  1. I think that's all the CBA allows for (but I could be wrong).
  2. Read a couple of articles today that detailed some negative driving experiences last night and wanted to put this out there for others on the forum. For my part, the drive was uneventful. Left the stadium with 3:02 remaining in the fourth (I'm nursing a torn hamstring so I need a little extra time getting to / from my car). From the time I sat in my car post game (Gold Lot) to the time I pulled into my driveway (Royalwood) was all of 14 minutes .. the only "negative" for me was some uncontrolled pedestrian crossings (by the golf course) that slowed traffic a bit. What about everyone else? Curious to hear about your experiences in light of the bet Wade made.
  3. Positives for me from last night: The crowd was absolutely awesome through 30 minutes of play .. we were into the game .. the atmosphere at IGF was amazing. Winnipeg fans are passionate. The team needs to consistently deliver for them when playing at home. Normand has some under-rated hands. He's a FB who doesn't touch the ball often but he catches everything that comes to him even if he's going to get blown up. Couple of tidy grabs last night as well. The interior of the DL is fantastic this year. You don't move those guys easily and it's helped shore up our run defence in a significant way. The guy sitting two rows in front of me who completely lost his mind when O'Shea was forced to challenge that illegal contact (mugging) on Harris. You sir were bloody amazing.
  4. They missed picking up a lot of delayed pressure and Nichols bore the brunt of those breakdowns.
  5. With so many great breweries in Winnipeg, would it be too much to ask to partner with say .. Half Pints? Peg Beer Co? Torque? to get some descent beer on tap .. Make it happen Miller!
  6. It amazed me that's for sure.
  7. This. It's what's so disappointing for me .. we have a great turnout last night .. the largest since 2014 .. and we **** the bed .. in typical fashion.
  8. What was it that Newsome supposedly said (completely missed it)?
  9. More a case of talent succeeding in spite of the head coach perhaps.
  10. Rust left the team during the season .. sometime around August if I recall correctly.
  11. Especially when you construct your team in such a way as to allow for roster flexibility .. suddenly those "traditional" NI spots are up for grabs and you aren't forced to pay / play NIs when an Import might be a better option.
  12. I've always said I don't give a rats ass about the HC's personality, how he interacts with the media or how well liked he is by players .. if he wins consistently (and brings this team a championship) .. he could throat punch Bob Irving for all I care.
  13. I think the only coach on that list who's ever had a co-ordinator quit / leave the team mid season was Jim Daley .. it wasn't as disheartening to watch as the Burke lead Bombers but that team was a complete shambles. How people can put Berry in the "worst" category without mentioning this guy .. have to give my head a shake.
  14. Our defensive line was tremendous last night, especially those interior guys. The rotation of Johnson, Nevis, Thomas was pretty solid and will only get better as the season moves along. What we need is more disciplined play from the end position. For as much as I love Westerman, he can't keep taking these selfish roughing penalties. He's developing a reputation and that doesn't do him (or the team) any favours.
  15. God their NI depth is just gross .. makes one really appreciative of the job Walters has done to get us to this point. Some might argue the quality of our top end talent but nobody (with a straight face) can question the flexibility we have.
  16. So .. nobody wanted to play defence in this one?
  17. He (Marshall) was criminally under used as a receiver while he was here in Winnipeg and I think that's an area SSK can exploit. Until we consistently demonstrate that it's tough sledding against us on the ground, I won't have a lot of faith in our ability to stop the run. We have the talent to do it but are players being put in a position to be successful .. can they execute.
  18. Bob Irving‏ @BobIrvingCJOB 57s58 seconds ago More Andrew Harris comes up limping at Bomber practice--left leg giving him problems. Extent unknown. Let me be the first to say ...
  19. He also makes a "decent enough" depth guy .. he's not someone I'd want starting on my team (if at all possible) but to step in a pinch, able to play multiple spots on the line? He's valuable enough. For us, we are developing a solid pool of young players and Neufeld is a guy we can likely afford to part with.
  20. I'd agree and the funny thing is that it wasn't so long ago that many people wanted to blow the whole thing up or didn't believe in our "rookie" GM.
  21. Haha .. maybe I SHOULD be more optimistic ..
  22. Unfortunately, a lot of people aren't going to be happy with *anything* this team does until we win a Championship. It's the sad reality for an organization that hasn't won a Grey Cup in 27 years.
  23. For all the flags they threw last night how they didn't throw one when (Lankford?) got popped out of bounds on a return was beyond me. It was pretty damned obvious, official right there .. and the entire sideline reacted to it. As a general comment, I hate how much the CFL errs on the side of the offence when it comes to PI calls .. more than a few instances last night where the refs threw flags (against both teams) where I thought to myself, "Really?" Let defenders play for Christ sake.
