This is the first part of Higgins bio on the CFL website: I forgot he was the coach in Calgary that cleaned up the mess that was Calgary in the early 2000's. 2 - 3 years of Higgins at the helm might be exactly what we need to get some stability and get this team back on track.

Montreal was blitzing all game and they had no answer for it
-
Interesting start to the week. Montreal winning over BC with a last second hope and a prayer pass & catch to get them in range for a field goal for the win. 100% of the entries this week chose ... BC.

Wow. Kick return for a TD Montreal. This is a crazy game.

Lets face it, our offense under Crowton has been offensive. Can you imagine the outrage in this place if we gave up a first rounder to get Reilly, then he would have likely of struggled the same as all the other QBs did. We probably would have still had the QB carousel we did this year, AND we'd be down a first round pick. Before we go wishing we had made that trade, lets see what the QBs we do have can do now that we have Bellefeuille

I emailed the HOF and asked them Here was my question to them: This was their response:

After our first week of play, we have two players - MOBomberFan and robynjt who were a perfect 4 for 4 last week. Good job! A logjam of 8 players with 3 picks correct, and the remaining 7 with 2. First game this week is Thursday at 6:30PM. Get your picks in for the week before then, as that is when the voting closes for the week. http://www.morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=games&pid=1&wid=2 Calgary / Toronto looks to be the toughest matchup to decide this week, though will Winnipeg show a spark of life with a new OC calling the plays? If you missed picking last week, it isn't too late to get into the game.

And the CFL website says it was the Winnipeg Winnipegs who were nicknamed the 'Pegs. http://cfl.ca/greycupcentral/year/1935 And the Bombers website say 10. http://www.bluebombers.com/page/grey_cups The Winnipeg Football Club was founded in 1930. Changing the name of the team from the Winnipegs to the Blue Bombers doesn't change the fact that the Winnipeg Football Club has won 10 Grey Cups. Well, tell that to the CFL HOF. Because according to them, the "Blue Bombers" have won 9 Grey Cups. The Bombers officially celebrated their 75th anniversary in 2005. This means the club considers itself to have formed in 1930. So the 1935 Grey Cup would belong to them. I would say that the CFL HOF is wrong. It is no different then a sports franchise moving cities and / or changing names and carrying the history and records with them.

You can. Touch in the post and it should open up a menu where you can choose quote

Would you sign somewhere where there is no clear cut starter and you have the chance to be that guy rather then a backup under an established QB?

Chris Matthews out 4-6 weeks, Pierce or Hall to start Saturday
Rich replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
This would be true if Buck was obviously better then the other guys, but he hasn't been. If Buck plays, it will be interesting to see what he can do with Marcel calling the plays, but I'm not holding my breath that it will be much better or that he can stay healthy. If Buck doesn't give us a substantial increase in QB play over the other two guys, which Mikes advanced stat thread shows, then we are delaying the advancement of Hall or Goltz by one more year for no good reason. -
Community Ownership or the lack of same and how to go forward

I can't find the exact rules, but it does look like shareholders get a say in the board. http://www.riderville.com/article/roughriders-hold-annual-general-meeting-20130622015438 -
http://www.cfl.ca/page/game_rule_ratio But really, if you have no one else, why wouldn't you dress Buck to have him on the sidelines, even if he is hurt, just to have his input.

Fan, short for fanatic. fa·nat·ic - A person filled with excessive and single-minded zeal, esp. for an extreme religious or political cause. Most teams fans over pump what they have and under value what they don't. It is what makes us passionate about the team. Just have to try and keep it in mind during the highs and lows.

Creehan has to go... replace him with who?
Rich replied to Brandon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
We could just call him Beautiful Sheet. I always thought feuille was leaf. Weird the google translate says it is sheet. -
With limited practice time, he has to work with the existing playbook. He will keep what he likes, and slowly introduce his own wrinkles week by week as time and practice permits. Play calling can also play a big part in turning the offense around as well as perhaps making some half time adjustments. As long as we see improvement in the offense week by week, then he is doing his job. What he will likely be stuck with is Crowton's terminology.
-
Not a surprise, and I'm not sad to see him go. But at the same time, we can't go a week without firing anyone!

I know I've put off buying a new jersey, where I probably used to get one every couple of years (when you consider the 50's and 70's retros in the last little while). Through in the fact that I have Jets jerseys that compete with my jersey buys, and they do have to be suffering merchandise wise.

We actually just recently had our first suspension. But for the most part, posters here have been great, and a very civilized discussion.

Odds that Cory Watson is left unprotected during expansion draft?
Rich replied to Milt's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I'm not saying Etienne is a shoe-in to be the next great Canadian super star, but going into this week the Bomber's best receiver was ranked 21st in the league. In an 8 team league, that is unforgivable. Have to fix the offensive schemes and QB before we can really start evaluating the receivers. -

Does that mean the end of the Kito Poblah experiment? -
Thats a better argument

I wouldn't change the game to appease those people. They will hate the CFL no matter what. Even if you played with full NFL rules, they wouldn't watch it because it isn't the "best" players. If you want to make an argument to change a rule to make the game better for the people who watch it, then that should be discussed.
