  1. @DarrinBauming 4m4 minutes ago Robert Marve on the the idea he wants to head to the NFL when his contract with the #Bombers expires following 2015
  2. @DarrinBauming 9m9 minutes ago Robert Marve just told me he wants to make it clear he wants to remain in the CFL and in Winnipeg. He doesn't have NFL aspirations next year
  3. Dile is also back at practice today.
  4. The Saskatchewan Dry Humpers .. if ever there was a more apt name .. I haven't seen one! Funny article.
  5. I've heard it on the radio (either the talking heads / Bauming on 1290 or Irving) mention that Richards had dealt with concussions playing university ball .. not saying that's what this injury is .. have no idea what's keeping him out of the lineup to be honest .. but I have heard similar things. How could he have gotten a concussion after 2 days of rookie camp? Again, I'm not suggesting that this IS what it is .. just confirming that I've heard he's dealt with this in the past .. that said, concussions are tricky things .. if you have a history of concussions .. something seemingly innocuous can trigger symptoms .. but the kicker is that every person responds differently .. hell, it's not even big shots that guys have to worry about .. it's repeated small blows that add up, over time, that cause damage. I *WILL* repeat myself .. not suggesting Richards is dealing with a concussion .. just confirming that I've heard the same thing as another poster.

  7. I'm hopeful. Our line has some solid road grading lineman that know how to run block now. Chungh seems to be capable of being an adequate run blocking lineman if Neufeld can't go, definitely more suited to that than pass pro in the early stages of his pro career. Picard has made his mark in the CFL as a run blocking beast. Bryant is just an all around awesome lineman. ... I'm hopeful. I don't disagree that we've got the bodies and have changed the makeup of our offensive line to suit a more physical / run based attack .. I just don't believe in our offensive coordinator .. if I'm proven wrong .. fantastic ..
  8. Personally, I don't have much faith that Bellefeuille will use our backs consistently (despite the offseason chatter) .. the CFL is a passing league .. I get it .. but the best friend of a young quarterback is a healthy running game .. take pressure off Willy ..and pound the ball a bit.
  9. Yup it's been confirmed.. now just to figure out if you need to be a TSN Go subscriber or any of that bull. Really hope not. Looking forward to seeing some football.
  10. Adidas has been Reebok's parent company since 2005.
  11. China came out and played defensively from the outset. Really taking away space and opportunities from the Canadians. It would have been something of an upset for Canada to lose to China .. especially as Canada needs to win their group to have a realistic chance of going deep in this tournament.
  12. Weird, I just want the best player possible there. As do I .. but the vibe coming out of camp is such that Hurl has all but been anointed our new starting MLB (at least when you hear the staff talk about him) .. so my hope is that one of those three guys steps up and makes the decision extremely hard .. that the competition is fierce and that someone isn't being handed a starting gig because: * they had the right passport * they were a "name" free agent acquisition * the people competing for the spot crapped the bed For full disclosure, I'm not a huge fan of Hurl. I feel he lacks range and athleticism ..which leads to being a liability in coverage. I also want an extremely physical MLB and feel strongly that either Allen or Bass can fill that role more ably. That said, if he (Hurl) steps up and over performs my expectations, I'll be pleasantly surprised and will be rooting for the guy.
  13. Well .. it *IS* Brown wearing 97 ..
  14. I'm hoping that one of Lamar, Bass (not playing this week) or Allen make it extremely difficult for the coaching staff to start Hurl at MLB ...
  15. Defense for tomorrow.
  16. Good call. I think if we signed him now his contract would be guaranteed for the season. So maybe the Bombers give him a look once the season starts, if Stoudermire's injury lingers and if none of the in house guys look good...What?Players on the roster to start the season get some type of guarantee. That's why teams often sign guys right after the season has started. I believe Romby Bryant was an example of this last year. Some guys have roster bonuses, but nobody's contract is guaranteed until after the 9th game. They get paid per game if on active, reserve or injured list, so teams might time signing guys in a way to avoid paying them a game cheque in-season.Why did the Bombers wait until after the season officially started last season to sign Romby Bryant? It was contract related.Yeah it was contract related as in he was under contract to the Argos. Bryant was one of the last cuts from the Argos TC and then signed with the Bombers less than a week later. No that wasn't it at all. Argos cut Bryant. We then brought him in for a tryout/look, but I recall Oshea saying we wouldn't officially sign him until after the season begun.Link? http://toronto.ctvnews.ca/veteran-receiver-romby-bryant-among-14-cuts-by-argos-1.1880721
  17. Merged threads for Day 7
  18. Yeah .. just tossing it out there for discussion .. I personally don't think he has the leg or consistency to legitimately compete for a kicking spot down south .. but found the "tone" of the tweet interesting (if nothing else).. Leg, maybe not. But what makes you question his consistency? Was more a quick comment on his punting ability vs his place kicking .. sorry .. should have clarified .. just shot off a quick note on my phone.

  20. Just saw this on the sidebar .. @Lirim_70 was a little murky when asked if he was interested in signing a contract extension w/ #Bombers. #CFL via @PentonKirk
  21. I sure hope we're paying him what he's worth. If O'shea thought he is good, then I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. I just hope he's not looking at it blindly, just like how he saw Ejiro Kuale at last year's TC. Was he looking at Kuale blindly? Or was he simply just the best that we had..as sad at that is. Kuale getting reps over Ian Wild was absolutely criminal.
