  1. Goes back to them giggling together on the sideline last week. The Stoudermire pic is still hilarious! Maybe try lightening up a little...frankly I find you a little creepy now.
  2. That's my worry too. Let's just hope Wild will make the Steelers roster even on PR. Btw, Brian Peters is a long shot to make the Vikings. Im not sure about Jalil Carter. Peters played for Ritchie Hall's D. Carter played for Mike O'shea's ST. Any of those 3 is a welcome addition. I've read conflicting reports on our cap situation this year, but the most recent had us in the range of $600k in cap space remaining. Previous had us $100k over though, so not sure how accurate those reports really are. 0% accurate. We've got millions of dollars in cap space left this year so far.
  3. I got the impression after talking with his agent today that the contract Simmons has only goes until the end of the year. Could be wrong, because I didn't ask outright.
  4. Funny no mention of being with the Stampeders. #expunged Look in the second sentence lol
  5. Weighs far less than that. Moved to end this year.
  6. If we got Bilukidi, our defense would actually start to look insane. Westerman - Bilukidi - Turner/Collins - Gibson Bass - Simmons - Randle Adams - Washington - Leggett - Johnson - Bucknor On paper that's incredible.
  7. If anyone was planning on making a last minute trip to Regina for the Labour Day game, I've got some hotel rooms / tickets available. 10 tickets available in Section 56, rooms are available at the Wingate Hotel across the street from the casino ... you'd be sitting in the same section as 45 other Bomber fans, including a number of people from this place and you're welcome to join our party all weekend long. Have 10 tickets, 2-3 rooms available so ideally I'd like to push them out in groups of 3 or 4. Face value for everything, $65 a ticket and $320 per hotel room (it's booked for two nights) PM for details.
  8. If our team is entirely healthy, the answer has to be Patrick Neufeld or Dominic Picard.
  9. I guess... I just did not envision this guy as our parachute - he's going to get massacred in an MB offence A bit surprised that Yantz really didn't get a look at all or Portis for that matter Why would either of those two get a look? This is a chance to roster a QB4 as a developmental project - we've already decided we don't want either of those guys in that role. Russell will come in as the project and compete with Davis for reps. It's not an emergency hunt for a QB1 who knows our offense.
  10. Who said that? If true, that's fantastic. Yeah I'd love to hear the source of that one, that'd be awesome if it's true.
  11. They wouldn't necessarily have to make any changes. But they could do a number of things. Could be interesting.
  12. Boom done. I like this move a lot.
  13. No waivers in the CFL anymore. Starts fresh.
  14. Stanley Bryant. Jamaal Westerman. Garrett Waggoner. Marc Dile. Sam Hurl. Darvin Adams. Dominic Picard. ... even the ones we missed out on. Marcus Ball. SirVincent Rogers. Shawn Lemon. ... I don't know if you missed it, but they DID go for the Cup. They still are. The bounces haven't gone our way yet. It's August though. Let's see what happens.
  15. Huh? Where did that come from.
  16. I hope they give Corey Lewis a shot, not Devin Tyler.
  17. Not sure why Twitter is so quick to say this was terrible work by the agent. Maybe. Or maybe he just got his client a fresh start with a chance at a pay increase from the league minimum he might've been making. I wouldn't be surprised if Winnipeg signed Simmons.
  18. Yes,true. But the Stamps are paying Simmons his full salary not dressing. I empathize with him but he's going about this the wrong way. My understanding from what I heard on CHQR radio here in Calgary (Stamps play by play station) is that Huff has tried to trade Simmons the past 2 weeks but there's been no takers. You keep saying full salary as if that means anything. Full salary for Simmons likely means near league minimum. His coin is made by being on the field.
  19. I also think you using Shawn Lemon is a funny example considering before he went to Calgary, he was a Bomber and quit in a very Nic Grigsbyish fashion because he didn't immediately get playing time.
  20. Wow, poor guy. Can't beat out the starting linebackers in front of him. Didn't ask for a trade. He's a slave. Welcome to pro football.Pretty harsh the guy just wants to play and if he is not good enough to even dress for Calgary let him play somewhere. These guys aren't making big bucks. Lots of guys are in Jasper Simmons' place & don't do what he & his agent did. Not everyone can play & start. They don't run to twitter & start bitching. If he's being held "hostage" by the Stamps like he claims & doesn't like it then he should quit & do something else with his life. In a story yesterday it was reported that Simmons is getting his full salary whether he dresses or not. So, this stuff about not being able to take care of his family is rubbish. Two years ago Sean Lemon was backing up Corderro Law & wasn't dressing for games like Simmons is now. John Hufnagel said he was in his office every week complaining & saying he wanted to play. At the time, Lemon was extremely upset. Huff told him to be patient & continue to work hard. Well, Law left for the NFL & Lemon got his chance with the Stamps last season & had a great year. Now he's getting a shot with the 49ers. Lemon never bitched publicly like Simmons did or had his agent call out the Stampeders. He just went about his business & acted like a pro even though he was unhappy. Things certainly worked out for Lemon since. I'm of the mind that you (nor I) are really in position to tell anyone else how they should or should not manage their life as it pertains to taking care of their family. Maybe he's getting his full salary - now what if he makes league minimum and his best way of making money is by being on the field, making plays? Football is a fickle business and in a sport where contracts are not guaranteed, I don't ever criticize a player who decides to make a decision (whether I agree with it or not) to try and maximize their earning potential. Mike, he's under contract to the Stamps & getting paid. Were you saying that last year when Nic Grigsby walked into Osh's office & gave him a "Play me or release me" ultimatum? Everyone on this board called the guy a quitter when he was released. I don't recall you or very many defending Grigsby. How is this different? And since when is pro football all about equal playing time? Stamps are exceptionally strong at linebacker. Simmons has to do what others did in the past when in a similar situation. Work hard, continue to work hard, be patient, wait for the opportunity & then make the most of it. Not cry about it on twitter. Grigsby chose to sign with Winnipeg. Simmons didn't ask to be traded to Calgary. All I know is I can sympathize with Simmons - he went from one of the best situations in the league to one of the worst for him personally. And we can talk about how exceptionally strong the Stamps are at linebacker all we want, he deserves to be on that roster - I have no idea why he isn't - and while he's maybe not going about it the best way, the end result is that this whole ordeal is going to give him what he wants.
