  1. For whatever reason I thought he'd reworked his contract earlier this year. Well dammit.
  2. I think the only one of our starters not under contract at this time is Bond.
  3. Continuity on the offensive line is such a huge thing .. this is good news.
  4. Just throwing this out there .. @Booch for DC
  5. I’m not one to play “what if” but if this team was healthy I think we win this game walking away.
  6. A tough, winning mentality has to be learned and I think we can credit O’Shea with the resilience this team demonstrated at times throughout the year. This team believed. THAT contribution can not / should not be down played.
  7. Wait Another 48 Hours. ?
  8. Guys, I’ll just remind everyone that there are times certain posters come out of the woodwork .. this just happens to be one of those times .. Its not worth your time / energy to get all worked up over individuals whose sole raison d’etre is to stir the pot when things aren’t going well. I have no issues with fans who are critical of the team / organization or with other team’s fans provided they contribute consistently and not simply “fade away” until the next time the club falters. Also .. ignore function. ?
  9. I reserve judgement on personnel because I don’t feel they were consistently being put in a position to succeed. That said ... For as much as I love Loffler and his physical style of play, he’s not a coverage safety and is a liability at times. He’s probably best suited closer to the line of scrimmage in run support. Sam ******* Hurl. I’ve railed against that guy for years now and this season hasn’t changed my mind. I expect MORE from that position. Alexander / Walker. Both guys are young and are only going to get better. Both played very well in stretches but both showed their inexperience at times. This season turned the moment Mo (and to a lesser extent Westerman) went down. That guy is the heart and soul of that defense and without him .. they just had nobody that players could rally around.
  10. On behalf of all the moderators, I wholly endorse a single, consolidated bitchfest thread. Make it so guys, please??
  11. Really looking forward to the game and hoping Winnipeg turns out to support the team. I remember that last playoff game at CanadInns, great crowd, cold as balls but just an awesome playoff vibe.
  12. Tait and Irving yes. However I agree with a number of people here in that Brown comes off as smug and hard to relate to. Maybe Brown SHOULD have a few cocktails before getting on air .. might loosen him up!
  13. We can only beat the team in front of us, this is true. That said, neither Stanzi nor Buckley showed they had any business being on the field. They wouldn't have been if that game meant anything to Calgary. It was a glorified exhibition game in the sense that it allowed Calgary to play backup QBs with the rest of the first team offense - there was no risk or downside in it to Calgary. Their spot in the post season, their positioning, was already secured. However, our defense made plays when they should have and exploited a good match up. If they hadn't dominated they way they did, I'd have been very worried and a lot more pessimistic heading into Sunday. Our offense by and large was dreadful. We won the game in spite of LeFevour not because of him .. but .. we still won. We are hosting a playoff game in the friendly confines of Investors Group Field. I'm not complaining about that.
  14. I suggest discussing the game and not each other .. may be best for all involved.
  15. It's amazing what capable quarterbacking can do to make a coordinator look like a genius; that said, a good coordinator has the ability to tailor game plans to the strengths of the players in his line up and put those guys in the best position to succeed. I can't say that Lapo or Khari do either of those things on a consistent basis. Saying that, I wouldn't want to lose Lapo in the offseason .. Nichols has thrived in this system and consistency is such a big thing offensively.
  16. Always really appreciate community members to contribute the way you do Mr. Dee. Thank you for putting this together week in, week out!
  17. I’m damned happy we won that game last night but will temper my enthusiasm somewhat knowing we faced two back up QBs who have limited reps and experience .. our offence struggled mightily as well. That said, we won, finished with our best record in years and the team / organization takes yet another step forward. Regardless as to what happens next week, this has been the most enjoyable season at IGF to date. #GoBlue #FortHew
  18. Yes he would. He really really would.
  19. I’ve always maintained that we have a great deal of talent on the defensive side of the ball .. they just aren’t being put in position to succeed. Comes down to coaching (Hall) and scheme / philosophy. You can turn the roster over on defence all you want but as long as Hall is here, nothing will change.
  20. I think they might have ratio issues ...
  21. To be fair, I think Naylor said the coach allowed the fight to proceed .. he didn’t set it up .. that said .. what a gong show.
  22. Not to detail the thread but every time I’ve been to Thermea, it’s been amazing. When I saw the notice, I was more than a little surprised.
  23. Dammit .. my bad .. will fix the thread title ASAP (decided lack of caffeine this morning).
  24. Moving this to Around the League.
  25. What the actual **** is going on in Regina.
