Good for Weatherman... err Westerman... bad on Daniels. any reports for our awesome group of long-haired Cdn LBs - Hurl, Newman, Waggoner and Briggs. Hurl continues to play a lot at MLB in the drills and scrimmages. Wouldn't surprise me to two starting Canadian linebackers to start the season. Thanks for the updates! I think Washington is going to be one of those guys who is going to struggle with PI this year .. for as dynamic a player as he is, he takes a tonne of undisciplined penalties. Strikes me as a Robert Bean type of DB .. a guy who relies on his athleticism to make plays in coverage (and get him out of jams) as opposed to being a fundamentally sound cover guy.

Every year they line up guys for a look in multiple positions. Last year Newman took reps in the middle, weak and safety. Now's the time of year to do it. Never suggested that's not the case .. in fact .. early in camp I expect there to be a bit of playing around, letting our new DC see where they guys fit into his scheme .. but I fully expect Randle to end up at CB.

I think it's just a training camp depth chart .. wouldn't read too much into it...

June 27, 2014 The CFL reached a new multi-year agreement with ESPN on Friday. A broadcast source said the deal is for five years. The agreement calls for a minimum of 17 regular-season games as well as the East and West Division finals being broadcast annually on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNEWS. All other contests will be available live on ESPN3 across computers, smartphones, tablets and connected devices. The Grey Cup game will be carried live on ESPN2. “We are thrilled for our fans in the United States that the ESPN networks will be the exclusive home of our league there,” CFL commissioner Mark Cohon said in a statement. “Since the early days of ESPN, CFL games have been a valued part of our programming lineup,” said Burke Magnus, senior vice-president, programming acquisitions. “I’m proud to see our relationship continue as we strive to serve football fans 365 days a year.”

Buck Pierce in 2011, 2012 it was BP/Elliot/Brink, 2013 it didn't matter as he only played one game. Hell, we had four different QBs take snaps during the regular season in 2011 .. wasn't any better in 2012 .. consistency at QB has not been our strong suit for awhile .. heh. In 2011 Buck started all but 2 games that season and most of the games he started he finished. Starting games doesn't mean he finished games ..

Problem with this team historically is that they draft NIs at skill positions with no real plan to utilize them. These guys become afterthoughts. See limited targets. And if / when they do start to struggle (or aren't as productive as some would like) .. it's easy to give up on these guys or form a skewed opinion of their play. I mean really, with the QBs this team had from 2011-2013 .. how productive do you expect a fourth or fifth receiver to be? That's what our OCs have used our NIs as for the last number of years.

Seems the Michael Sam discussion has run its course. The other discussion can carry on in General if those involved are so inclined.

This is no longer the case since Rogers and MTS got into bed together a few years back. They share towers in Manitoba so wherever you get an MTS signal you'll get a Roger's signal now. Was it not Bell who bought the controlling interest in MTS? Neither Rogers nor Bell have a 'controlling interest' in MTS.

Could care less. If the Argos sell out BMO on a regular basis .. good for the league .. good for that franchise. All I want is a healthy, viable CFL ..
