  1. Not the biggest baseball fan in the world, but it's hard to not catch Blue Jays fever when they're doing so well as of late. Consider me on the bandwagon.
  2. There's blame to go around but I would love to hear somebody actually elaborate on how it's Drew Willy's fault. I'm not saying he's perfect or that he doesn't have plays where he doesn't do as he should, but I'd like to actually see somebody bring more of an argument to the table than "he doesn't get the ball out quick enough" - seems like such a last year argument at this point.
  3. I guess the concept of a career path that is trending in an upward direction is lost on you. What does his past matter at this point? He's better than he used to be. Just as he will continue to get better - he's not a finished product.
  4. A treasure? Jesus Christ. He threw for more ints last year than tds and this season he's thrown away a game in Calgary and been a statistical winner and on field loser in the rest. What a bizarre selection of statements to make.
  5. Bellefeuille and to a lesser extent Willy holding onto the ball too long are the problems with protection. The actual OL isn't the primary problem. Flat out wrong. Willy had guys in his face when he got the snap on numerous occasions. About the only sack he took where he held the ball for even a remotely longer than he should have was a 2nd and 20 when he needed extra time to let the guys downfield get open. The OL is the entire problem with the offense. It is abysmal and was even bad by the low standard they've set for themselves tonight. They looked like they were running different plays than the guy next to them far too often. Sorry man. You're wrong. Bellefeuille, Willy, then the actual OL (in that order) are the problems with the OL. He's actually not wrong at all. It's not the whole OL but unfortunately, you're really only as strong as your weakest link and when guys can just come up the middle through gaps that should never be left open, it doesn't matter how good Stanley Bryant is, he can't do it all. I've noticed plenty of protection calls that just make absolutely no sense, so the blame doesn't end with the personnel on the line - my favorite was the one where the entire OL slid to the right on a play action where Willy rolled out to his left - but the Picard/Neufeld combo has been leaving guys free up the middle WAY too often. Nothing more frustrating than watching us run a double tight set to allow extra protection, only to have Hamilton rush 5 and see Laurent or Hall come up the middle untouched because Picard is busy double teaming a guy who has already been taken out of the play.
  6. LOL. Did Mack even know Greaves existed? Considering Mack drafted him late as a DL, recognizing his potential as an OL project, I'd argue that Greaves was probably Mack's smartest pick during his entire tenure, right up there with taking Henoc over Scott Mitchell. If only that's how it actually went down. The true story is far more hilarious.
  7. JFG and Bryant back practicing today. Curious to see who gets the first team REC reps.
  8. All I know is I'd rather be sitting here talking about Andy Mulumba as a pipeline pick as opposed to wishing Steven Lumbala would come out of retirement or Corey Watman would become useful. And I know I'd rather be looking forward to the potential of Christo Bilukidi as opposed to wishing Billy Peach, Matt Norman or Bo Adebayo would suddenly wake up one day and be good football players.
  9. 2nd time he's been in the top 3 this year, 1st time he's been the outright winner. If I understand it correctly, I think he's now in 2nd place for some kind of Top Performer of the Year award behind Trevor Harris.
  10. No way Gable plays this week. Fantuz? Probably.
  11. SJ Green
  12. He's following the same path as Henoc did as far as progression goes and to be honest, he looks good doing it.
  13. I'm the farthest thing from a fan of Moore's but to suggest that one game of slot from Veltung and an on and off season from Adams who doesn't even play the same position is reason to cut Moore next year is a stretch.I'd love to see Walters actually bring in players to challenge Moore and perhaps Veltung is a start but let's not jump to conclusions. I'm not pumping either of these guys tires... I'd sign a proven SB to be honest. Just saying, you can't gameplay with a receiver that you know is going to be out 2/3 of the season. Out two thirds of the season? He's missed one of six games this year.
  14. The reason Bede isn't Canadian is because he started playing football in the U.S.
  15. Thread title had me thinking this was a spam thread from a bot at first.
  16. Picked this one out because I felt it's worth mentioning the Bombers are one of the best teams in the league in the red zone.
  17. Strikes for all who didn't pick Darvin Adams!
  18. Your two faced behavior always brings a grin to my face. Formula to being Duressler: Step 1: visit MBB, bash RF Step 2: visit RF, bash MBB Rinse, wash, repeat. Oh and I'll pick Darvin Adams.
  19. According to official club Twitter. Thank god.
  20. Very good point. I read recently that the Bombers are projected to finish the season ~$100-200k over the cap. Obviously that'll change with some creativity by Walters, but we're there already. Doubt it. We paid a LOT of money out under the 2014 cap last year. Nick Moore is hardly making anything on the 2015 cap, for example.
  21. Agreed! I don't know about you, but TD's get me out of my seat .... Willy can throw deep, accurately, something we haven't had in years! Yeah, I thought two of the three longest touchdowns in the league this year might be exciting but that's just me maybe.
  22. And yet, if we win Thursday, we'll be ahead of them in the standings so again I ask - what are you looking for? Get out of your seat excitement? Or winning?
  23. I guess if wanting to see the Bombers finally start to win is an agenda, then I have an agenda. It's pretty obvious you have an agenda. You're not quite at the point of making stuff up, but whenever Brohm is brought up, you make excuses for his lackluster play and whenever Willy is brought up, not only do you downplay his abilities, you go as far as padding your valid points with a bunch of nonsense just to try and get extra jabs in at the guy. I literally saw you downplay Willy's numbers in the pouring rain and criticize him for not being productive and then when someone pointed out that he was playing in a torrential downpour, you ignored it entirely. Then the next day, when talking about Brohm's performance in the same game, you let him off the hook because of the weather even though it wasn't even raining when he played. If that's not having an agenda, I don't know what is. On top of that - I keep seeing you mention "exciting" ... is Ricky Ray not exciting? Because that's the mold Drew Willy fits into. Is he Ricky Ray? No, but he's getting there and that's the style of pro QB he is. I feel like you don't like Willy because he doesn't dance around and get you out of your seat. The most exciting thing to me is winning, I don't care how the guy gets there to do it and the truth is, Drew Willy can and will be a winning QB in this league when they give him the best possible chance to succeed (which will basically be when our OC stops making dogshit play calls)
  24. I like how for all intents and purposes, you just eliminated Willy from the equation to push your agenda further ahead despite the fact that he's been equally productive to pretty much every single one of those quarterbacks. Willy is throwing touchdowns at a higher clip than Collaros and Bo Levi, he's throwing interceptions less often than those two AND Harris, he's completing a higher rate of his passes than every one of them but Harris and on top of that, his yardage per attempt is the highest of the bunch. You can keep pushing your agenda all you want, QB talent can succeed in this league in many different ways. As long as the talent is there, the production can be as well. Willy's biggest issue right now is that his play caller blows. But please ... keep telling me more about how Drew Willy is not the "right type of CFL QB"
