I haven't seen anything unclassy about Buck himself, only about his play on the field, which has not been good. If you are in pro sports, then that kind of criticism is valid. No no, nothing unclassy at all. So one post from one poster deserves criticism of the posters "in general". Sometimes you need to look at the source to decide if you need to lend credence and weight to what is posted.

I don't think anyone hates Buck. You have to admire the guy's will and warrior mentality. He is just no longer able to be a starting QB. And for this organization to move on, he had to go. People are happy that we are now moving on. Professional sports sucks sometimes.

There seemed to be some odd clock management on the second last play of the game where the game clock ran down a few seconds when it shouldn’t have. I could have sworn the game clock started running before the 20 second clock. Then on the last play they completed a nice pass to get into range for the game winning field goal., but the Bisons receiver was kept upright and time ran down to 0 by the time they blew the whistle for stopped forward progress. Argument could definitely be made that there should have been 1 second left on the clock. But the whistle did blow with zero time on the clock. Overall, it was an entertaining game. The best game I had seen in the new stadium up until yesterday at the Banjo Bowl. The Bisons O looks to be potent this year. They seem to go for the big play a little too often for my liking, but it was very entertaining. I used to go to Bisons games regularly a few years back. I don’t know if it is just sitting in the new stadium, but the quality of play from both teams seems to be far superior to what it was back then. If you have never been to a Bisons game, should definitely check it out. Good entertainment for a $15 game ticket. Concessions were at full price. The new stadium has to be a huge boon to the Bisons. There was people constantly getting up and buying beer and food. Compare that to basically the hot dog cart they had before, and I’m sure they are making more money from concessions then game tickets.

You can't say that the lack of blitzing was Burke projected on to Creehan. The defense yesterday was more like the Swaggerville D we had when Burke was calling the D. If I didn't know better, I would say that Burke was calling the defensive game yesterday instead of Creehan.

Its possible they didn't think they would be able to protect him and lose him in the expansion draft next year. Making the trade gives them an experienced backup and presence in the locker room for an asset they could have lost.

Not sure how many NFL fans we have around here, but I've set the pool up for this season. Ravens at Broncos open up the season tomorrow (Thursday) at 7:30. Get your picks for the week in before then!

A number of people missed getting entries in last week, so that had an interesting effect on the standings. MOBomberFan not has sole possession of first place with 9 wins. Jpan85, myself, and Tony Fresco in second place with 8 wins. Robynjt, TrueBlue, voodoochylde are tied for 3rd with 7 wins. This week opens on Friday at 8PM with the Stampeders battling the Eskimoes. This is the deadline to get your picks in for this week. http://www.morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=games&pid=1&wid=4

I can't see the league allowing that. All interviews will now be handled internally. We will control the message.

Well, that is a depressing stat.

It was a tough week with a few upsets last week. 100% of participants picked the losing BC Lions over Montreal. Iso_55 led the way with 3 wins, everyone else had 2 or less wins for the week. Overall leaderboard has iso_55, MOBomberFan, and robynjt tied for the lead with 6 wins, with a 5 way tie for second between bluto, Jpan85, TonyFresco, TrueBlue, and voodoochylde. Leaderboard can be found here: http://www.morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=leaderboard&pid=1 Labour day weekend usually provides a few surprises. Get your picks in for the week before Friday at 7PM, with the week opening up with the Ticats at BC.

I downloaded the program, but don't think I ever went back in after that iniital time.

I'm not going to disagree with your overall sentiments, but is this because they didn't have faith in the kicker or because they (in Lapos case moreso, it's pretty clear Burke didn't like Palardy) had so much faith in the defense that they preferred to try and pin teams deep?Faith or not in the defence. With the exception of some rare circumstances, if you think you can get 3 points with a fg you take it.Especially when your punter has a knack for getting the single when trying to pin them deep.

Reinbold isn't even available. He is the special teams coach in Hamilton.

I'm part of a group of people who share season tickets to the Jets. We did our game draft yesterday during the Bomber game. 3 of us in the group have season tickets to the Bombers as well. We were trying to decide over the last little while what to do about the November 2nd Chicago Blackhawks game which is in direct conflict with a Bomber game. Wondering if we should risk picking it, thinking they will probably move one of the games to allow people to go to both. Stanley Cup champions ... Jonathan Toewes coming home.... By the time we did our draft during half time, didn't care anymore and I grabbed the game. If they move one of them, great, I get to sit outside in November to watch the Bombers lose. If they don't, then I don't have to sit outside in November to watch the Bombers lose in what will probably be a meaningless game This team is bad, and once the weather starts to turn cold, the people who actually show up to the games will be less then the season ticket base. A sad statement for the inaugural season of the new stadium.

I've had some comments about the news articles in the News Feed site dominating certain areas of the board. Specifically, the "View New Content" and the "Recent Topics" section on the right side of the forums page. The preference being that actual board content show up there over news articles. On a daily basis, we do get more news articles then new threads being created. I've disabled that forum from showing up in those areas for now, the problem being is everyone tends to use the board a little differently and what someone likes, someone else doesn't. So I'm curious if people have thoughts or preferences on this. How do you use the board and find new posts or content? What do you want to see in there?

Winnipeg @ Hamilton - August 24 Gif Day Thread
Rich replied to RagingIce's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
That gif is awesome. Had to watch at least a dozen times to appreciate everything going on in there -
thats true.. he said.crowtons offense had extra stuff for the players to attempt to follow and not simply one set play.. crowton out-thunk himself out of a job it sounds like... but i am curious, were they that confounding or are our offensive players that dense? Doesn't necessarily mean either. One of the issues when you have that many options is that the QB and receiver have to be on the same page. They have to be able to see the same thing and make the same decision about which option will be / should be run. An even tougher proposition with the carousel of QBs and inexperienced ones we had playing.

Another game, another upset. With 73.3% picking Toronto tonight, Calgary took advantage of an injured Ricky Ray and came up with the 'W'. With 60% picking the Tiger-Cats tomorrow, does this bode well for the Bombers?

This is the first part of Higgins bio on the CFL website: I forgot he was the coach in Calgary that cleaned up the mess that was Calgary in the early 2000's. 2 - 3 years of Higgins at the helm might be exactly what we need to get some stability and get this team back on track.
