  1. If I didn't have to pay for my exhibition ticket as part of my season ticket package, I probably wouldn't want to pay full price for it either. It is exhibition, nobody wants to pay full price for that. It is why they offer the buddy vouchers. Having said that, my ticket was paid for some time ago, so I am looking forward to the game this week!
  2. Both of course.
  3. I wouldn't go that high in Frolik which is why he is unlikely to sign here.
  4. He is a UFA, we aren't going to get anything for him.
  5. We ended up getting Jimmy Lodge, JC Lipon, Jan Kostalek and Tucker Poolman in that trade. 4 solid prospects. It's not like we would have won the Cup if Oduya was here. I just don't understand the thought process of some fans. Yes I do love that Oduya trade, especially considering he was going to be a UFA when we traded him. And while Chicago got a great deal on his subsequent contract, they are a contending team and we never would have gotten that deal if he would have even re-signed.
  6. I think this thread is done
  7. This thread had long stopped being about football and was about one person doing his schtick. If it means going back to that, no thanks. Just stare into the glass eye. Hours will melt away. It was about more than one person. His schtick would be done after one post if people didn't constantly poke the bear.
  8. Congratulations to the Chicago Blackhawks. 3 cups in 6 years. As close as you get to a dynasty in this day and age.
  9. Deleted a bunch of crap out of this thread. People are entitled to their opinions no matter how much you disagree with them. You can argue against their opinion, but there is no need to start calling people out and calling them names. Keep this thread on the topic of people getting cut. Thanks.
  10. That's tough to do when the schedule is mostly built around weekend games. I wonder what it would do to ratings and attendance if more games were held mid-week.
  11. Left Hand Defensemen
  12. Comments like this make me wonder if people often forget that this is a guy's career we're talking about. Exactly. I don't doubt that he likes it here and wants to be here. But at the same time he would be foolish to re-sign as a 3rd string QB without exploring other options. If he is still 3rd string by the end of the season, I would expect him to at least check to see if he could get a better offer and situation with another team. But that doesn't mean we should cut him now. Who knows what can happen in a season. He may move up the depth chart by season end and choose to sign an extension. If he doesn't then we get one more year of his services. If we cut him now we get nothing more from him.
  13. Thread has been cleaned up a bit, Can we please get back to discussing football and not singling out individual posters?
  14. Fixed it for you. The pasting will sometimes pick up formatting from whatever web page you copied it from. If you want no formatting, you can either paste as text or if you notice the formatting when you paste it in, highlight the text and click the "Remove Format" Button (looks kind of like an eraser but is the second button from the left, top row of the toolbar in the editor). Welcome to the site!
  15. It's not your logins, it's what you set up your original shaw account information ie. Your email address and the password when you set up your original shaw account. Actually I just got in to TSN Go now. I have an email that is linked to shaw that they send my electronic bills to, but that one didn't work. I had to go into the shaw site and setup a XXXXX@shaw.ca email address and used that one to login. If you use shaw for your email already, I'm guessing that one would work, I've just never setup an email address with shaw before.
  16. If you wonder why people get upset at what you post, it is mostly because you rarely have anything positive to say or comment on the team. It makes people wonder if you really like the team Most of your posts, even if they are 'fact' come across as criticism. Saying the Bombers aren't playing to win is a true statement. Saying the Bombers are playing to evaluate players is another true statement. One smacks of criticism and complaining and the other is understanding how preseason games work. BTW I'm not saying you aren't a fan or the like. I do believe you're a huge Bomber fan and supporter. You wouldn't be here as much as you are if you weren't. Just thought I'd illustrate why people react the way they do to a lot of your posts. Also if the bottom part of the TC roster has no chance of making the team such that they don't deserve even a chance to play in a preseason game to show what they can do in real action, why do we bother bringing them in?
  17. Chat room will be up and should have a decent turnout since it is an away game.
  18. Sometimes the coaches do have a method to their madness. June 14th - after the 1st preseason game and before the 2nd preseason game - is the first cutdown day. Rosters need to be down to 65 players. So that first preseason game is really the only shot some of those fringe players will have at making a case at staying. These fringe players and backups are going to be injury replacements during the year, so it is important to get an in game evaluation of them even if they aren't likely to be playing. I would also rather give more of the pencilled in starters more time in the 2nd preseason game to ramp up and get into a rhythm for when the games actually matter. Best argument for taking so many fringe players so far. I kind of doubt, however, that players who don't make it to the second week of TC will become our injury replacements. I'd hope that they'd come from the guys who just failed to make the first game roster and maybe those kind of cuts from other teams. Exactly the point. It is making sure you keep the right players for the backup roles. Seeing guys in practice is one thing, but you can't really judge how a player reacts to in game situations from just practice. How they tackle, how they break through tackles, how they deal with actual full blown contact on the line. All the things you don't do in scrimmages and practices. The point of pre-season is really about individual assessment in how they play when the bullets fly to determine who is a "baller" and who isn't.
  19. Not my call. Haven't been to camp to see them. Don't have access to the meetings, film, etc. Coaches make those decisions. Coaches make the decisions and you criticize those decisions even though you don't have access to practices, meetings, film, etc. The old 'the coaches know more than anyone else' argument. Bomber coaches have crafted 1 winning season since 2008, or 1 in the last 7 seasons, so I don't feel bad about not blindly accepting their decisions. If they can eek out some better records, then I'd put more trust in their decisions. So what do you go by, then? You don't trust the coaches and argue they're bringing the wrong type of players to the exhibition game, but you say that the decision on who to bring is up to the coaches and you have no input on who that should be. If you think they're the wrong players, that's a totally fair opinion to have, but then suggest who those right players are -- otherwise, it's an opinion based on nothing but spite for the coaches we've had in town the last 7 years. Which isn't a great way to analyze a roster. I already told everyone that I'd bring more of the starters, less of the fringe players. I'd bring the new players that are pencilled in as starters like Westerman and those who look like they are pushing for starting spots in TC. I'd leave those players who are 3 and 4 down the depth charts in Winnipeg and use them next week if they still have a chance to make the team by that time. We need to decide on who our starting Receivers and RB's will be. The O line on our roster will make it hard to analyse them. We need to decide who our starting LB's will be. The D line on the roster will make that analysis harder too. In short bring a more competitive roster that gives us the best shot at making the right decisions and give our new starters a chance to play with some of the guys they will need to be in sync with in the real season. Sometimes the coaches do have a method to their madness. June 14th - after the 1st preseason game and before the 2nd preseason game - is the first cutdown day. Rosters need to be down to 65 players. So that first preseason game is really the only shot some of those fringe players will have at making a case at staying. 20. Here is the schedule http://cfl.ca/schedule/year/2015/time_zone/0 All non-preseason games will be televised on TSN. Pre-season there are only a handful of games being televised.
  21. what's so great about lumberjack competitions anyway?
