  1. Very good point. I read recently that the Bombers are projected to finish the season ~$100-200k over the cap. Obviously that'll change with some creativity by Walters, but we're there already. Doubt it. We paid a LOT of money out under the 2014 cap last year. Nick Moore is hardly making anything on the 2015 cap, for example.
  2. Agreed! I don't know about you, but TD's get me out of my seat .... Willy can throw deep, accurately, something we haven't had in years! Yeah, I thought two of the three longest touchdowns in the league this year might be exciting but that's just me maybe.
  3. And yet, if we win Thursday, we'll be ahead of them in the standings so again I ask - what are you looking for? Get out of your seat excitement? Or winning?
  4. I guess if wanting to see the Bombers finally start to win is an agenda, then I have an agenda. It's pretty obvious you have an agenda. You're not quite at the point of making stuff up, but whenever Brohm is brought up, you make excuses for his lackluster play and whenever Willy is brought up, not only do you downplay his abilities, you go as far as padding your valid points with a bunch of nonsense just to try and get extra jabs in at the guy. I literally saw you downplay Willy's numbers in the pouring rain and criticize him for not being productive and then when someone pointed out that he was playing in a torrential downpour, you ignored it entirely. Then the next day, when talking about Brohm's performance in the same game, you let him off the hook because of the weather even though it wasn't even raining when he played. If that's not having an agenda, I don't know what is. On top of that - I keep seeing you mention "exciting" ... is Ricky Ray not exciting? Because that's the mold Drew Willy fits into. Is he Ricky Ray? No, but he's getting there and that's the style of pro QB he is. I feel like you don't like Willy because he doesn't dance around and get you out of your seat. The most exciting thing to me is winning, I don't care how the guy gets there to do it and the truth is, Drew Willy can and will be a winning QB in this league when they give him the best possible chance to succeed (which will basically be when our OC stops making dogshit play calls)
  5. I like how for all intents and purposes, you just eliminated Willy from the equation to push your agenda further ahead despite the fact that he's been equally productive to pretty much every single one of those quarterbacks. Willy is throwing touchdowns at a higher clip than Collaros and Bo Levi, he's throwing interceptions less often than those two AND Harris, he's completing a higher rate of his passes than every one of them but Harris and on top of that, his yardage per attempt is the highest of the bunch. You can keep pushing your agenda all you want, QB talent can succeed in this league in many different ways. As long as the talent is there, the production can be as well. Willy's biggest issue right now is that his play caller blows. But please ... keep telling me more about how Drew Willy is not the "right type of CFL QB"
  6. Folks blaming Brohm for that loss vs Edmonton are mistaken, plain and simple. It is easy to want to settle on a scapegoat but that is all it is. Consider this: It was raining like hell in that game and it should have been a battle of the running backs. ... which you conveniently ignored when you criticized Willy for his poor numbers, but seem to be willing to apply to Brohm despite the fact that it wasn't actually raining when he was in the game? Good grief you've got one obvious agenda.
  7. So basically not a direct quote and essentially all he's really saying is that Marve isn't healthy enough right now to get enough work in on a short week for him to start. Much ado about nothing.
  8. Care to tell us where you read that direct quote? Because going off memory, that wasn't his direct quote but seen as how you provided no source, I have no way to check.
  9. Agreed. I was all for giving the guy a chance. If he won the job out of camp, he won the job. So be it. But you can't honestly watch that guy play and think he's any good at this point. He's miserable. Boltus type levels of ineptitude.
  10. You've been harping on about Willy taking too long to throw forever now and while you're not wrong and I would like to see him speed up his progressions, you ignore the fact that he already has sped up his progressions substantially in the past year. You also feel the need to couple your justified criticism with nonsense like he takes too long between snaps (which often has shared fault and really, you're just saying this because of TWO instances), he can't get into a rhythm (he's completing 75% of his passes, so that indicates he's doing his part just fine), no ability to sustain a drive (got one of the lowest two-and-out rates in the league and has already manufactured 5 8+ play scoring drives in 15 quarters of play, which again is an above average rate) and not having the "6th sense" (which you have no clue about, to be entirely honest ... unless you're in the huddle of course)
  11. I'm too tired to even bother but that list of shortcomings is so flawed it's unreal.
  12. The thing about negotiation lists is this - players do have some rights, if they know the rules or their agents know the rules. Being on a negotiation list means you're entitled to a fair contract offer (basically league minimum). I believe that is how Fuller ended up in Calgary although I could be wrong ... but I believe we wanted to work him out before offering him a deal and he basically said "no, give me a contract offer" Now, considering Franklin was emailing teams around the league looking for a shot, I doubt that's what happened with him but yeah ... players aren't entirely without rights when they're on a negotiation list.
