The funny thing is you could go to a lot of the members of the perceived clique and I’m willing to bet they could tell you stories of how they’ve been unfairly moderated at times and didn’t at all agree with our decisions. Moderating people is a crap and thankless job that no matter what you do (or don’t do) someone is going to be very unhappy and critical of how you do it. So you basically do what you believe is the best and most fair to the site and learn when it doesn’t work out. As a general rule, I will try to moderate the least amount possible. I don’t like editing / deleting posts and people don’t like it when I edit / delete their posts. I will usually give things a couple of posts to see how they are going to turn out and step in when I think things are going off the rails. The perception of this at times can be unfair or inconsistent moderating. But I will take that accusation over a site that is governed with an iron fist. I don’t think anyone here wants to see that. As to how moderators are chosen. We haven’t had a lot of turnover in the ranks and new ones are rarely added because of that. Most of the current team is the same team that came over from OB with the exception of JPan. JPan was added because of the commitment and time he was putting in to running the Lock of the Week contest. It only made sense, and he has been a great addition. I’ve always been very open to feedback and if there is any way this site is running that you think can be made better or questions on how decisions are made, my PM is always open. And feedback from posters in the past has changed the way we do and view certain things. And I’ve said this before … this is a community that moderators and admins can only guide. If you see a post that you think is inappropriate, report it. It will draw our attention to it faster and there have been times where I’ve read a post and thought nothing of it, but upon second read because of someone reporting it, did take action on it. If you want to complain about how the site is run but don’t do anything yourself to make it better, or suggest how things should be done differently, then you are really just as much to blame.

Heard on the drive in this morning that Matt is leaving the show in a couple of weeks. Announced that he is going to become a rabbi. Any predictions on if they bring in an experienced radio guy to replace him (I wouldn't mind seeing Jay come back) or if they continue on the cheap and promote Brandon Rewucki as the full time host and bring in a student / intern / new guy to handle the boards?

I think it was last week that Walters was on H&L and Lawless asked him about the QB salaries. Walters said it isn't something O'Shea would worry about in choosing his players. It is something that he monitors and would report to Wade on if it became an issue. Sounded like it isn't an issue yet but could be down the road.

Stock Market Report: Bombers vs. Argonauts

I think what he is saying is Denmark is a sell because he is out performing what his true top end is. Not that Denmark is going to be bad in the future, just don't expect him to get 200 receiving yards every game. You "sell" now because his value is as high as it is going to get. (And in this case, I don't think sell means trade or anything like that) It is a bit of an odd read in the way that he does that portion. -
If you click on the "Games" link at the bottom of the results spreadsheet that I post, you can see everyone's picks. I usually leave only the last week up before hiding it when I enter the next week's picks. I do this also so people can make sure I've entered their picks correctly. In this case, it was mbrg who had the foresight to pick Montreal.

I grew up with those bands too. Nevermind was released 1991, same year as Road Apples from The Hip. Blind Melon's first CD was 1992. All those were around the time I graduated High School.

Gord struggled with his vocals for sure. But that could have been anything from age to his treatment to over straining from the tour. In fact his voice, while unique, has never been his strong point. It has been his lyrics, his story telling, and his unique stage presence. I grew up with The Hip in their prime through my teens and twenties. And for that whole generation, the night was a reminder and celebration of how many amazing songs and hits they put out over the years and how we grew up and experienced those songs through the memories of the past.

Pick need to be in by Thursday @ 6:30 PM

That would be this week then. Guarantee is after a players 9th game for 6+ year vets. Can't see them releasing Hank this season despite the distractions. We've seen in the last number of years that teams need 2 QBs to be successful.

Wow. That can't be the intent of challenges and reviews.

I totally agree with this. The minute we moved up in the draft and were able to draft Laine, Connor's chances of starting with the Jets went way down.

Yes. I started counting the 1st regular season game as game 1, so you can use the game # to determine how many we've played. (Officially, the CFL counts the 1st regular season game as game 10 because of preseason games)

I wonder how they decide how much he gets insured for without a contract? Interesting quirk in negotiations if he does get hurt.

BLM on H&L right now. He said is going to be fined for his tweets about SK. He should went through proper channels. -
While I'm sure there are a few posters who would disagree with you, thank you for the kind words. We aren't perfect but try our best to keep things fair and on an even keel.

Momma just killed a team I got rid of all my vets Got some fines and now in debt.

I should stay off Twitter. These rider fans have serious delusions of grandeur. Why would the Riders mean more to every person employed in the CFL? The CFLs cash cow is the TSN contract. The Riders don't share their profits with the league. The sense of entitlement from the fans of "Canada's team" is unreal. The lack of respect their organisation showed to the league is what is an embarrassment. You are not entitled to cheat because you are the Riders.
