  1. Khari was definitely booed in his last days here. His bum shoulder that our patchwork O-Line inflicted on him, ensured that there were many lame duck throws in that last year. Those always wake up the boo birds.
  2. There is also a big difference in the phrasing of the question. "Does" means you should answer in terms of what you believe Kyle Walters and Wade Miller will do. "Should" means you should answer in terms of what you think the team should do.
  3. You will have to include some "older guys" if it is since we last won the Grey Cup.
  4. A post that is essentially gloating is going to do nothing to change any "division" on the forum. Congratulations you were right Iso, the Bombers are a steaming pile of crap. Is that what this post is trying dig up from "certain posters"? The "division" is how people view the team and how people choose to be a fan and support the team. Why do some people not post any longer? Well because the Bombers suck and there is very little hope right now. For those people, they'd rather say nothing then come here and read about and post bashing the team. Not everyone wants to come in here and talk about how much the team sucks in every thread. When there is a new regime, they will (hopefully) support it and hope that this is the group to turn around the franchise. That is how they enjoy the team. Also, if everyone saw everything the same way, this place would get pretty boring. The point of a discussion board is for people of different points of view to discuss and debate. If you want to gloat for being right, then gloat, but all that does is make people not like you and makes the so called division worse. Don't wrap it up in this lets be friends and make amends BS. Especially when you stretch the truth to fit your agenda. I don't remember anyone saying Reilly was crappy and we didn't need him. It was more of Reilly isn't completely proven yet and there are other options out there, especially when we didn't get him, and weren't going to get him, so people move on. I also think you mis-interpret hope and optimism for calling O'Shea "can't miss". He was a rookie coach, no one thought he was can't miss. But there was hope he would be good coach. So people went with that because they are fans and love the Bombers and want to believe ( or at least wanted to) they will do well.
  5. Article and video can be seen here, though I couldn't make much out in the video. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/portage-main-gun-call-winnipeg-1.3685266
  6. Results can be seen below. Picks need to be in by Thursday @ 7:30PM this week.
  7. Really not a fan of all these separate streaming services. Netflix, Shomi, Crave TV, I'm not going to pay for all of them. Already have Netflix and a fan of a lot of their original content. so I'm not going to get Shomi and / or Crave. Also, Netflix is unaffiliated with a network, so they are more likely to get content from a wider range of sources.
  8. I wonder what the rules would be in this situation. If he had played in the OHL before, there would be no choice if he didn't make the Jets, he would have to go to the OHL and not the AHL. But since he has never agreed to play or suited up in Juniors, I wonder if he could be sent to the Moose.
  9. The comment was meant to be a little tongue-in-cheek after watching the Grey Cup Champion Eskimos beat us the other night with a number of former Bombers on their roster. But at the same time, and only Willy really know this, when I watch Willy play it looks to me like he is suffering from the football equivalent of PTSD. He has been so shell shocked in his time here, it looks like he gets frozen in the pocket waiting for it to collapse and it hurts his decision making. Not saying it is a guarantee, but a new team, a new situation without the starter pressure, watching from the side lines, may be what he needs to get his confidence back.
  10. Willy is going to be 30 years old this year. IF the Bombers bring in Burris, then the Willy experiment in Winnipeg will be over. Willy would be released in the off season and probably catch on as a backup with another team, where there is a good chance he would reclaim his former glory like many released Bomber players have.
  11. There are people in Chicago also claiming the Blackhawks should take down the statue of Hull. Why? Apparently he is a racist woman abuser. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2013/05/05/bernstein-blackhawks-now-must-fire-bobby-hull/
  12. Are there teams out there that would pass on Armia? Sure, but you only need one team that would have room for him and would want to take a flyer on a former 1st round draft pick, on a cheap contract and who is still young enough and growing into his game. Sending down Armia over Dano would be poor roster management. Unless Armia really craps the bed in camp, the difference between the two isn't great enough to risk losing an asset for nothing.
  13. I find it unlikely they will be sending Armia down anyway. He is no longer waiver exempt. He would very likely get picked up on waivers by somebody.
  14. Too much to ask to have Willy repeat this performance tonight?
  15. Game Day! Yes, Edmonton has beat us in each of our last 6 games with a combined score of 183 - 72, with an average margin of victory of 18.5 points. But I'm tired of watching this team lose at IGF. Time for a Bombers win!
  16. Anyone who wants to change their pick, send me a PM before the game starts to confirm you want to change.
  17. They don't care as much, so it isn't a "great" contract for a cap team, which was the discussion. All things equal, if two players have the same AAV, are equal in talent, then sure the cap team would prefer to pay less for that player. But the Chicago's of the world don't give a rats ass about the actual salary of the contract, they care about the AAV and which players they won't be able to sign or have to trade away to stay under the cap. Teams like Arizona, Carolina, or any team who isn't projecting to be close to the cap, won't care about the AAV, only what the $$$ will mean to the bottom line. It is pretty simple logic, actually. Case in point, Ducan Keith made $7.6M with a $5.5M cap hit in 2014-15. Myers made $5M with a $5.5M cap hit in 2014-15. They both have the same AAV. By your logic Myers is the contract teams would value because the salary is less than the AAV. Keith is the better value for Chicago because they are a cap team so AAV matters most to them. Keith gives them better value for that $5.5M cap hit in their Stanley Cup year (and his Conn Smythe win) than Myers would have. That Keith contract is a great contract for Chicago. Its higher salary than AAV allows the Hawks to fit and keep more of their stars and players under the cap, while giving Keith fair value in actual salary. It would't be as good a contract for the Jets.
  18. I don’t think I agree with this. If you are a team who can or has the budget to spend to the cap +, then one of the most important things to you is AAV and if that player is worth the AAV, because your constraint is the cap. Myers AAV is 5.5M, so a cap team would have to ask themselves does Myers give value chewing up $5.5M of the NHL cap. They don’t care so much what actual salary is because their constraint is the cap, not actual dollars. If you are a budget team, you don’t care so much what the AAV is because the actual dollars is your constraint. So if the Jets internal budget is $65M, they have $7M of cap space they will never use. So there is $7M in there that Myers AAV can eat into with no effect to them at all. Myers $3-4M salary is what matters most to them because that is what will go to their internal cap. And the Jets would have to ask themselves, is $3-4M good value for what Myers brings.
  19. You get arbitration rights after 4 years in the NHL (term reduced if you sign your first contract after 20) Trouble only has 3. Also, it is the player who requests arbitration, not the team. The team must give them a qualifying offer (based on current salary). When they do that, they are bound, at the minimum, to sign at that salary (unless both parties agree to less). If they don't qualify, they lose the rights to the player. Once qualified, a player may request arbitration (if eligible). This is usually done to push the negotiations along.
  20. The point of the discussion isn't to debate which is better, if you read the original post, it is looking for ideas to get someone who is a an NFL fan to give the CFL a shot.
  21. Nice but I didn't really want to see your selfie.
