level and they decide he needs some time with the Moose.
  15. 9 team league, I think they needed at least one of these weeks where there are 5 games to make the schedule work. So there really isn't much of a choice. It may also have to do with Rogers Centre scheduling, so Toronto plays this Tuesday then next Monday.
  16. That honesty would be refreshing. I think we saw that show with Tim Burke.
  17. This paragraph implies it is tested for. I think they want to increase it from a 1/3 being tested for it to all samples collected.
  18. So with the Jets about to open their 5th season, thought it would be fun to go back and see what our roster was to open the inaugural season. Not 100% sure on line combos but I believe the roster looked something like this: Forwards Ladd Little Wheeler Kane Scheifele Wellwood (Scheifele was on his 9 game tryout before being sent down) Burmistrov Antropov MacLean (That is Brett MacLean for those of you who don't remember him) Glass Slater Thorburn 13th Forward: Tim Stapleton (Fehr was on IR) Defense Enstrom Byfuglien Stuart Bogosian Oduya Hainsey 7th & 8th D: Randy Jones & Derek Meech Goalies Pavelec Mason
  19. You mean a Canadian as we play 8. Kicker has nothing to do with the starting 8 (or 7). If we replace Liram with an American, then one of our existing Americans has to come off and another Canadian on for Liram.
  20. If the horrible mismanagement and coaching of the past three regimes haven't totally turned the faithful off, I suspect that we will continue to live in hope that next year will finally be better. Everyone has a breaking point where hope isn't enough anymore. There comes a time when talk (and token firings) are nothing but cheap parlour tricks. Comes a time when you have used up all your free chances and people won't come back until you prove you are worthy. I consider myself about as hardcore as they come for a Bomber fan. Don't want to think of the money I've spent on tickets and jerseys and memorabilia over the years. I will still be in the stands next year because I bought Grey Cup tickets and committed to the season tickets for the next couple of years. But for the first time in ..... forever ... I have found myself questioning why I continue to buy season tickets. Although the last two games have been more entertaining, I'm tired of fighting traffic and paying inflated food and drink prices to watch a subpar team where I have little hope that they will win. Maybe you are right, maybe I'm the minority in that ... but the conversations I hear between people when walking out of the stadium don't give me hope that others aren't feeling the same way.
  21. What I think is they should do what is best for the club going forward and not what is best for ticket sales. Sales will suffer regardless.
  22. I predict that there is a huge drop in attendance next year whether OShea is fired or not. Been too many rebuilds in the last 10 years. Cleaning house won't give hope anymore No more benefit of the doubt. Have to win to get fans back at this point.
