  1. A preview of things to come?
  2. http://3downnation.com/2016/10/04/madani-boatmens-ship-sinking-field-off/ Has the CFL priced itself out of selling out Grey Cups? Winnipeg also had trouble selling out last year with a significant reduction in overall seats compared to other Grey Cups. Or is this Toronto being Toronto?
  3. I'm actually very curious to see if there is any impact on future players who are represented by Overhardt. Have to think the Jets will think twice before drafting a player represented by him again, Unless the player projects to be head and shoulders above anyone else on the board, go to your next pick. Not worth the trouble.
  4. He is already taking very poor advice by missing training camp and the beginning of the season. It is interesting that if you look at most of Overhardt's players who have held out, all of them got traded shortly after they signed. Of course, most of the holdouts were about money, not "position" or location. Kyle Turis, Brandon Dubinsky, Ryan Johansen. All held out. All traded within a year of signing.

  6. Picks need to be in by Friday @ 6PM
  7. It isn't a configurable option. If I had to guess, it is probably due to the fact that mods can edit anyone's post, and the software won't display that it was edited. If it makes you feel better other moderators can see when anyone edits any post, so I guess you will just have to trust us to "police" each other. Or simply ignore all of our posts if you really think they lack credibility due to the potential of being edited. It is interesting that moderators have always had this ability (and they do on pretty much any message board you will visit), but it apparently only now kills their credibility now that everyone has the ability to edit? Interesting perspective. I've made a change to the settings as a trial. Edited posts will now show a history of what was edited for 30 days. Moderator edits will still be hidden.
  8. Strong defence through your top 6 is more then a Jets problem. It is a league wide problem and why top 4 defencemen fetch such a premium. This problem is only going to be exasperated with the Las Vegas expansion. Of course having a D-Man who was a top 10 draft pick decide he doesn't want to play with you after his ELC doesn't help.
  9. Saw this on the Twitter feed. Sounds like a wild night.
  10. Yeah, my interest in the World Cup died when North America was eliminated. Haven't watched a game since. The tournament really should have ended before training camp starts. Been more interested in the Jets preseason. Also been worried that Maurice will have missed a good part of TC. You want your coach to set the tone for the season, especially with all the younger players we have.
  11. Forecast for kickoff tonight is 17 degrees with a SE 17 km/h wind. It should cool down to 13 degrees by the time the game is over. Cloudy with little chance of rain. Should be a beautiful fall night for football. Edmonton is 4 points back of the Bombers with the season series between the two teams tied. Win this game and you get the tie breaker, go up by 6 points and more or less guarantee a playoff spot. Lose this game and Edmonton is only 2 points back and holds the tie breaker. Bombers have BC and Ottawa back to back to end the season. Edmonton has Montreal, BC, Hamilton, and Toronto. An important game for the Bombers to bounce back from the loss last week and cement their playoff hopes.
  12. Ed Tait pointing out that he was a FA in February. Club had no plans to extend him?
  13. Outlaw didn't last long.
  14. This part bugs me. If there is no precedent, then you should take this opportunity to set it to be how you want it. Now you've made a horrible precedent. If I try to read between the lines ... Orridge is being bullied on this. He probably wanted to suspend Austin for the week ... practice and game, which would have been the right thing to do. Hamilton complained loudly, so he backed down and they agreed on this compromise. Now he wants something in writing so the next time the team can't bully him and he can point to the rules. Toothless commish. Orridge has been a mistake.

  16. So he has to be up in the box, but can be on the headsets?
  17. I'd pass. Gardiner is signed for 2 years then a UFA, and really wouldn't be equitable replacement for Trouba in the short term or long term. Soshnikov was undrafted, already 22 years old, and has a grand total of 11 NHL games under his belt.
  18. He completely disappeared after the election. Went into City Hall and hid, has barely made a peep.
  19. Also read on HFBoards that the Jets let Jacob's brother go after the season. Who was really only given a job to watch over his brother. Writing was on the wall for this by both sides at the end of last season.
  20. Twitter has been pretty entertaining tonight.
  21. I don't think the debate would have had any effect on Trump supporters, Hillary supporters or undecided. Whatever position you were before, I think that debate would only emphasize your position. Didn't see anything to change people's allegiance or gain the undecided vote.
