How am I trolling? I've held the same belief for a very long time -- Burnett is not a SAM linebacker. Or a DB. BC didn't think he was. We don't think he is. It seems like the professionals are on the same side of the argument that I am. Nobody has been able to suggest anything that has led me to believe otherwise.

The Joke that is the Winnipeg Blue Bomber franchise
Mike replied to IC Khari's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
We're all watching the same dumpster fire. Not everyone responds the same way, and I definitely do believe the way some people respond and behave is something that could be improved upon. But at this point, I don't think I can blame anyone. I think we're all sick of it and we just choose to cope (is that the best word?) in different ways. -
That can't be right ... Who remembers CRAPHONSO?
-
He's 6'1", 215 pounds ... I don't get the argument, especially if it's just "he is the right size" as if that's suddenly more important than basically everything else.
-
Imagine one.

... but we have Loffler and Leggett. Still no idea what you're getting at. Our needs right now are at corner and half, not safety or SAM.
-
I don't understand this comment. The positions Burnett backs up are healthy. He literally backs up two spots on our defense and both of them are healthy. What are you getting at?
-
pretty sure he's FA after this year

This is true, Joey has been on Jensen for years.

I want Brock "Lesnar" Jensen.

Oh yeah and Ramonce Taylor

Here's a name for the "training camp stud" pile Justin Surrency

I've always found it interesting that the level headed individuals on this forum that describe their interactions with executives, players, coaches, etc always seem to come away with a positive impression. It's only a "certain" type of individual who seems to describe their experiences as poor. Almost as if their behavior is what led to the way they were treated.

Half those guys didn't fall through any cracks in the CFL though.

1995 was his rookie year then he took off to the NFL until 2001

huh?

Blows my mind that I read today Juran Bolden led our team in interceptions 21 years ago. 1995.

Does a blow out at home Thursday get MOS fired?
Mike replied to White Out's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Initially last night, I didn't think I wanted O'Shea gone. For that exact reason - I don't want LaPolice or Hall as the head coach either. Because we've seen that story one too many times before. But you're right - if the best reason we can keep a guy is that at least it's not another guy, that's not a reason at all. Get rid of him and make sure management does the right thing in the offseason. O'Shea is done. -
If the coaching is so bad that even our all-stars underperform, how do you know the new talent is bad? Maybe they're being brought down as well. PS - if you think our Canuck talent is weak, you should look again. Did you see Jones/Morgan/Loffler out there last night? All depth. All young. All Canadian. All very respectable performances.

Willy has been telegraphing every single thing he does almost all season. He telegraphs his hand offs, he basically stares down Dressler every time he throws that screen pass ... he's so broken it's not even funny.
-
Cuz they're hungry to play and our starters are just walking around defeated. One thing that caught my eye. Darvin Adams - who is an easy example, because he's probably got the most obvious body language of any player on our team - walked around looking pissed off all game until Nichols came in. Hit Adams with a 10 yard catch. Adams gets pumped up. Because there was some hope.
-
He didn't even make it to main camp, he was at rookie camp where Jace Davis wasn't even present. ... how the **** does Kevin Cone make it to training camp over a guy like Ricky Collins. Seriously. If that's PURE talent analysis, that's embarrassing.
-
Kyle Walters signed a big play receiver this offseason. Mike O'Shea cut him. The only reason we realized it is because some other team gave him a chance. Kind of makes you wonder how many other players Mike O'Shea has cut that were mistakes.
-
I'm not saying Ricky Collins specifically. Because he's just one example. But look at him. Tattooed. Gold grill. Personality. Attitude. And what else? He's a damn good football player. And we had him - but we got rid of him. Why? I honestly don't think our talent evaluation is that bad. I think our evaluation of the kind of men we want on our football team is. I'm going to be blunt about it even though I think it's probably going to ruffle some feathers. I think Ricky Collins got cut from this team because he's not Carlton Banks. You can't blame Walters or our scouts - they signed this kid. And look at him in Saskatchewan. Circus catches for TDs and first downs. Top 5 players in the CFL in yards per catch? Walker. Bowman. Williams. Ellingson. Ricky Collins. This kid is an example of the football player we needed on this football team and I kind of have to believe at this point that he got overlooked because he's not the "take home to meet the family, hold the door open for grandma" type. What else is it? Where is the attitude on our team? The only player we really whole heartedly market is Andrew Harris and while he's definitely got some personality, it's the hometown factor that we market. Not his attitude or his personality. Other than that? We don't seem to have a whole lot of it because O'Shea seems to be more interested in recruiting players he would trust babysitting or taking grandpa to the doctor. Gimme some KD Williams, Jonathan Hefney, Brandon Dyson guys. This team needs it.

I think Kyle Walters and company bring in a lot more talent than people think. Unfortunately, the criteria being used to evaluate which players we want on our roster (and make no mistake, it's Mike O'Shea who does this) is not hitting the mark.
