  1. Anything is possible.
  2. What? You should know Jets fans better than that. If we close this thread now, it will just have to be re-opened in October after he plays his fist game
  3. No different then Pronger the last two years and he got a job with the league while still getting paid for the last 3 years of his contract. Don't think the NHL has a problem with this sort of thing, and I don't think you can really punish the team for a player that has a valid condition that stops them from playing.
  4. Why? Are you saying you don't believe his has the condition that he has?
  5. Pavelec was carrying a cap hit of $3.9M. Hellebuyck is likely to sign a relatively cheap deal as he has just come off his ELC and hasn't earned a big bump in salary. If Mason signs for 2 years @ $4M, cap wise it is pretty much a lateral move from what we had invested in goal tending last season.
  6. Who knew there was a limit .... who knew someone would hit 100 in a day. Limit is gone.
  7. Start planning for Laine in 2 years. I don't think he will get that kind of McDavid money, but if the Jets want to sign him up for 8, it isn't going to be cheap.
  8. With a tie and some upsets this week (as compared to the majority pick), many didn't have a very good Week 1. Congrats to Sard for getting 3 picks. Picks need to be in this week by Thursday @ 8PM.
  9. Before we go another dozen pages on rehashing the same argument.... Group 1 Group 2 No one is going to change the others mind. It is fine for each group to either like what the Jets did in expansion or not like it. What's done is done ... can we move on now?
  10. I heard Chevy's comments, and while I think they had a number of players that they would have looked at around 13 and they had Vesalainen rated higher than they took him, I don't really believe he was "the guy" they wanted at 13 prior to trading the pick. I have no issues with them moving down, but I think we would have gotten a much different player at 13, my guess is a D-Man. It is turning out that defensemen are THE commodity to have in the NHL. Can't have enough of them for your team and if you have too many of them, you can get great trade value to supplement your forwards if you need to. However the value of Vesalainen was much higher then the defensemen left at 24.
  11. Jets pick Dylan Samberg. Big LHD. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=201527
  12. Only one person ever picked a tie last season (incorrectly) and they are so rare, wasn't going to bother this year with ties. If there is a tie, no one gets a point. No. No strikes in the Pick 'Ems, so that wouldn't work.
  13. Yikes. He is going to be 39 at the end of this deal.
  14. Interesting read about the CFL in Canada. Even more interesting is that SportsNet published it. http://www.sportsnet.ca/football/cfl/cfl-integral-canadas-sporting-identity/
  15. 10 game home stand right after the all star break and pretty much the whole month of February.
  16. Apparently it is Ryan Strome
  17. Locking this thread to move the discussion here
  18. I don't think Toby waives without the Jets telling him that they would make a deal for him not to be picked. This deal is really to keep Lowry / Perreault / Armia. I suspect they would have been fine with losing Dano, but with moving down 11 spots, they got Vegas to take no players from them. Chevy might have underestimated Vegas' interest in Enstrom.
  19. Thorbs is a UFA. He was going somewhere else if anyone would sign him next year anyway. No guarantee Vegas even signs him.
  20. That sucks. We lose Thorbs! What? Can't wait to see what the larger trade is.
