  1. Now we just need to sign his little brother Todd.
  2. Haven't heard from him this morning, might be too late.
  3. I would assume this is a deal for more than just this season Quite honestly though, Gurley reminds me a lot of Derrick Armstrong. I hope that's what kind of signing this turns out to be.
  4. not even sure why we bothered at this point, if he was still available today it's obviously because nobody wanted him.
  5. The only one of the three I wanted. He's a great receiver and he's exactly what we needed - a red zone monster.
  6. Really wish I was able to go to the game Saturday instead of having to go home and listen to this nonsense. You know what doesn't happen? Nichols: 82! 82! PINEAPPLE! Z DROP Z DROP! 82! AVALANCHE KUMQUAT GBILL HUT! HUT! Me: I am so much wiser now. That.
  7. MBRG pretty much nailed it in regards to explaining my post. I didn't say anything about you.
  8. ... do we need an upgrade at receiver all that badly? I would like to get Gurley but truthfully, he's the only one of the three I had any interest in whatsoever. But with Darvin Adams returning in a couple games and our ratio allowing us to play 4 imports, why exactly do we have such a pressing need at receiver? Truthfully, Gurley would be a luxury for us. Seems like everyone is just overreacting, to be honest.
  9. Lawless literally said yesterday that it sounds like Hamilton and Winnipeg are interested. Not picking on your post specifically, I just don't understand why people think this is going to come together in a day or two. When does it ever?
  10. I think you're letting your emotions get the best of you right now.
  11. Gurley and Elliott both likely making hardly much more than an entry level salary and they're not really in a position to demand a pay bump (even if their production warrants it) after they've been released.
  12. Right by Kingsford, I think? Those are such a pain, but you're right - they work. Way more than that awful school zone nonsense does. What I think is awfully telling is that the school zones in most elementary school areas don't even have the same reach that the patrol system does. There's frequently patrols set up beyond the school zone markings when I drive by Sun Valley or John de Graff schools. It's so clear that it's a cash grab that it isn't even worth debating.
  13. Some of us don't boo a guy and wish bad things upon him simply because he didn't play good football for us. Willy was a professional and a great guy in the community. I have no problem cheering for a guy like that when he's not playing us and I have no idea what goes on in the head of people who think he should be treated like the plague.
  14. Why Ryan Smith? Because at this point, I'm keeping Darvin Adams (who is a FA) over Smith and it's pretty obvious by our scouting and targeting in trades recently (Quinshad Davis, MeKale McKay) that they still want to add some size to the group we have. Plus we have a second year out of Thomas Mayo. My group of receivers, if I had my way next year, would be Adams-Dressler-Mayo/Denmark-recruit-Canadian There just isn't room for Smith, to be honest. Even though I think he's great when he's healthy.
  15. I'm a big Boldewijn fan, I wouldn't be opposed to bringing him in at all.
  16. a got dang slobberknocker
  17. This had honestly never even occurred to me but now that Saskatchewan has reeled off 2 in a row ... MAYBE
  18. Why did Saskatchewan trade Chris Williams to Hamilton or Ja'Gared Davis to Calgary? Deal from a position of need on your negotiation list to acquire an asset that helps you out. Even if McKay is great, how likely is it that he's going to get an opportunity to show that immediately when he's fighting for a spot with Tasker, Toliver, Fantuz, Chiles and Owens?
  19. Hope he's okay. He deserves a better fate than an injury prior to his first start.
  20. If McKay signs and becomes the next Roosevelt, is he still a dime a dozen?
  21. To be fair, I think the Ryan Smith experiment is over after this year.
  22. I won't bother with the negatives, as every scouting report for guys that become options up here are full of negatives that would make you wonder "what the **** would this guy possibly bring to a team" but what I like off the positives is he's a converted basketball player with a solid post-up game on jump balls, and he's either i) able to get good separation, as he averaged like 20 yards a grab in college or ii) a load to bring down in the open field We need that.
  23. Yeah. According to him, we need a starting goalie or a scorer.
  24. Bender's insights compare reasonably well to the "belligerent drunk" demographic of fans.
