  1. He's 230. Pro day weight as of a couple months ago.
  2. I remember I was standing in line for a beer at Dodger Stadium streaming the audio to this on my phone at the time. Freaked out when Julian came down with that pass, Bobby Irving had a great call for it too. I also think that it was Quincy McDuffie who burned us for a long return TD to set us back in that game.
  3. Here's a throwback name: Remember in 2008 when we had Romby Bryant as a rookie? Until I just read the archives, I forgot all about little Danny Sheldon who was back and forth with him all camp. Then he got cut and was never heard from again.
  4. I remember him. http://olympics.nbcsports.com/2014/01/15/abraham-morlu-sochi-olympics-us-bobsled-liberia/ He sure makes it sound like it was his choice to walk away from football. As if they wanted a guy that couldn't tell if his playbook was upside down or not.
  5. I couldn't tell you one guy beyond Ed Gainey they plan on starting in their secondary right now, which means even if they have as talented a group as any, it's going to take weeks for them to gel.
  6. 2006! Dante Booker, Onterrio Smith and Henri Childs. Great names in the mix there. That was also the year Duncan O'Mahony didn't show up to camp because he went missing.
  7. 2005 was obviously Gavin Walls' year, but Marvin Townes was getting some major press from Taman as a running back prospect that year and from the archives I'm reading, Buck Rasmussen was a big DT they were high on before camp (spent a year with the Patriots before that) who then got released like three days in. The name Elgin Hicks keeps popping up too. Oursportscentral.com is a great site for archives on all of this stuff.
  8. 2004 was a good one ... I remember Taman was high on 2 receivers we signed that had NFL experience, Ramondo North and Darcey Levy - total busts. Rashad Faison was that year as a DB too, I remember he turned heads in camp and fizzled out. The guy to remember ended up being Tom Canada.
  9. I wonder what Justin Surrency is up to these days
  10. How bad do you have to be to get cut as a 6'4" Canadian defensive back with a high pre-draft ranking and one year under your belt?
  11. More what I'm getting at is was it his choice to not be here for the start of camp because of NFL opportunities or is he a late add because he's far down our list? Because he looks good. He looks like what we want Gerrard Sheppard to be. I'm watching his highlight film and literally half of it is him destroying guys on blocking assignments or chasing down kicks on specials.
  12. They would've known about this guy for a while, so I'm wondering what it was that took him so long to come up. He was Zavian Bingham's teammate at Jackson State last year - they wanted Bingham too, but SSK neg-listed him.
  13. Momentary lapse in intelligence. Thanks.
  14. What's this Winnipeg PR guy NFL job thing??
  15. I was thinking the same thing ... but have you heard anything about ANYBODY? It's been bad. Other than the quarterbacks, and even that is mostly Nichols ... all we seem to get is "player X is not practicing today"
  16. The media has been abysmal in coverage this year. Like entirely awful. I hate to say it, because I really like Ed Tait, but even his coverage has been minimal. I know they're trying to appeal to the less diehard fans, but I'd really like to see more "who is looking good in competition" and less "who is nicknamed after turds" and "who likes to drive around the country in the offseason" There are literally players on our roster right now that I have not heard a single thing about all camp. I didn't even know we had one guy named Walker, and apparently we have two. L'Damian Washington ... where's he been? I saw the media say we signed Justice Liggins, but that's about it. Who is Bostic? It's pathetic. This "new blood" in the media needs to figure it out. Jeff Hamilton ... the guy who replaced Ed Tait ... last time he tweeted about training camp was June 3rd and all he said was "hey, here's a picture that proved I'm actually here!"
  17. "Nothing ventured, nothing lost" is the line coming out of the mouthpiece. Nothing ventured ... you know ... except valuable camp time in a situation where you could've given reps to a guy that actually had a shot.
  18. Forgot we had Toronto's third rounder next year. That means two great things then - we can easily afford to burn one if we want AND Toronto would have to step up and bid a second rounder. Excellent.
  19. I see Edmonton, Toronto and potentially BC all being teams into this. I don't expect to get Bartlett.
  20. It was funny watching Menard-Briere on Sunday. Medlock was kicking 60 yarders and Menard-Briere was warming up for 35 yarders, he saw Medlock start kicking and promptly moved back. I don't think he had the leg for 60, but he was pushing 50 for sure. He also nailed a few HUGE punts. Had a few ugly ones too, though.
  21. Brandyn Bartlett supplemental draft goes Thursday at 8 AM EST. I'm wondering if the Bombers will look at bidding. I kind of feel like he'll go for a higher price tag than we'd be interested in, but I'd be prepared to give up a third rounder for him I think.
  22. Nichols and Medlock want to play to get used to the field. I'm good with it.
  23. On a personal and administrative level, I say no thanks. We as a website want no part of "an attack" on anyone. Especially Nude Morris.
  24. All aboard the Poop Johnson bandwagon.
