  1. @PaulWiecek Ticats release former #Bombers RB Nic Grigsby. #bn
  2. Merged with the existing discussion on this interview.
  3. Agreed. I mean they have it in curling with Hog line infractions. How someone hasn't figured out how to put the technology into other sports yet it strange. The only thing with something like a laser is you can break it with your foot and not the ball (See the reply ) I can see in hockey, them installing the same technology into the puck as they have in curling and once it crosses a certain line it lights up. Would take a lot of guess work off the refs. Not sure how they would do that with a football. But if there are any inventors out there that want my idea I want a 30% royalty The technology for curling is a bit different as it simply records if the players hand is still on the handle of the rock as it crosses the hog line. Where do you put the sensor in the football? The ball only needs to touch the goal line for it to be in, you would have to make the entire football able to become a sensor and that seems like a near impossible task. The solution to me is to accept that there will be human error in the officiating and just deal with it. Ditch all the reviews and just let the refs do their job and hold them to a standard FIFA has a few different "approved" goal line systems and I'm sure they'd be easily (relatively speak) adopted to football .. that said, you'd likely see it in the NFL long before it was adopted by the CFL .. interesting little overview of how that stuff works: http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/jun/16/world-cup-goalline-technology-football-brazil-2014
  4. If we were a little bigger up front, and better at keeping linemen off our linebackers, I'd not be against the idea of running a 3-4 .. but as it is, we had trouble controlling gaps when we went to a 5-2 in obvious running situations. We simply don't have the bodies ..
  5. Honestly.. this couldn't be shaping up better for the Bombers .. now of course this means they'll lose by 20 .. but the conditions are there!
  6. 6pm is tight for a lot of people but honestly, it's the blowout against Hamilton which hurt more. The team doesn't have a lot of good will built up amongst casual fans .. so if it's a choice between spending hard earned entertainment dollars on a patio on a hot summer night, heading off to the lake, watching from home .. OR watching a consistently inconsistent team maybe possibly pull out a win in person .. it's not much of a choice (for the casual fan).
  7. Anyone know why Rennie Curran still hasn't signed with anyone yet? Exploring "NFL Opportunities" ..
  8. They ran switches with Green all night somebody did not pick him up it was on Washingtons side all three times I believe. He was yelling at Adams after one big play. Three Bombers staying with one Al while Green got in behind them all. Both Washington and Adams were victims of biting on play action and leaving their area of the field open. Little bit of work but if they can clean it up we will be good shape.
  9. Though he and Washington need to work on how they communicate back there and be more disciplined in their coverage. I'm not ready to even use "all-star" and Adams in the same sentence but he's shown a lot of promise and it speaks volumes that a rookie can step into the lineup and have the success that he's had so far. 2 picks in 3 games including one of them for a TD and his only problem is that as a rookie the communication isn't quite up to par? Yeah I'll say he's got star potential. Communication will come in time. ,He's a player plain and simple. Not saying the guy isn't a player but last night was another example of those two not being on the same page at times and it turning into big plays for the opposition. It's great that Adams has been able to make a few plays .. but it's more important that they aren't looking at each other at the end of a play with a look that says, "I thought he was your guy". Be schematically sound. Be disciplined in your responsibilities. The highlight reel plays will come but it all starts with fixing the small things that will make the unit as a whole that much better.

  11. No an offense losing the game is when a qb tosses a couple dumb ints like Cato did. The offense was fine, the Montreal D is good. Now the Bombers D on the other hand, that damn near lost them the game if not for a pick 6 and the blocked kick TD. I didn't think that Bellefeuille called the best game last night and his game planning (from week to week) is inconsistent at best but I will say that the offense didn't do anything to lose us the game. They took what was given to them and didn't back down when things got physical .. guys responded when they got "punched in the mouth" so to speak.
  12. Willy looked fine last night. Hung in the pocket to make a couple of throws, extended a few plays with his legs .. though at times it looked like he didn't feel the back side pressure all that well. Also thought the Als defensive line did a helluva job getting their hands up in passing lanes when they couldn't get more direct pressure on Willy. At least three pass knock downs at the line of scrimmage last night. Steady but unspectacular game from Willy against a very solid defence .. especially after all the questions surrounding his health and readiness.
  13. Hurl had 2 tackles last night while the Als rookie MLB had 11 tackles. Beyond that, he's not a newbie in this scheme. He's very familiar with Richie Hall and the defence from his time in Saskatchewan. He SHOULD be looking better than he is. It feels like the team committed to Hurl starting at MLB very early in camp (with a lot of the new guys not having much opportunity to adapt and adjust to the Canadian game) and now, it's going to be hard to make a change as we need to start him (or Bucknor at DB) for ratio considerations.
  14. But Dunigan isn't a doctor so his opinion to some here is moo.. I have a beef with this posting- he's trying to cow us with a load of bull. I think the media is milking the situation for all it's worth.
  15. While he might provide a bit of a spark .. Veltung has acquitted himself nicely so far in the return game.
  16. Knowing Kevin Glenn, I have absolutely no faith that we actually win in 2007 with him at the helm. Revisionist history. I remember the 2007 season clearly, and if Glenn doesn't have his arm broken, we kill the Riders with our defense alone. Hell, they came within 4 points of winning the damn thing with Dinwiddie, and that included an "interception" that actually skipped off the turf and wasn't overturned because no replay yet... Could have .. should have .. would have .. doesn't matter. "Close" only counts with horseshoes and hand grenades.
  17. It's essentially thumbing their noses at us forum dwellers and I absolutely *HATE* the fact that they treat the CFL and the Bombers as second tier. Though, I will say that Bauming is usually the best of the bunch .. by a mile.
  18. People question Burris plenty .. there's a reason why there's a "Bad Hank"
  19. Merged with the existing discussion.
  20. I don't know if you're complimenting Bucknor or criticizing the others, but Bucknor has been pretty bad from what I've seen. Durant and Glenn picked on him over and over in week 1 and he's been making Chris Randle's job a lot harder. Don't understand the hate on for Westerman .. he hasn't been as bad as people are making him out to be .. perhaps it's a case of unrealistic expectations .. expecting a guy to be a ratio breaking Canuck right out of the gates .. but through two weeks he's racked up: * 1 forced fumble, 1 sack (leads the team in this area, tied with Bass) and 5 tackles (leads the defensive line in this area, tied with Peach) These aren't spectacular numbers but I temper that with what I've seen from the defense as a whole and how that unit has played so far under Hall. I see a guy who is improving through two games played .. not some colossal bust.
  21. They compare your tests to a baseline that is done before the season, or at least that is how other sports do it. He cant hide it if he's feeling effects from a concussion. And if he can hide things then that's his problem. You could be right. But if I had to bet on the expert medical staff versus you, Im going with them. You dont hold out players because you think they are lying about an injury with ZERO evidence to make you think that. To what end? A guy is cleared after a shoulder injury but you hold him out because he might be lying? Im as sensitive as anyone to concussions but this is overkill. This is a sport where there is an inherent risk that players assume when they choose to play. If ten or twenty years from now Willy suffers effects from injuries he suffers today, that is the risk he took. All available medical care is presumably being taken. You dont start guessing or using voodoo. Leave me out of this.
  22. I think the above really illustrates what a lot of people were saying about this hit .. glad that the league is taking an appropriate stance on this and offering the explanation they did.
