  1. Jays clinch a playoff spot.
  2. What does this mean? He is still under contract with his European contract even on a PTO with the Jets? He needs to sign a one way deal to get out of his European contract?
  3. He was tweeting his new Moose equipment yesterday, so this was never really a surprise... Isn't Pav and Hutch both on their last years of their current contracts? I'm sure next season the guy will be with the Jets and possibly start the year after. Pav has one more year after this. Hutch will be an RFA next year.

  5. Hmm if that's confirmed in what he said, I guess O'Shea himself, as a professional CFL head coach, is thinking whimsical preposterous thoughts.Ya it's confirmed. He said it twice. You think I'm lying? No, not at all. Thank you for posting this. I just wanted to confirm he said it. I was slammed repeatedly by Mr. Dee, WBBFan, Rich, Mike and a few others for talking nonsense, being preposterous and whimsical, why I couldn't be a professional football coach for suggesting that it would have been wise for our head coach to have thrown that challenge flag on that play to slow everything down. Now it's confirmed he agrees. So I'm assuming these same posters will direct their wrath at our Head Coach now for the exact same criticisms they directed towards me. Just because the coach changed his mind, doesn't mean I did. I disagreed with your opinion, but I don't believe I accused you of any of those things. I don't think a coach should waste a challenge on a play he has no evidence will be overturned as you never know what the following play will be and if you wish you still had your challenge and or time-outs. So why would I direct any wrath at the head coach?
  6. Was at the game last night. Wow, that new score clock is bigger than I thought it would be. There were times it actually seemed clearer watching the screen on the score clock then the play live. Thankfully, the new loge seating doesn't block the view from my seats. First two periods weren't that exciting. Nice to see them come back from behind and win it. Maurice talked a lot last year about progression and steps where the team has to go. In the Anaheim playoff series he talked about how they have been in their system for years and can execute it faster and without thinking. I think I started to see that from the Jets last night. Most passes were on spot, the players knew where their linemates would be and could move out quickly. Hoping that progression helps the team into this year as well.
  7. I wonder how much of a chance the Bombers even had. Edmonton has a championship calibre defence and a chance to make some noise in the playoffs and playoff money. Plus he gets to play with his brother again. We are likely not going to make the playoffs ... again. Even if the offers are the same dollar wise, why would he choose here. And for all the reasons stated above, is it worth coming back with more than what Edmonton offered.
  8. I think we should explore this angle a little more. First we will need a protractor.
  9. YOU BLAMED ADAMS! Also, I didnt quote anything out of context or even order. You said Adams was just ss much to blame.. When he wasnt. He was on side.. Asked and was shown to be good.. And STILL in correct placement after switching feet. are you seriously that adverse to be shown wrong? Does being incorrect hurt you physically or something? Or maybe you just missed this post after he saw the video.... You quoted his older post after he saw the video and posted this:
  10. Blueandgold was one of three people who went 4 for 4 last week, increasing his cushion on first place with 40 correct picks. saskbluefan is in second with 37 and Atomic in third with 36. Leader board can be seen here: http://morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=leaderboard&pid=6&wid=84 Picks this week need to be in by Thursday at 6PM. Picks can be made here: http://morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=games&pid=6&wid=85
  11. The investment in a sports team is mostly in its value, not yearly revenue. You buy it for $500 Million, sell it for $750 million. That and / or a vanity type thing for rich owners with more money then they know what to do with. Here is a report where the bottom third of NHL teams don't even make a profit. Even the Jets only turned $3.3M (which isn't a lot when you think about how much a player makes). The Maple Leafs, Rangers, Canadian, etc of the NHL certainly bring in lots of money, but they are the exception. http://www.forbes.com/nhl-valuations/list/#page:1_sort:6_direction:asc_search:
  12. I've been debating whether or not to post this because I'm not sure how much public scrutiny officials really deserve. There is a reason their names aren't on the back of their jerseys. It is a thankless job and I don't want some bozo doing something inappropriate off the field to anyone. But there seems to be a history with one of the officials in Friday's game. According to the official stats, this is the officiating crew from Friday night: It is the Head Linesman and Line Judge who stand at either side of the line of scrimmage. If you look at the faces of the referees in the video footage, it would appear that Rick Berezowski is the official in question, though I'm not 100% sure of that. I couldn't find a shot that shows what number he wore. What is more interesting is that official has been a "problem" for the CFL in the past (though that previous call was in favour of the Bombers). This is a story from 2011. http://www2.tsn.ca/story/?id=377334 And according to this story that was written around that time in 2011, he has been on the bubble before : http://www.sportsnet.ca/football/cfl/side-judge-replaced/ Note how he has refused to pick up the flag in the past, even at the suggestion of his fellow officials. So I decided to post this because the CFL cannot continue to award and hire incompetence in their officiating. Especially when there is a recurring history.
