  1. Wow, good for Glenn. I was expecting the patented last minute pick. Would be nice to see BC win this game so we can stay in 1st place.
  2. Wow ... would be passed out by half time.
  3. There are a few teams, like Chicago, who will have to trade something due to them being over the cap. Now, unless it is a huge block buster, can't see it being for one of the Jets higher salary guys (Kane or Buff) Off topic, but anyone think the Jets have a chance at signing Kevin Hayes? Former 1st round pick of the Blackhawks, if they don't sign him by August 15th, he will be a free agent.
  4. Miller and Dunnigan! Game is already looking better.
  5. Put this game out of its misery and hope for something more entertaining with the Lions and Stampeders
  6. If offered a HC job, which if one of these East teams like Montreal and Ottawa never get out of the hole, he probably will. Somehow, I don't know that he'd settle for an OC job with Higgins. Don't know what their history is together, but guessing he would want all the marbles as a HC. Don't think they've ever worked together. It really depends how badly he wants to get into coaching again. Chances are if he wants to get back to a head coach again he will have to go back to being a coordinator first. His stint in Winnipeg, regardless of the situation he was put in, was too much of a mixed bag. Also, I'm not sure Montreal is the right situation to "show" what he can do, especially if it is an interim mid season type of deal.
  7. I wonder if Lapo would go back to coaching. Has a pretty sweet gig with TSN, especially with a younger family. Wonder what the money is like.
  8. They should have hired a real OC when Worman was fired. Just delaying the inevitable and paying the price for waiting.
  9. "Sticky .... gotta make that stick" Classic Rod Black
  10. Brink back in... How is this helping?
  11. Boring half of football
  12. Brink in to the game.
  13. They have to quit panning to Don Mathews. He looks totally spaced out and disinterested sitting there, staring into space.
  14. Tells you how much I care about the Flames & I live in Calgary. Apparently he was in and out of the lineup. Played 62 games and was a healthy scratch for a bunch.
  15. Yes, last year
  16. All that really matters is that they executed and made the play. How many "high percentage" plays did we not make last year? This team is believing in itself and making things happen. Yeah they had a let down in the 2nd half, but came back when it mattered. Would the same people bitching about the play call be happy and singing the praises if they had called a "high percentage" play and missed on it? Willy put that ball exactly where he had to. Give him props for doing it and Grigsby catching it. They made the play what it mattered most.
  17. Nice that they are doing it against Winnipeg.

  19. There is something goofy going on during games which I believe is tied to the chat room, and it isn't tied to the number of people hitting the website. We should have no problems keeping up with any kind of traffic this site would get. I've noticed it during both away games now so it isn't a coincidence. (not home during home games so I'm not monitoring it). I logged a ticket with our hosting company during the last game, they didn't get to it until after the game was over, but they did say that the logs indicated that the server was running out of memory and constantly rebooting. They tried changing a few optimizations and have a few other ideas to try if it doesn't get fixed. People already in the chat room aren't affected as the chat room is hosted off site. We didn't see this last year as we were on a different hosting company and setup at the time. So, if you have problems with the site tonight during the game, please have patience, I'll be monitoring it and trying to get it fixed. If you want in the chat room, best to get in a little early before the game. If we are experiencing difficulties again, be patient and keep trying, the server will reboot and you will be able to get in before it runs out of memory and goes down again So the site went down again during the game. It looks like the load of people hitting the home page is just too great and causing server restarts. We are going to be looking at doing an upgrade to see if we can fix this. Should be minimal down time, if any. Good news that the site is getting this busy!
  20. If Muamba doesn't make it, wonder what the chances of him coming back are, or would he be more like to go play closer to home. Certainly hope we would make a monetary offer that would make him consider coming back here.

  22. Ignorant. You don't think a head coach who throws his players under the bus at every turn, who basically said that the talent level on the team isn't good enough to win, isn't a cancer in the room? You don't think that stuff doesn't bring the team down. Have you ever had a boss that everyone hated that when he walked into the room everyone shut up and was immediately on edge? I was never in the locker room, so I can't say this is how it was, but based on what I saw of his interviews, how he composed himself, how he spoke, and what he said, I would have a very hard time respecting what he did and said as a player. And that is the worst kind of cancer to bring to any team, because it permeates from the top down. Bashing people grows old very quickly, especially after they're gone. Tim Burke had his faults no doubt, being truthful and candid were probably a few of them but in most walks of life these traits are admired. How about Walters role in the 2013 season? In your mind does he walk free without absorbing any of the responsibility for the team's losing record? For the majority of the season he was the GM above even Tim Burke if I recall. What actions did he take to provide Burke with better players so that they could win? Is he absolved of all blame? The part of your statement that I bolded actually made me chuckle. If you ever find yourself in the back of a room grumbling about your boss or organization guess what? In that situation you are the "cancer" of which you speak. Seeing as how Joe Mack was fired mid way through the 2013 season, and since he only took over mid season I'm not sure what you expect that Kyle Walters could have done at that point in time. For example, it is widely known that Walters wanted to draft Edem, Mack overruled and drafted Mulumba. Seeing what Walters has done since gaining full control as GM, yes I give him a pass on the 2013 season. No where in my post did I mention employees grumbling about a boss or organization when they walked into the room. You added that. I've seen situations where a boss is so out to lunch that people just clam up when he walks in regardless of what they were just doing. As for you applauding and admiring Tim Burke's honesty, in no walk of like do I find it acceptable to pass the buck and blame other people when you were put in charge to lead. If you have problems with peoples performances, take them aside and keep it in house. Never do it in the media and never do it in front of others. Taking responsibility and saying you are going to right the ship, taking the blame for a situation when you are in charge (whether it is your fault or not), gets you respect and admiration, because the people on the inside of that situation know the truth. Passing the buck just adds to the problem. But on the flip side, I'm glad I was able to make you chuckle.
