#FearTheBeard But seriously though .. looking at his raw stats (and I'll readily admit I haven't dug too deeply into this) .. he doesn't seem to offer much more than we have now. Change for the sake of change?

Shhhh! No influencing potential designers!

My money is on the guy following the Bombers the last 40 years .. you know .. the one with a clue. ;-) I still expect Hall to struggle at times through the game .. it's just the nature of the beast .. but these guys HAVE to be allowed to play through it.

Except Ford is terrible as a returner and his roll on cover teams could easily be filled by one of the Canadian RBs. Let's be honest, if Simpson were to go down to injury, Ford wouldn't be the guy I want carrying the load.

Healthiest our defense has been in awhile. Hopefully we're in for a good night on that side of the ball. Especially if the vets show up to play like they did last week.

There were flat out drops that killed us in that game .. coming out of the shadow of our own goal posts .. also in the BC red zone .. receivers (Matthews) squeezes a couple of balls and the game could have been much different. The simple fact is Goltz is a young quarterback. He *IS* going to improve with playing time. Pierce, on the other hand, is not only starting to break down (physically) but mentally as well. He is holding onto the ball way too long. He's taking unnecessary sacks. He's inaccurate . injury prone and killing this team because he can't finish games.

At some point that organization needs to turn the page .. he has to accept that .. he doesn't have to like it .. but he does have to accept it.

No issues in either IE or FF for me as well.

Not a fan of this move to be honest. If he was healthy, I feel he brings more to the table than what Ford does.

From what I've been reading .. Bilukidi isn't going anywhere for awhile ..

The big thing for me (and it was reiterated a couple of times in the interview) is that Waters said that the coaches will dictate positions on the depth chart .. aside from QB .. wonder who else benefitted from management influence ...

What Happens If We Beat The Ti-Cats?
voodoochylde replied to Blitzy's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I also don't think it's much of a stretch in reasoning to assume that Walters would move into that interim role. He's familiar with the club .. the operations .. and has is feet wet on the management side of things .. it's the smoothest move and the one least likely to cause waves (at a time when there needs to be SOME stability). What I'd be concerned about is if he got the fulltime gig without so much as anyone in the organization batting an eye lash. Until then, Walters as interim GM makes sense. -
Our dissatisfaction with the current state of the team can be discussed in any number of threads. This thread, in and of itself, doesn't serve any meaningful purpose. I am closing it. If *ANYONE* has an issue with that, they can PM me. Go Blue.

Report Marcel Bellefeuille Being Brought In As A Consultant
voodoochylde replied to Jpan85's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Marcel Bellefeuille joins Blue Bombers’ Offensive Coaching Staff Head Coach Tim Burke has announced today the appointment of longtime CFL coach Marcel Bellefeuille to the team’s offensive coaching staff. “Marcel is a very experienced coach who has had lots of success on the offensive side of the ball as a position coach, a coordinator and a head coach,” said Burke. “He will add experience to our staff and will be another voice in our offensive meetings who we can lean on to provide us with new insights and ideas thanks to his wealth of knowledge at the CFL level.” Bellefeuille returns to the CFL where he spent three seasons as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ head coach from 2009-2011. After taking over the job on an interim basis midway through the 2008 season, he guided his team to the playoffs in each of his three full seasons at the helm, including an appearance in the East Final in 2011. Bellefeuille was originally hired by the Tiger-Cats to be their offensive coordinator in 2008 after successful stints in the same capacity with the Montreal Alouettes and Saskatchewan Roughriders. He began his CFL coaching career in 2001 with the Roughriders. Prior to joining the CFL, Bellefeuille won a Vanier Cup as head coach of the Ottawa Gee-Gee’s in 2000. He spent last season with the United Football League’s Omaha Nighthawks as the team’s receivers coach. -
Couldn't agree more. There is no sense in trading for a 'franchise quarterback' or a 'quaterback of the future' if you aren't going to be able to protect him and put that player in the best possible position to succeed. Offense starts and ends on the line. Without protection, a quarterback can't throw the ball. Without being able to open running lanes a running back is going nowhere and won't be able to take pressure off a young, developing quarterback. The key for future success (offensively) is to rebuild the offensive line.

This is a concern I have as well. Mack burned a lot of political capital and good will sticking to his plan .. stock piling draft picks and replenishing our non-import depth. One can argue that the top end talent isn't there (yet) but the overall depth of that talent has certainly been improved. We are now in the best position we have been for years when it comes to the draft and it allows us to draft for immediate needs (to push incumbents and guys who've been on the PR for a season or two) and for the future (taking the odd flier on a guy who may spend time down south). I'm hoping the new staff won't be short sighted and look for the quick fix.

Riders are going to make it interesting. Wonder how the bandwagon is holding up ..
