Terrell Parker & Mike McAdoo released

No formation would be complete without a couple of props and a hooker (read that as you will). -
Three new TSN channels coming soon.
voodoochylde replied to Fred C Dobbs's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
You absolutely *NEED* one channel dedicated to lumberjack / strongman competitions .. simply not enough time in the day for that sort of stuff. -
It's a good extention and well deserved .. I can't help but wonder where this team might be had they had better direction and leadership right out of the gate .. #gohabsgo

My first reaction on reading this article was (and I appologize if I offend) .. Oh ... My .... F***ING ... God ... this is going to be a long season.

[MOVED] Lyle Bauer back in Manitoba - Politics, not football
voodoochylde replied to Nasty Nate's topic in General Discussion
Nonsense? It's the foundation of parliamentary democracy. This is what *OUR* system of government is based on. And please, don't misake my post as partisan or left leaning. My political slant has nothing to do with my post. I simply can't let unfettered ignorance of how our system .. our parliament .. is supposed to function go unchecked. You can accuse me of ignorance but you're lacking common sense. Did the Libs and Dems have the *right* under our system to try and steal government? Sure. Did the Cons have the *right* to prorogue government to avoid that? Absolutely. They did the right thing for the country. Can you imagine a coalition of Libs and Dems guiding us through the recession? Yikes. it was bad enough when they forced the Cons to spend more than they intended and then wagged their fingers "look at this deficit"... the deficit would have been much higher under the Liberals. I'm not anti-conservative but giving credit to *this* Conservative government for guiding us through the recession would be like giving Yoko Ono credit for The Beatles. A couple of quick points regarding the economic stewardship we've benefitted from: * Surplus turned to deficit *BEFORE* the recession took hold. - Wait, there wasn't supposed to BE a recession!! * 25% increase in the national federal debt. * Increased household debt largely attributed to the introduction of 40 year, zero down mortgages. - Rolled back less than a year later. - Rolled back their 35 and 30 year mortgage options in 2011 and 2012 respectively. - Policy should never have been implemented to begin with. * Canadians are less informed about budgetary / spending due to the nature of this government. Truthfully, Canada and Canadians in general benefitted from the Liberal policies put in place by Paul Martin. It insulating our banking industry and protected us from the brunt of what went on worldwide. These same policies are ones which Harper and Reformers fought to have weakened / removed. -

Well it's not quite as simple as that, a coalition has to go to the governor general and convince him that they can govern rather than calling an election. Similarly prorouging is not some evil sin either, hell Chretien did it a ton too, Harper asked the governor general to do it, the governor general has to agree, and that's that. There's nothing scandalous about it. Both sides were using the tools at their disposal to play the game. I would never dispute any of that .. with one exception .. Chretien prorouged parliament only once, in 2002, in large part to avoid tabling a report which would have shed light on the sponsorship debacle. It was not a matter of confidence (at least not at that point in time). I tend to take exception to those who reinforce the notion that coalition governments are some diabolical political maneuver .. voting down the government on a matter of confidence and attempting to form a stable ruling majority is *not* a coup .. I certainly object to anyone who attempts to tell me that the government isn't answerable to Parliament. Parliament is an extension of the people .. and the government must ensure they have the confidence of our sitting representatives. -

You forgot the recent Dimitri Soudas scandal and firing, the outrageous amount spent on the G8 and G20 conferences including all of the money funneled to areas of Tony Clements' riding that had nothing to do with the conferences, the Helena Guergis scandal, proroguing parliament twice, etc. Proroguing parliament was 100% justifed. It's a legitimate tool and he used it to prevent the unelected left from essentially comitting a coup of the federal government. Look, the people can make their voices heard by voting. And if the lefties dont like Harper, they have a choice - win an election. They had the option of trying to steal government and Harper had the option of preventing it. He was right. And the people went on to back him be re-electing him so its a moot point. I wouldn't normally jump in here but this is complete and utter bullshit. The governement answers to parliament. Not the other way around. If the ruling party doesn't have the confidence of the House .. the House is well within it's means to vote down the government and form a collaborative majority which will allow them to govern with the confidence of the House or trigger an election if that stable majority cannot be established. This is not a coup. This is how our parliamentary democracy works. Harper proroguing parliament was nothing more than avoiding a confidence motion which would have defeated his government. -
Yet you have our dear Mayor making a big show of the mess at IGF ..

Great Bombers article from Gary Lawless today
voodoochylde replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
When media thinks it has a helpful friend in providing information they get gushing puff pieces like this. When and if Miller and co. cut off the information flow Lawless will be complaining about "inexperience" and "questionable hires" . It won't even take that long .. Lawless panders to the masses .. at the first inkling of trouble or adversity .. he will start questioning Miller et al. -
Fixed that for you.

Bombers trade for QB Brian Brohm; cut Justin Goltz
voodoochylde replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Burris, Reilly,Collaros ,Tate,Smith,Durant all have big arms. This is what I mean. Maybe these guys in the CFL don't have "NFL World Beater Calibre arms" but they sure have "Better than Winnipeg-level QB" arms. NFL Level NFL Practice Roster Level CFL Starting QB Level Me Current Bomber QB Level Oh dear god...not this again. I will beat you with your own arm. One of the main reasons I'm over here now is because of some guy deleting my QB thread from the other forum. I figured if they don't want to be in on the ground floor of greatness and the new era of Quarterbacking in Winnipeg I'd take my online attention elsewhere. You're like Road Griller with his "I love Goltz" comments from last year. Lay off SamCanadian .. I for one applaud his attention whoring and recognize him as one of the greatest Bomber quarterbacks never to take the field. Welcome to the site! -

A Look at the Blue Bombers Defensive Line
voodoochylde replied to JuranBoldenRules's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Simply put a "three technique" defensive lineman is one who typically lines up on the outside shoulder of the guard .. Yes .. there are others .. think of it like this: Starting at the C - a zero (0) technique would be head up on the center with a 1 being on either outside shoulder. At G you have 2i, 2, 3 (2i being inside shoulder, 2 head up and 3 outside shoulder) At T you have 4i, 4, 5 (4i being inside shoulder, 4 head up and 5 outside shoulder) In formations where a TE may be present you have a 6, 7, 8 and 9 technique .. and this breaks from the convention established but 6 is with a lineman lined up head up with the TE, 7 inside shoulder, 9 outside shoulder. An 8 technique is used to describe a wide defensive end alignment (wider than the 9). -
Defensive back Jeremy McGee and offensive lineman Shannon Boatman have been released. #Bombers

Well .. we now have an 'experienced' running back under contract .. not a huge fan of Ford personally but at least he is familiar with the CFL, the game and some of Marcel's offensive philosophy ..
-
Not gonna lie .. I read this as @dog_fart ..
-
I wouldn't expect to find any accurate or relevant scouting reports, this guy is 27 years old and hasn't played meaningful football in almost 7 years. I'm not even 100% convinced that he's signed a contract. So where has he been playing? I'm a little concerned about a 27 yr old who hasn't played meaningful football in 7 years. He does look to be a long shot to make the team, but all we can do is hope that the scouting saw something in him worth a longer look. John Madden said that every year when he was in the NFL his team would bring in an interesting long shot. Not concerned in the least .. I'm certain he's not going to be the *ONLY* running back in camp .. he's simply a guy they want to see a little more of ..