  13. So the loss is on Brohm? Get real. Willy has yet to score a TD vs Esks in three starts. You're not wrong about what Willy has done against Edmonton, but what do two previous games have to do with Saturday? You sure have a strange desire to go out of your way to hate on Drew Willy. I don't get why folks are blaming Brohm for the loss. That makes no sense. Willy's numbers were hardly any better through 2/3 of the game. Willy was like 7 for 17 and 81 yards. Every time Willy loses it seems like he can do no wrong. He's always aabove criticism. I don't hate Drew Willy. I'd like to see him do well. But we've given him every opportunity through more than 20 games ... and maybe it's time to admit he's just not the second coming everyone thinks he is. I guess you missed the part where Willy played his entire stint in a torrential downpour. Were you expecting great numbers?
  14. So the loss is on Brohm? Get real. Willy has yet to score a TD vs Esks in three starts. You're not wrong about what Willy has done against Edmonton, but what do two previous games have to do with Saturday? You sure have a strange desire to go out of your way to hate on Drew Willy.
  15. That's a relief but I really doubt he goes Thursday.
  16. Our play calling is quite honestly atrocious.
  17. ... James Franklin was actually added to our negotiation list by this regime in late 2013 and was on it for a decent portion of last year. All I could think about as I watched him torch us.
  18. Can't really agree with that. The talent level in Saskatchewan is REALLY low right now.
  19. Clarence Denmark
  20. In the OP it said Picard was sick today.Yes I know. Your point? It's not surprising that with Picard sick they would need another guy snapping the ball and that Neufeld would be that guy. What's with your snarky comments lately Jacquie? I was just stating a fact, that Neufeld was playing centre in practice. It's a notable development, even if Picard was sick. I know you're boycotting me, but I'm still allowed to comment as someone who has to make an effort to keep the peace around here so whether you like it or not, I'm just going to mention that I don't think Jacquie was being snarky at all and I find it very interesting that you'd take offense to her blunt, straightforward response to you seen as how the majority of your posts are crafted the same way.
  21. I've never seen a Grey Cup win, I was 1 year old the last time they won it, so I'm dying for a championship as much as anyone. Maybe I don't know what it's like, but I know what it's like to watch them lose in the finals and it's been painful. That being said, all I can ask for is for them to show progress. They're heading in the right direction and sure, you can isolate a variety of identifiable issues with the team, but no team is perfect. So far through 4 games, we're setting ourselves up well as a team that needs to be taken seriously and a team that, when at full capacity, can win on any given night. Players are getting better - Darvin Adams is slowing starting to fit it, you can see it's starting to click for the new defenders like Westerman and Bass, Willy is completing almost 80% of his passes and our OL is doing a much better job than they were last year. It looks like we're on the rise and that's really all I can ask for. I don't expect to go 20-0. I just expect us to compete and hopefully have the bounces go our way.
  22. It's absolutely insane how you can get away with that type of thing as an independent contractor for a particular type of work on a home, whether it's siding, roofing, framing, whatever but if you're the GC on a full build, the rules and regulations you have to abide by are incredibly strict.
  23. I doubt it. Hamilton is not quite as good as some people think (the last game proved it. It was a comedy of errors and if Hamilton plays that way against Saskatchewan, they're in trouble with how close the Riders' other games have been.). We should have a good shot at them. And we only lost in OT against Toronto and that one should have been a tie game. The only one I'm not so sure about is Edmonton. I think we have 1 or 2 wins in there. One problem. You guys are getting worse, not better.
  24. Aw man, no Swiston. Was hoping he'd get a shot this week, would've worked out well for him.
  25. The way it's trending, Stoudermire is going to be transitioning to receiver. He's going to get some real in-game reps at the spot before long.
