Here is an interesting article on the Jets prospects, how they did at this years draft and Chevy's philosophy. http://www.todaysslapshot.com/nhl-prospects-2/nhl-prospects-winnipeg-jets-top-5-for-2015/

Probably Postmas last contract with the Jets. Wonder if he is traded at some point.

Can't see Morrissey making the Jets out of camp. Too many NHL defensemen ahead of him. Could see him being a potential injury call-up during the season to get a chance. The way things are shaping up right now, barring any more signings, I think a minimum of two rookie forwards and maybe up to three. I think they are: Copp as 4th line centre And one or two of Ehlers, Petan, Armia, Lemieux

I'll give credit to Friesen for publishing an alternative view to his prior article. Dunigan ways in on the Willy hit and says he believes Willy didn't suffer a concussion. Whatever side of the fence you fall on, or whatever you believe, truth is only Willy really knows what happened, how he was hit, and whether or not he lost consciousness. http://www.winnipegsun.com/2015/07/09/blue-bombers-quarterback-drew-willy-not-afraid-to-take-a-hit-vs-alouettes -
Is that allowed? I thought if you have junior eligibility left you have to go back to junior. You are correct. He will either be with the Jets or sent back down to Juniors next year. No Moose for Lemieux.

How does everybody feel about this "coverage"
Rich replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
The best sports writers in the country don't cover the CFL. Why would you expect the best from the B Team? You are pretty quick to criticize the club and coaches but happy to give the media a pass. Two weeks in and people are starting to separate themselves. Picking has been tough in the first couple weeks of the CFL season as teams establish their pecking orders. Fist place is currently a four-way tie between: Blueandgold Jacquie Mark F USABomberFan All with 5 out of 8 correct picks. Week 3 picks need to be in before 8PM on Thursday. Picks can be made here: http://morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=games&pid=6&wid=73

There is a difference between reporting nothing (ie. not tweeting at all) And reporting that you are doing nothing. -

I disagree with this. In this new media age, tweeting is part of their job. It should be used to push followers / readers to their columns. It should be to gain trust from and expand their followers base to drive more traffic to their respective papers. Those tweets do nothing to make me want to read tomorrow's column. At least for Bob Irving, he doesn't have a column. -
I think it will end up being an AAV of just over $6M per year ... around $6.2 Hopefully doesn't take him past 35.

I don't think Petan will stick with the club if he is put on the 4th line. He will be better served getting top line minutes with the Moose. However, the only way I could see it happening, is if Maurice goes with a big change in how the 4th line is used. No doubt that the Jets early playoff exit was in part to injury and the amount of minutes the top line guys logged. It was often a story about how little the Jets 4th line is used when compared to some of the other teams with better depth like St Louis. I wonder if they put more skilled guys down there, if they don't get more playing time. A possibility, but I find it an unlikely scenario.

I'm skeptical. Got an example? edit see you gave an example. That's one. maybe. being promoted after demoted doesn't sound like much punishment. And If there are consequences to the refs, they should let us fans know, might reduce the anger that people feel when refs like this one blow it so badly, and as far as I know, there is no consequence. If there is, tell us. Every body in football is subject to public criticism except the refs. Makes no sense to me. The refs performance are reviewed each week with what they did well and what they missed. If you want them to be held accountable with fines, I do not believe that happens. They are held accountable in terms of future work and promotions / bonuses to ref playoff games, etc. I don't believe refs should be held accountable or fined in the public. Refs already take enough crap from fans. It should stay between the league and the teams. I don't know how much a CFL ref makes, but I can't imagine being all that much compared to other professional sports (6 figures). Good luck attracting better qualified people if their names and reputation are going to be dragged through the papers as well. At least with a player or coach you have the chance to get accolades and recognition with a job well done. Win a Grey Cup? Get a ring. Make a good play? Get on the highlight reel. Tops at what you do? Get paid in free agency. Do your job as a ref? No one notices, it is just expected you get everything right. Screw up? Have 30,000 people screaming obscenities at you and your employer throwing you under the bus. -

I still remember the still photo of Alex Brink being hit in the chin by a Montreal helmet and being sent flying, while Murray Clarke just watches impassively and makes no move to throw a flag. That's how I know refs are held accountable. Clarke has been demoted a couple of times. The real question is why they kept promoting him. -

Refs are held accountable. Just not publicly. -
The right hand side is the leaderboard for the week. So that is your two correct picks. The left hand side is the overall leaderboard. You would be in that tie with 3 picks, but it looks like it cuts off after the top 25 so you aren't displayed. If you want to double check, go here: http://morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=week&pid=6 At the very bottom it should say: You have made X correct picks out of a total of X games picked in this pool.
-
This has been fixed. For anyone who already has their picks in, the team you originally picked is still picked. You can still change them up until Thursday at game time.
-
I should look at the settings. I don't think a tie is an option. Meaning I wouldn't be able to put in a result. So no one would get a win or loss on the game.
