  1. Ask and you shall receive.
  2. I present to you "Topiary Rod Black". He's not as talkative and doesn't add much to the broadcast but .. I still consider this an upgrade.
  3. Watching the Calgary game at home with the family and, at one point, my daughter gets disgusted with the Bombers and takes off her jersey. She folds it. Sits it down on an end table in the living room, goes to cool off then comes back to watch the game. We go on to win. That jersey has sat .. untouched .. on a table in my living room the last two weeks. My daughter intends to leave it there until after we win the Grey Cup on Sunday.
  4. I cringe when I think about the coaching wilderness we could find ourselves in if O'Shea were to leave. We've enjoyed sustained success for the first time in a decade. We have players who sign (and re-sign) here because of our coach. (As fans) we now expect to finish at / in the top of our division year over year. This is, in large part, because of the man patrolling the sidelines. Is O'Shea perfect? No. He's still growing as a coach and some may quibble with perceived 'personal traits' (the stubbornness or loyalty he shows to players / staff as an example) but consider this .. he's done more / achieved more (with arguably less talent at the most important position in the CFL) than any other coach. 4 straight years with 10 or more wins. 44 regular season wins. 4 years in the playoffs .. progressing year over year (in the playoffs twice > winning the semi-final > winning the final and going to Grey Cup). I hope he re-signs. I hope we get a deal done sooner rather than later.
  5. Talk of "western separation" simply makes me angry. It's juvenile and is nothing more than a populist talking point with no foundation in reality. A little reading: https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/why-alberta-separatism-is-the-dumbest-political-movement-in-canada-today I'm usually more thoughtful when I choose to post in these threads but this nonsense just irritates the **** out of me. I'll gladly sit down with anyone and talk about my view, over a beer, where we can agree to disagree like intelligent .. thoughtful folk.
  6. Guys .. you should know by now I don’t step in often (I let you sort things out amongst yourselves for the most part) but I’ll ask that we *try* to keep discussion on the game / team and away from each other. I know it’s hard, I’m as frustrated as anyone, but your help here would be greatly appreciated.
  7. I’m going to ask you take a break from posting .. or I’ll look to give you a break. We get your point of view. You don’t need to repeat it ad naseum in every thread.
  8. I'll bite. Let's compare apples to apples shall we? Not what an 8 year vet has accomplished compared to a guy who has less than a full season of playing time under his belt. Through Nichols first 23 games with Edmonton (Streveler has been in 24): 270 / 443 (60.9% completion rate) for 3386 (12.5 yards per completion) with 19 TDs and 18 interceptions. He added 36 carries for 138 yards (3.8 yards per carry) and 3 touchdowns Streveler by comparison: 224 / 347 (64.5% completion rate) for 2564 yards (11.44 yards per completion) with 18 TDs and 17 interceptions. He added 182 carries for 1089 yards (5.7 yards per carry) and 22TDs See .. stats are fun! 😉
  9. Yes .. it’s weak. Who cares what goes on outside of your own (the team’s) control. Win the games you should, put yourself in the right position .. handle your own business .. and **** has a way of working out. As much as I hate to say it, we didn’t do that and the Riders did. And what stuff did I bring in? Genuinely curious.
  10. This kind of argument is weak. You can only play the hand you are dealt and whether we like it or not, the Riders played their hand well; they did what they had to do. The Bombers folded early and pissed away a first place finish. We’ve earned our spot at the table but could be in a much better position.
  11. Based on last game, I'd absolutely agree with that. The interior line struggled in a big way and I second the Lucky sentiment. The 'best' receiving corps we've trotted out all year (most successful in my mind) was: Wolitarsky, Bailey, Peterman, Lawler and Adams.
  12. And if McGuire went down .. the emergency QB would probably be someone like Darvin Adams.
  13. Why would he? He's basically had a cup of coffee since being acquired by Winnipeg.
  14. Only in the CFL can a 'game manager' win a Championship Respectfully, Trent Dilfer & Brad Johnson
  15. My friend .. THAT I can agree with.
  16. There are times when he gets a game plan suited to his strengths and he looks like a juggernaut. He’s a guy who can take over a game and make something happen. That’s been born out already. Can you say the same thing about Nichols? I’m not disagreeing that we likely would have a better record with Nichols .. but I’m also not confident he’ll take us further than we’ve been already.
  17. It doesn’t matter who lines up behind center if we insist on driving square pegs into round holes.
  18. The difference between a 9 year vet and a guy who has had a handful of pro starts.
  19. Winston Rose played a helluva game. His “miscues” likely come down to a player feeling like he needed to take the game in his hands. Good decision? That comes down to a matter of inches.
  20. Hey guys. Just preemptively jumping in to ask that we keep things above board .. I’m as pissed as anyone but let’s do our best to keep discussion on the team and away from anything personal. Would greatly appreciate that guys.
  21. Streveler is not playing well but this game plan .. garbage. If nothing else, I’m happy the defence Came to play tonight.
  22. So .. outside of Hamilton .. I'm cheering for a whole slate of eastern teams this weekend. Go Red-argo-uettes!
  23. With the way QBs are going down this season, would anyone part with a rostered quarterback?
