I mean ... really? You think this is salary cap related? He's most certainly taking a pay cut to do this. He's just planning for a career that has a longer term outlook than football and props to him for it.
-
Look at it this way ... way better alternative than him leaving us to sign with a rival. And while not ideal, Goossen to Couture is the kind of cap savings that ought to free up some money to either certainly improve Chungh's offer, sign a name receiver or possibly even both.
-
Surprised that it's a retirement, I did think he was going home to play in BC, not to pursue another career. Kind of assumed he would've told the Bombers about his intentions to not return but it really should be stated that it makes him a big time class act that he did so. He put his house up for sale shortly after the season ended, which is why I had an inkling he wouldn't be back.
-
I think Goossen is the one not coming back and to be honest, it seems all but certain. Dont know if Chungh comes back but I do know I’ll be very surprised to see Goossen back.
-
He has a vision problem. It’s easier for him.

I was watching highlights of that cornerback we took and I was thinking he looked ... okay but he was also the biggest (non-lineman) guy on the field ... then I read he's 5'9" .......

This whole Mexican thing is such a joke. Embarrassing for the CFL.

I mean, this really just reeks of “this is my opinion so it must be right” ..

I still kick myself for the time I didn’t harass KO for a picture together at the gym a couple Christmases ago 😂

Honestly, I find myself hoping Kenny signs with AEW. I really believe I'm in a weird place right now as a fan of wrestling and I want something to spark my interest again. I've been a fan since i was a pre-teen and I remember growing up watching WCW and WWF - it was can't miss stuff for a lot of my youth and while I know that I may never have the same genuine interest in it ever again (people grow, tastes change, etc), I still believe I could support something if it was an accessible product worth supporting. WWE is god awful terrible garbage. I still find myself getting hyped up for certain things ... I go to a friend's house for a Royal Rumble party and a Wrestlemania party annually, I catch clips of segments if they sound can't miss (I don't honestly think this happened in 2018) and I always seem to keep up with the ongoing news related to WWE as far as signings, pushes, etc to see if there's anything that could ever pique my interest. I don't blame any of the performers for signing there or staying there - it's a business and WWE is a great way to make $ and lots of them are like me - grew up wanting to perform at Wrestlemania or whatever. I get it. I just can't get into the product. It's horrible. I remember being hyped for AJ, hyped for Balor, hyped for Joe, hyped for so many big names and the main roster formula manages to **** it all up. Damn near every time. AEW as a product gives me some hope. If they land some kind of deal (TV, streaming, whatever) that can get their product in front of some real volume of viewers, then I think they have a shot to be the real 1B to WWE's 1A - not in the sense that they'll ever be as huge when you're talking global footprint, but in the sense that they could put on a competitive product that could be akin to the Monday Night Wars in some form. Depends on who they get for talent as well, though. I'd love to see them try and get exclusive deals but maybe that's not realistic for a lot of the talent. However, give me a product that is potentially able to put Omega, Jericho, Pentagon, Fenix, the Bucks, etc on my screen on a regular basis? I'm all in on that, especially because I know the minds behind the product are smart enough to not have them doing stories where their manager pisses themselves or have them wrestle the same boring match 573 weeks in a row. It's too bad WWE has signed so much talent that could really make their mark in a new company. I'm still hyped for guys like Cole, Black, Dream, etc but I have no faith that they're not going to be just as mismanaged once they hit Raw or Smackdown as everybody else. Sad.

This quite honestly might be the dumbest thing I have ever read on a Bomber fan board ever and that includes my own posts from when I was 12.

If you ask me, it's both. People who think replacing Nichols with Streveler (which i am very in favour of, just not for this year) is going to mean a huge uptick in production are probably going to be disappointed. That being said, people who think Nichols doesn't hamper us a little bit are also wrong, in my opinion. I feel like Nichols has some weaknesses that don't really lend themselves well to being hidden in a Paul LaPolice offence. Streveler's ability to introduce an extra level of motion into our offence, along with his legs that are a weapon unlike anything Nichols has to offer, could be exactly what we need on offence. That being said, we also have no hope in hell if we go into next year with DA as our number 1 receiver. If it were up to me, I would go after two American receivers - one to replace Dressler's role and one to bump Darvin down the pecking order. Darvin is an awesome receiver, he's just not the #1 guy on a team that asks their #1 guy to essentially do it all himself. Pair him up with a Chris Matthews, Bryant Mitchell or a Greg Ellingson? Absolutely. Dream scenario for me next year (and let's keep in mind I don't claim to believe we could come even remotely close to affording this under the cap without either a huge boost in the CBA or a deep cut somewhere else) would be to see us trot out Harris, Adams, Wolitarsky, Mitchell, Jalen Saunders and Simonise. Throw Adams and Simonise out wide, use Woli/Bryant/Saunders in the slot and you'd have the potential to be the most prolific offence in the league. I think our best case scenario is signing one of Saunders/Mitchell. Sub out Diontae Spencer and Chris Matthews/Greg Ellingson if you want. TL;DR we need some new ****ing receivers
-
Ohhh nice. Out of the loop I guess. Can't say I know anything about him, but hey, one of these guys will turn out to be the next Diontae Spencer one day. Eventually.
-
I guess what I meant was who is Evan Clark? Did we sign him or something?
-
Am I missing something here?
-
You might want to recheck your numbers there.
-
What?

This is so unrealistic it’s not even funny

What part of his resume has impressed you? The part where he curbed padded practices (ironically, in the name of player safety) even though not one party involved was incredibly for it because it lowers their ability to practice effectively? The part where he has instructed teams to not pay offseason bonuses to players, which is an incredibly heavy handed bargaining tactic that serves no real purpose other than to agitate players? The part where he’s had an inconsistent handling of players with criminal charges, to the point that he had to “personally approve” the contract of a guy who was never found guilty of anything, while they let Euclid Cummings play for a year without having a hot clue he had been charged with a crime? The part where he’s literally changed rules mid-season in what can only be described as a true effort to make our league look bush league? The part where the only thing he’s done to address player safety is reiterate the same statements he made the first time the issue came up a year ago? Or maybe it’s the part where the best efforts he’s made to grow a market in his tenure here is to ignore the three struggling markets that are essentially to the stability of our league and instead choose to focus on a partnership with a Mexican league that has been in existence for three years, and let’s keep in mind this is in the face of two upstart American leagues that are becoming a serious threat to poach significant talent from our league in the short-term, but hey, don’t worry I guess, the brand new “designated Mexican” position will save our talent pool. Ambrosie has been catastrophic.
-
This idea of adding a “designated Mexican” sounds like far and away the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard of this league doing in my lifetime. Ambrosie has been an awful commissioner. His ideas are ridiculous and this whole Mexico nonsense sounds like a horribly thought out way for him to expense his annual resort vacation and nothing more. Imagine trying to explain this to somebody new to the league if and when it goes through. ”Okay, so the CFL has a few different rules ... for one, since it’s the Canadian Football League, teams are required to have a set amount of Canadians on the roster ... also, every team must dress one Mexican” “Mexican? Why?” ”............”
-
Bryant Mitchell would be my number 1 free agency target if he’s out there
-
An upgrade from Dressler to a dominant receiver that pushes Darvin to #2 on our depth chart. A replacement for Chris Randle A more steady, solid third import receiver (but this should ideally be a new recruit, to be honest) A safety, since I’m going to assume Loffler leaves town
-
Even when Nichols completed a pass today, it forced the receiver to hit the dirt and made it impossible for them to make a play. He was absolutely terrible.
