  3. This thread has gone off on one of the weirdest tangents ever.
  4. I'll make the change when I update the spreadsheet. If anyone else wants to change, post here or shoot me a PM
  5. Being frugal affords one the ability to be more generous.
  6. I hope they do eventually put some of the older players like Indian Jack up but at the same time, I think it is nice they honour some of these players while they are still with us to have them enjoy the recognition.
  7. No, the Canadian channels wouldn't pay for the rights, but we'd still see the game on the American channels. You are basically taking revenue away from the Canadian stations.
  8. Worse. And there has been quite a few years when a joke of a team made it over a team around and over .500. http://cflpass.ca/bc-lions/history-cfl-playoffs-crossover/ • 1981 West Division Edmonton 14-1-1 Winnipeg 11-5 BC 10-6 Saskatchewan 9-7 Calgary 6-10 East Division Hamilton 11-4-1 Ottawa 5-11 Montreal 3-13 Toronto 2-14
  9. I stole this from a hockey card....
  10. If you get the actual URL of a pic (for example, it ends in .jpg or .png or whatever) and just paste that in, the forum will auto-convert it to show the picture. Don't need to go through the Insert buttons.
  11. Have to upload to a free site and link to it. Try https://postimage.org
  12. I believe the CJOB contract goes to the end of 2018. Bob will be 68 going on 69 for the following season. Would for sure like to see him continue as long as he can, but he will be pushing 70. Can see him hanging up the mic.
  13. Huberdeau signs for 6 years $35.4M. $5.9M cap hit.
  14. This is the result of the league fawning over them for the last decade. They believe the press and the hype of being “Canada’s Team” and there is now a sense of entitlement in their fan base. Sucks to find out you really aren’t special I guess. In a league without revenue sharing, to suggest that they are the economic drivers of the league is ridiculous. Yes, they have high attendance and their fans spend an insane amount of money on merchandise, but most of that only benefits the Riders. It doesn’t benefit Toronto, BC, or Hamilton, or any of the teams that struggle financially. So if they want to stop spending their money in protest, fine, but they will mostly be hurting the Riders. Maybe they should wonder why now, after years of being “Canadas Team”, there is suddenly a conspiracy against them. Maybe they should look in the mirror and realize that they hired a mercenary who has a history of low morals and they are now reaping what they sow. If you want to be considered the model franchise of the league, then act like it, in everything you do.
  15. You left out the most important stat: 1 - 4 and 5 - 0. I've been as critical of the offence as any but lets not pretend the majority of Willy's numbers didn't come in garbage time when the game was well out of hand and defences were playing prevent, giving the short stuff to kill the clock. Yes, Nichols has benefitted from a better O-Line and a D that is playing lights out and a turnover machine. But Willy was not playing well and looked lost back there. That is not going to change until he gets a chance to play and prove different. And I'm fine if he doesn't play again this season, because it means we are continuing what we've been doing the last 5 games.
  16. Picks this week need to be in by Friday @ 9PM
  17. No, moderators get filtered as well. Although this might be a setting I changed at some point. Testing: **** ****
  18. That is really embarrassing that the official voice of a professional sports team has a blog like that. I could understand an anonymous fan setting up and writing something like that, but not someone in his position.
  19. In part, yes, there is no age minimum to post or be a member here. The site has a swear filter where it looks for specific words and replaced them with asterisks. When words slip through it is because that variation is not in the list. Swearing will also tend to escalate the "heat" level of discussions when an argument starts to spiral out of control. It is also a pre-emptive measure to that.
  20. They are now saying that the diffibulator was only precautionary.
  21. Just announced on TSN. Defibbulator rushed into the dressing room
  22. The offence is really going to need to pick things up for the remainder of the season. 7 for 8 on Field Goal. If we can score TDs on even 3 of those, this game isn't close. We won the turnover battle 4 - 0 again. Two missed Field Goals and a missed PAT by Crapigna and we only win by 3. Game shouldn't of even been close. At the end of the day, we won in SK on Labour Day. Don't get to say that very often!
  23. Sounds like he will be rotating in during the game.
  24. I think the difference was that Ottawa went into the season knowing they would be paying both Harris and Burris so they would structure the rest of their contracts around that. The assumption in Winnipeg was that if Nichols was playing a significant amount of games to get his bonuses, it would probably be because Willy was hurt and his salary would be on the IR, therefore the additional salary wouldn't matter since Willy's salary would be off the cap.
  25. This article here from TSN lists all of the QB salaries http://www.tsn.ca/eskimos-sign-qb-reilly-to-contract-extension-1.471943 and it has Willy making 410k base with no bonuses. They cite their source as Loonie Cap http://www.looniecap.com/ First time I've visited / heard of Loonie Cap. It is a weird site, it looks like they simply publish Excel spreadsheets. Under the Source column for Willy's contract, it says Y (as opposed to blank), but they don't disclose who or what the source is. I find it hard to believe Willy's 400k salary would be all base with no performance bonus.
