If anyone (I'm sure this is probably mostly for Floyd) is wondering where Brayden Lenius went, it's because he changed his last name. He's Brayden Dickey now. RA's baby boy. I think his senior season was pushed back a year and he transferred to Portland State who recruited him as a TE but he apparently is no longer with them either?

Wouldn't mind Korte in the first, but I can't see us taking Dubois. I do agree we'd take Bo Banner there ... or even Beaulieu. I don't see Simonise going in the first ... not after his combine. Also can't see Rutherford/Hunter going so early either, unless they're not futures but then in that case, you could argue they could go top 3. Also, where is Cibasu on his board? The way I see it shaking out as of right now would like ... Chapman to MTL, Shepley to HAM, Korte to BC, Onyeka to OTT and then who knows.

arguing over weight differentials that you could see a player at either end of the spectrum on in the same week. I wonder how many people could stare at any of our MLB prospects out of pads and guess within 5 pounds of their actual weight.

I’d like to hope Shepley is there for us ...

Prewitt is a potentially huge signing, although I have no idea where they envision him playing in our lineup because he’s essentially blocked by Fenner and Leggett ... This guy was playing lights out in college and heading into his senior year, there were people who thought he was going to be a better NFLer than Landon Collins... then he had a terrible senior year and some health concerns and he went undrafted and kind of fizzled out.
-
Simonise is a guy I'd like to see us get - but he's probably a two year guy here and that's it. If he shows absolutely anything at all in the CFL, he's going to the NFL. I'd take it though, our championship window is open.

I did forget about Mrabure ... I'd be failing myself if I didn't point out that you may be slightly "grass is greener on the other side"-ing the depth in Calgary if you're going to talk up guys like Grozman and Colling and then turn around and say you have question marks about guys like Ekakitie and Wolitarsky - but still, I think both teams have questions to answer. I think Muamba is worth the price tag. I also think there's more at play than just deciding if we can trim salary and add Muamba. Quite honestly, if it was up to me and I was making moves without considering the collateral damage you can do to your franchise, I would've cut Wild yesterday to bring in Muamba but there are things that I don't think we can discount that impact a decision like that - is this franchise in the business of cutting guys they JUST signed (aka ****ing them over big time) to new deals? I don't think they are. That limits the moves they can make. Do they want to bring in a guy who doesn't come across as much of a "team first" type? Or if you want to go one step further, a "winner"? I'm not sure they want to make all these decisions for a guy like that. Would I? Probably. But I don't think I'm in a position to say that we can just ignore those other factors. Whether I agree with it or not, I do think this team places a lot of value on the idea of a "all for one" mentality in the locker room and it's not just about assembling the most talent possible - when you look at Calgary, you can kind of understand why. They want pieces that fit the room. Maybe they're not sure they want to pay the premium for a guy who may not accomplish that.

And FWIW, I don't think we are the only "top flight" West team with Canadian question marks. I don't even think ours are the biggest question marks. Calgary, way more issues than us IMO ... they've got Singleton, Bergman, Erdos, Wilson, they've got to find 2 receivers to play for them between Brescacin/Parker/Durant and then they still need another starter somewhere whether it's Wiggan/Colling at DT or Adeleke at SAM. Don't know about the health status of Lavertu or Turner, but I suppose they could be factors (Turner more so than Lavertu, who I think may be finished) Saskatchewan is in just as rough shape if not worse, Edmonton has a few question marks but they're looking alright. I guess all I'm saying is it's normal to have questions that need answering in March.

Harris, Demski, Coates, Neufeld, Goossen, Chungh, Loffler Seems pretty straight forward to me. Not ideal, but I don't mind Coates as a player anyways. Don't think we have to count on anyone to make huge strides this year ... just health, which is any team. I'd love to have Muamba ... don't much care for him as a professional, but he is a good football player ... but really, the best thing you can do is make your best offer and it appears we've done that. If we don't get him, fine. Oh well.
-
Tell me how doing what Muamba is doing is working for him, considering how all these articles keep coming out about how he wants to sign here or here or here and yet, he's gone what? a month with no deal? Pretty obvious that when you get released at the time he did, you need to re-evaluate your expectations on market value because most of the money has already been spent. Getting released after being paid a bonus isn't a chance for you to make even more money than you normally would.
-
Why the hell is Muamba worth 200k a year? He's going to get paid 235k this season? Unrealistic.

Well, Marshall Ferguson doubling down on last year's trend of him posting mock drafts that make no sense. https://www.cfl.ca/2018/03/15/mock-1-0-will-alouettes-take-first/ Never quite understand his logic or reasoning. But I'll take as much draft coverage as I can get.
-
That much I can agree with. All I'm saying is individuals will still be individuals.

I mean ... are we forgetting that Euclid Cummings was a Bomber when all this stuff happened with him that's just becoming public now? Bruce Johnson was also a player that was suspended for drug policy infractions during his time here. It could just as easily be a Bomber next time again as well.

Game 68 : Johnston Terminal @ Reading Terminal Market
Mike replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
At first, you could just blame it on a lack of chemistry with Laine and Ehlers. Then he centered Perreault and Roslovic and they went ice cold ... now Connor and Wheeler look awful. Little has honestly been where offense goes to die. It's awful. Hopeful we're able to move his contract and bring back Stastny on a comparable deal. -

Doesn't have a whole lot to do with today's game, but just generally speaking ... Bryan Little has become absolute trash. -
CFL looking really bad in all of this ...
-
So the league knew ... but he kept playing? And only now does he get his contract voided? and the next question ... why the hell wouldn’t the league tell potential suitors about this? something doesn’t make sense here.

I'm actually shocked people are upset we gave up a first round pick. Who cares? Why?! The way I look at it, even if you figure we got "ripped off", for lack of a better term, we could afford to. We don't have room for all the assets we have, so we had to either lose some or condense them in a package for something like this at some point. We just stacked our top 9 even more for a Cup push and got two young superstars a possession positive defensively responsible playmaking center that should work very well between them. Erik Foley gone? So what? Where would he fit in our lineup? We already don't have room for Vesalainen without making some moves and we're about to lose Petan for nothing next year ... so who cares about Erik Foley? We didn't lose Samberg, Vesalainen, Stanley or Niku ... we are a Cup contending team that made themselves better today and all it cost us of note is a (probably) late first round pick. What I'm really wondering about ... if Stastny turns out to be a fit here between the two young Euros ... do we look to bring him back on some term next year if we can maybe move Little out? I would assume that at 32 years old, Stastny would probably come a little bit cheaper and Little doesn't necessarily seem to be a great fit for the roster around him anymore.

Dunno if I can make it, but snagged tickets to the 40 and the 1 on 1's

Yeah I figured he'd want to head to Ottawa too.

we did? Why? Because there's a shuffling of the deck chairs coming in the minds of some rabid forum posters?

I hope Denmark ends up on our team in some capacity at some point. Smart player like that seems like he'd be made for coaching.