  13. It wouldn't cost any less. All teams spend to the same cap. The way the money is distributed may change, but teams would spend the exact same on salaries.
  14. Good luck to him in his post-football career. Have to look out for your health when you can.
  15. Saw a new NDP commercial last night. It was a "copy / parody" of the Conservatives commercial where the group of people are discussing the merits of Trudeau, but in this one they are discussing Harper. Right down to the end when they said that "Harper has nice hair though". Made me laugh. Still won't make me vote for them.
  16. Wonder what the cost breakdown was for buying the team? 50/50 between him and Mr. Thompson? Here's a look at the steepness of the upper deck. http://www.thehockeynews.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Quebec-Arena-Inside.jpg Hope there's no obstructed views Is the cut out on the left side for a lounge/club seats? That makes way more sense then ours being in the end zone area. I think ours was in the end zone as a "carry over" from the old arena. After the Moose took over the old Winnipeg Stadium, they renovated one of the ends to have a lounge area. Then they seemed to replicate that in MTS Centre. Also, with the smaller size of MTS Centre, you lose less prime seating by having it at the end.
  17. I don't think they should give him an extension. And it would make him a bit of a lame duck coach. But that is what he kind of is. Maybe an OC would view it as a chance to move up if he were fired.
  18. No other thread really to put this in, other then Chipman & Co certainly bought in at the right time, and have increased their investment quite nicely.
  19. Most coaches do care because it does make a difference in how a player plays the position and how comfortable they are playing out of position. Some can some can't. None of our RHD have shown they can play the left side that well. I can understand why they want to try. To get our 4 best D-men more ice time, one of them has to move. But if the experiment doesn't work, don't expect it to last long.
  20. How is that the solution when it has been shown that Adams was only a half yard off the line, well within the rules? There was no illegal procedure on the play. It only makes matters worse that the ref said he was fine, then after the play changed his mind.
  21. If you take a look at the other players drafted around Armia in the 1st round, there are some that have played more NHL games than him, but not many. Different players mature at different times. He will be 23 in May. He does have to start showing something soon. But time hasn't passed him yet.
  22. So I believe that leaves: Forwards: Andrew Ladd Adam Lowry Bryan Little Thomas Raffl* Chris Thorburn Andrew Copp Alex Burmistrov Drew Stafford Anthony Peluso Blake Wheeler Nic Petan Nikolaj Ehlers JC Lipon Mark Scheifele Mathieu Perreault Defence: Mark Stuart Jacob Trouba Toby Enstrom Tyler Myers Adam Pardy Paul Postma Ben Chiarot Jay Harrison Dustin Byfuglien Goalies: Ondrej Pavelec Connor Hellebuyck Michael Hutchinson 27 Players and need to get down to 23. So that leaves 4 more cuts barring anyone going to the IR. I think the following will be sent down: Connor Hellebuyck JC Lipon Jay Harrisson (or Pardy) Anthony Peluso (or Raffl) Alternatively they may keep all 9 D-men and send Petan down as he wouldn't have to clear waivers, and bring Petan back up as injuries happen. Much more flexibility to carry 9 D-men with the Moose in Winnipeg as it means you can quickly bring up a forward if you need to.
