  1. I'd prefer Chiles instead of Gordon in the lineup right now. As would I but how are you going to sell a guy on coming here off an NFL stint when your best pitch is that he can start until our other guys get healthy? I'm not throwing him out there instead of Moore, Adams or Denmark at this point.
  2. I'd like to get Chiles here, but it's not really a need beyond injury replacement so I don't see it.
  3. Craighead will probably never play another snap of football. Not that that is anything against him, he's a heck of a player.
  4. Irritating.
  5. Kristian Matte was a first round pick in 2010 and didn't start until this year for Montreal. Bad pick??So, your point? We need to see what Goosen can do. What's Matte have to do with it.My point is that whether he is a bad pick or not cannot be determined this early in his career. I was using Matte as an example to illustrate that it can take time for a young Canadian OL to develop... Sometimes in the order of several years.Teams like Calgary & Montreal who used to have a strong OL can afford to wait 5 years for a draft pick to develop. Please don't compare Winnipeg's OL to the Stamps or Als. We desperately need our draft picks (especially the OL) to contribute & start quickly. We can't afford to develop a player for 5 years. So, while your point may be valid, it's difficult to apply it to the Bombers. So your argument is that to develop a great line like Calgary or Montreal, we should employ the total opposite draft strategy and only aim for picks ready to start right now? Seems counter intuitive to me. I don't know why we're even discussing this. The Bombers can't afford to wait on a draft pick for 5 years. It's a ridiculous premise. We don't have a 90 man roster where you can put project player after project player on some list getting them ready to play someday. We have a 5 million dollar salary cap & a limited roster. At some point a player has to show he belongs or he's cut because teams don't have the financial resources to spend on long, long term developmental players. And it's long before five years. The player you named in Montreal was lucky the Als gave him the time to develop as he's an exception. Most players don't get that luxury with Winnipeg or other teams. I think you're missing the point - Calgary and Montreal don't have that model because of where they are. They are where they are because of that model. You're putting the cart before the horse or however that old person saying goes.
  6. Y is it around here when someone has a different opinion good or bad people like you jump on it as trolling? This is a forum no? Or is it a kumbyas let's not breathe a word of criticism your a troll only forum? It's more a case of choosing to believe that no one could possibly be that stupid so it must be trolling for a reaction. It's not about differing opinions, it's about opinions so unbelievably stupid.Ok who gets to decide that you?Noeller? If it is someone trolling just don't react no? Is Doug Brown an idiot too? It's a slippery slope your traveling. It's the stuff of kids in the school yard. The kids that have been there the longest think it's their school yard and they get to decide what is allowed. Read ahead and you'll see the terms laid out. It's basically threats "Ban him" followed by name-calling. "Stupid", "Troll", until the poor fellow conforms or leaves. Sad really. I'm not going to get into the reasons why they are like this but it is interesting to observe how flummoxed they get when the target of their aggression stands his ground and defies them. I wonder what happens next ... You're not "defying" anyone, not are you really standing your ground seen as how you have a track record of deleting your forum account on multiple sites when you don't like how your condescending opinions are received.
  7. Yet here you are with your crystal ball telling me what I would have said if we had lost in BC. I don't deny I think MOS is a lousy coach. The way he handles our franchise QB is only one reason though. Just do me one favor, don't pack your ball and go home when this debate gets to be too much for you like last time. And before you blame it on all the personal attack stuff, you're being as condescending and rude as anyone in here. It's like we've got our very own Nic Grigsby running around here.
  8. NXT far better than WWE main roster programming lately. Sasha Banks vs Bayley was probably the best match of the weekend.
  9. Goes back to them giggling together on the sideline last week. The Stoudermire pic is still hilarious! Maybe try lightening up a little...frankly I find you a little creepy now.
  10. That's my worry too. Let's just hope Wild will make the Steelers roster even on PR. Btw, Brian Peters is a long shot to make the Vikings. Im not sure about Jalil Carter. Peters played for Ritchie Hall's D. Carter played for Mike O'shea's ST. Any of those 3 is a welcome addition. I've read conflicting reports on our cap situation this year, but the most recent had us in the range of $600k in cap space remaining. Previous had us $100k over though, so not sure how accurate those reports really are. 0% accurate. We've got millions of dollars in cap space left this year so far.
  11. I got the impression after talking with his agent today that the contract Simmons has only goes until the end of the year. Could be wrong, because I didn't ask outright.
  12. Funny no mention of being with the Stampeders. #expunged Look in the second sentence lol
  13. Weighs far less than that. Moved to end this year.
  14. If we got Bilukidi, our defense would actually start to look insane. Westerman - Bilukidi - Turner/Collins - Gibson Bass - Simmons - Randle Adams - Washington - Leggett - Johnson - Bucknor On paper that's incredible.
  15. If anyone was planning on making a last minute trip to Regina for the Labour Day game, I've got some hotel rooms / tickets available. 10 tickets available in Section 56, rooms are available at the Wingate Hotel across the street from the casino ... you'd be sitting in the same section as 45 other Bomber fans, including a number of people from this place and you're welcome to join our party all weekend long. Have 10 tickets, 2-3 rooms available so ideally I'd like to push them out in groups of 3 or 4. Face value for everything, $65 a ticket and $320 per hotel room (it's booked for two nights) PM for details.
  16. If our team is entirely healthy, the answer has to be Patrick Neufeld or Dominic Picard.
  17. I guess... I just did not envision this guy as our parachute - he's going to get massacred in an MB offence A bit surprised that Yantz really didn't get a look at all or Portis for that matter Why would either of those two get a look? This is a chance to roster a QB4 as a developmental project - we've already decided we don't want either of those guys in that role. Russell will come in as the project and compete with Davis for reps. It's not an emergency hunt for a QB1 who knows our offense.
  18. Who said that? If true, that's fantastic. Yeah I'd love to hear the source of that one, that'd be awesome if it's true.
  19. They wouldn't necessarily have to make any changes. But they could do a number of things. Could be interesting.
  20. Boom done. I like this move a lot.
  21. No waivers in the CFL anymore. Starts fresh.
  22. Stanley Bryant. Jamaal Westerman. Garrett Waggoner. Marc Dile. Sam Hurl. Darvin Adams. Dominic Picard. ... even the ones we missed out on. Marcus Ball. SirVincent Rogers. Shawn Lemon. ... I don't know if you missed it, but they DID go for the Cup. They still are. The bounces haven't gone our way yet. It's August though. Let's see what happens.
  23. Huh? Where did that come from.
