  1. You'll get more from a goalie prospect though. Morissey for Eberle wouldn't be close to getting it done. Eberle is a proven player already, Morissey isn't. Morrissey for Eberle is probably a lot closer than we think. But I agree we have to add.
  2. Errrr yeah we would
  3. I sure hope the team doesn't bank on Derrell Johnson like we are. We need at least one or two more guys that aren't on the roster today to push that spot in camp. Really drives me nuts how poor the coverage of mini camp was. Would love to know the type of perspective we get from fans who go to mini camp, not just quotes from coaches and stuff. Who looked good? Who didn't? Irving has a good eye for that stuff but my god, I think Wiecek has written about 6 articles in 3 days and I can't say there's even an ounce of football analysis in them. But if you want to hear about how the players got screwed out of breakfast, he's worth a read. We should send somebody to mini camp next year.
  4. No way in hell would I want Marcus Henry.
  5. Ladd may have played his heart out and given it an A+ effort last night but he also played like dog **** the entire series, effort excluded.
  6. Very impressive move by them to bring him in. But I can't help but wonder ... how is Desjardins going to have screwed this up? Between Price, Jackson, Williams, Ellingson and Sinopoli ... how are they going to afford to keep this together for more than a year?
  7. I want Stempniak and Stafford back. Could go either way on Frolik. Don't need Tlusty back. Aside from that, I'm not opposed to letting Byfuglien walk at this point. He's had a brutal series and I think the team is building an identity without him. I've characterized him as the "face" of the aggressive identity of the Jets, but I don't think he is anymore. I could go either way on him. I want to see them make room for Ehlers at this point. Not sure what else.
  8. I wonder if Wiecek ever takes a look in the mirror and asks himself why the Winnipeg media doesn't get respect from the football club. I bet you Drew Edwards would be allowed to interview the assistants here. I bet you Scott Mitchell would too. I feel bad for Penton. He deserves respect that he probably doesn't get because of guys like Wiecek.
  9. Can't even give the guy the respect of having his name printed in the papers correctly. Not even a typo. His name is Derrell Johnson, not Derrell Jackson.
  10. But will they want him then? Serious questions on his character now and whether he could be trusted if he decided he wanted to play again. You might be right. I imagine telling O'Shea in particular "my hearts not in it" was not a wise career move. lucky for him he has a very forgiving passport
  11. Wolf actually tried out in the NFL as a wideout too. He's a pretty mobile guy. Robinson was on Hamilton's PR last year.
  12. GM role is more about choosing wisely when you pick your supporting cast.
  13. Eddie Russ ... Interesting.
  14. Interesting. The one thing I will say is that Molstad is silly for bringing up the NFLPA. What bearing does that have on anything?
  15. Didn't they announce this guy a week ago?
  16. Without anything to go off of other than highlight tapes and online scouting reports ... I'd say our recruiting class thus far looks solid, not spectacular, although it appears lacking in a few areas. I know we always need pass catchers and I like Clemons a lot and to some extent, I'm intrigued by Hector and Logan. The group of linebackers has a lot of healthy competition but other than Wright and Benton, I'm not wowed. Seems like we have a lot of competition for the secondary which puzzles me as our depth there is solid, although with the new rules, maybe they are looking for guys more equipped to play that style. There's always the possibility that guys like Jarrid Bryant and Keon Lyn are here for the SAM competition as well - that seems fairly likely. The one spot I'm really disappointed in thus far is the rush end spot. We only have two bodies there to challenge Vega and Peach. I'm really hoping we bring a boatload to mini camp and move a couple more onto the main camp because we sure as hell need them.
  17. We really need more competition at rush end.
  18. Bombers are also signing Ole Miss REC Ja'mes Logan. Been hearing his name for a while, wasn't sure he'd end up signing but I'm glad he did. He almost made the Patriots in 2014.
  19. Looks like a lot of our new faces for the season have been signed by now. With mini camp this weekend, I'm sure we'll hear about a few more. Another thing I think the Bombers are doing that's really smart is they're holding an open tryout on Saturday at IMG Academy for prospects to "play their way" into the main mini camp. In town already, really smart move to run that tryout. Anyways ... wondering who everyone has their eyes on for the new recruits. Anyone you have high expectations for? No expectations whatsoever? I'm really curious to see REC Toney Clemons at mini camp, he's a guy I think is going to compete for a roster spot. DT Nate Collins and LB/DB Demetrius Wright are two other guys that I'm excited to see. High hopes for both of those guys. On the other side, I have a few guys - REC Tyrone Goard, REC Kashif Montgomery and DB Sam Miller - pegged as guys I'm not expecting much from. There are other guys, particularly guys like Dan DePalma, Keon Lyn and Gabe Lynn, that I think are good prospects but I just don't know where we have room for them on the team. They'll be in tough, but they're not by any means fodder.
  20. Lumbala retiring means that's two out of the last three Als first rounders that brought them nothing.
  21. I know he was exploring NFL options, that may be why.
  22. Appears to be headed to mini camp with Winnipeg (probably with a contract) - not confirmed yet, but I'm sure it will be. Played for Saskatchewan last year, actually played well when he got a chance. Had 161 yards on 6 catches for 1 TD in 3 games last year.
  23. WPG in 4 CAL in 6 STL in 5 CHI in 4 NYR in 5 MTL in 7 TBL in 7 WSH in 6
  24. Haywood was billed his entire career at 5'8"
  25. She's got a good sense of humor, I saw her at a game last year in a "Hilly Willy" jersey. Good for them
