  1. I knew that, it was reported .... Might have been H&L. Could be ready for next season if all goes well. 4 months is August. 6 month is October.
  2. Driving over to the guys house isn't necessary. A two minute phone call that basically says "We appreciate everything you've done for the Argos but we are now going in a new direction." is a much more professional way to run an organisation then sending this over a text. Then again, maybe I'm just old fashioned.
  3. This is a great idea. Need to turn the younger generation into Bomber fans to convert them into life long fans.
  4. Yes. 925 is the max. I believe the minimum is 650 next year
  5. Vegas also can't buyout contracts for a full year for the players claimed on expansion. So if you take 6 goalies and can't trade them, you are stuck with them. Or send them down and hope someone claims them.
  6. ELC contracts are 925k. No choice. Max signing bonus is 10%. The rest has to be in performance bonuses.
  7. Smart move by the NHL / NHLPA (assume they would have got PA approval) Look at the discussion the expansion draft has generated so far. When those lists come out, it is going to give the NHL a whole bunch of media attention and fan discussion in their off season. I know the NHL doesn't officially support / supply the salaries, but look at the discussion and media attention the cap and salary websites have generated for the NHL. Expansion draft is similar, players probably won't be thrilled about it, but it is great for marketing and drumming up interest.
  8. For the longest time all professional sports leagues stayed away from Vegas because they didn't want the appearance of their product associated with gambling. Now that the internet has proliferated gambling so that anyone can bet on sports from the comfort of their La-Z-Boy, it doesn't have the stigma it once had.
  9. Don't like these NCAA contract rules. In regards to the signing bonus, not much of a difference getting it now or waiting 2 months and getting it in June from a team of his choosing.
  10. Interesting. I thought ELC's were always 3 years. Apparently if you are 22 - 23 you can sign an ELC for 2 years. And if you are 24 you can sign an ELC for 1 year.
  11. Poolman was hurt for their last game Is there a rule against signing a hurt player?
  12. The coach of the penalised team gets to decide who will sit in the box, but it has to be a player who was on the ice when the penalty happened.
  13. What I've noticed around my section is that when people do go on cheering for too long, there are enough people "shushing" them, that it doesn't last all that long.
  14. Anthony Calvillo Geroy Simon Kelvin Anderson Mike O'Shea Quite an impressive list going in this year.
  15. Not at all about the sound level .... but ... I really like the idea of the drum line but they play the same beat between plays every single time. Some variety would be nice.
  16. Yes. 14 forwards 9 Defensemen and 3 goalies. Assuming the other 4 players can be any position.
  17. http://www.arcticicehockey.com/2016/9/7/12815208/winnipeg-jets-2016-top-25-under-25-25-luke-green Looks like he has a lot of offensive potential, but you have to wonder why he fell so far. Be interesting to see what he can do.
  18. They did this for Copp. In the grand scheme of things, with the goofy rules for the NCAA players, you can use this as a carrot to get them to sign with your team rather than having them go to the market, it is a small price to pay. Get some cash in the players pocket with a signing bonus, let them pull in a salary for a few months
  19. Did the IOC agree to pay the insurance?
  20. This seems to be getting a positive response. I would credit the commish for introducing it and making it happen.
  21. Morrissey playing the right side with all the lefty callups
