  1. He did last May. This is his next card to play.
  2. Reports that they have three suspects in custody. http://globalnews.ca/news/2962027/one-man-dead-after-calgary-nightclub-shooting/?sf36912310=1
  3. Trouba will sit. Don't see this getting resolved anytime soon. How the Jets do coming out of the gate may determine who blinks first. Then again the Jets play in front of a sold out building every night. And right now, the fan base is on the side of management. They will also want to send a message to future potential holdouts.
  4. Illegal Curve has an article up with audio and video of reactions from Jets players. Perreault seems to be the most vocal. http://illegalcurve.com/2016/09/25/winnipeg-jets-players-react-to-jacob-trouba-trade-request/ And Little
  5. Picks for this week need to be in by Friday @ 7:30 PM.
  6. What? Why Rod. Why?
  7. It is interesting they have Pavelec and Hellebuyck in the same group. Would have thought they'd have Pavs, Hutch, and Helle each in a separate group.
  8. At least the September 30th game is a pre-season game. Not a big loss.
  9. I've been taking a closer look at the Jets 2016 schedule today because we are having our ticket draft for our seats tonight. The Jets really got a horrible schedule this year. Home game against the Kings, Sunday November 13th @ 2PM. Same time / day as the CFL Semi Final playoff game. (Playoff games are at 12 and 3:30 that day, so if the Bombers are in a semi final game, there is a conflict) Jets home game against Nashville on Sunday November 27th @ 5PM. That happens to be the same date the Grey Cup is played. Start time 5:30 PM. The semi-final game I can mostly overlook, but why would the NHL schedule any home game for the Canadian teams at the same time as the Grey Cup? There is a lot of tradition amongst Canadians in terms of Grey Cup parties and the like. Also 2 of the other people we share our Jets seats with are the same people I have my Bomber tickets with. The Jets don’t have any weekend night games until February. These are usually the games I go after first as the atmosphere in the arena is usually the best.... Fair number of weekend afternoon games (team has historically been very flat for those games) and lots of weeknight games. I completely blame Sportsnet for this... #FirstWorldProblems
  10. I'm curious, if we don't win a playoff game, you still let O'Shea walk? Or is it a combination of some of those things? If you would have asked me at the beginning of the season what would it have taken to get an extension, my answer would have been making the playoffs.
  11. Fair enough. At this point I would expect us to go .500 the rest of the way. Lose against Calgary. Beat Edmonton. Split with BC and Ottawa. That would give us a record of 11 - 7. 12 - 6 would be fantastic, 10 - 8 would be "acceptable:. Anything less would be disappointing at this point.
  12. For those not wanting to extend O'Shea, what would have to happen between now and the end of the season for you to NOT want to extend him?
  13. Traded for a neg list player.
  14. Yep. Thats been my biggest complaint, lack of finish and settling for field goals. There were 3 TD drives in the 2nd half that started at Toronto 51, Winnipeg 48 and Winnipeg 31. Nice to see the O finally convert field position into TDs, then drive the length of the field to cap it all off and put the game well out of reach. That, and well I haven't gone back to confirm, it seems to me this was the first game in the winning streak where we really had to come back from behind. Being down 10 points in the 3rd quarter and coming back with 27 unanswered points. Those are the hallmarks you look for.
  15. Yep, I've been thinking for weeks that this offence is going to come back and bite us. Started becoming a believer in the 2nd half of last of game. Of course that means that next game will be the one. That and the fact we play Calgary.
  16. Picks this week need to be in by Friday @ 6PM.
  17. It is the game plan and the formula they've been using to win. Play low risk (and mistake free) on offence and relying on the defence to win the turnover battle. Would be nice to see a higher octane offence, but I thought the O did a much better job in the 2nd half against Toronto.
  18. Seen this video making the rounds after Matthew Tkachuk and Brendan Lemieux were mixing it up a bit in yesterday's game, here are there dads going at it in 1996 at the World Cup.
  19. It's Game Day! Toronto rolls into town with Drew Willy in tow as Winnipeg tries to extend their 6 game winning streak. 1 PM start. Forecast is sunny with temperatures around 18 - 20 degrees Celsius with a Southerly 10 km/h wind. A beautiful fall day for football.
