Well... obviously nothing applies in all cases. You can buy a cat and train it for 10 years but it will never fly like a bird. Have you tried sewing wings on?

Yeah, hoping Stafford is still in.

lol Armia already hurt. Just as he could've been called up. CLASSIC ARMIA I'm also getting a chuckle out of Floyd falling in love with Chiarot and calling Myers lazy. CLASSIC FLOYD

New Impact Players This Year: Our Scouting System

But can you fill Stoudemire's jockey shorts? Alright, there have been several "Stoudemire references" on the forum. What did I miss? And I hope I won't regret asking... Click on my avi and take a close look. The picture is small but what you'll see isn't. Or you can see the picture on his twitter account: https://twitter.com/_Stoudermire11 Great bloi-dei Dorzon's ghost! Fun fact - he's a professional gourmet chef now. -
I'd take Toston for camp competition. Always blew my mind that Saskatchewan never gave him a better look, only knock on him is that he can't catch the ball worth ****. But as a big back to chew up tough yards, I'd take him. Certainly don't want him in there as our starting RB but with the Canadian depth we've developed on defense, we may not need 3 designated imports on defense this year, leaving a spot for Stoudermire (I guess technically he's on defense) and an offensive guy.

Wonder how far behind a Sears deal is if Brohm just re-upped.

Fiddlesticks.

Teams know how to use the media as a tool to push their agenda. Some of what they say is truthful, some of what they say is out there as a smokescreen because that's the message the front office wants out there, especially around FA time and draft time. For example ... one "reporter said such and such in public" example in this thread is literally the exact opposite of what they said to me in private. And what they said in private happened. For what it's worth, I was told by a couple people today that the Bombers are out on Curran. EDIT - out on Curran could obviously mean if the price goes any higher. My guess is they've made their offer, it's not the highest offer but they'd still pay it if Curran opted to come here.

I'm going to patent "item that does something" and sue the hell out of everyone.

Fargo tryout? Surely I can fill Dan West's role! -
New Impact Players This Year: Our Scouting System
Mike replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
What I am asking, I guess, is "will our US-based scouting system going to be doing a better job than merely filling holes?" It has been a while since we’ve seen new prospects capable of becoming superstars for our ball club. I am asking what can we expect from our US scouting system, realistically, this year, that can make us a significantly better team than last year. Are our scouts any better or worse than what we find in the rest of the league? Is coming up with all-star calibre players more than serendipity? Has it? Not really. We've been coming up with studs for years. It's the depth that's been the issue. -
he did.

I'm not really sure what you're asking, to be honest. Our American scouting is hopefully going to find us players to fill the holes we have in our roster? -
Does the SI SwimSuit Cover Show TOO MUCH?

"We can do whatever we want unless what we're doing is something that can be viewed as exploitation in which case it's sad that we think we have to do that unless we want to unless we want to because a man told us we want to" #yesallwomen -
Brohm signed.

Everyone keeps saying this but the reality is that he could play for the Sabres, it just made no sense for them to do so.

Myers is a machine. Just wait until he gets comfortable. Sounds like Armia is getting called up. He's not on the ice this morning in STJ.

you can't develop a QB without giving him playing time. If it wasn't for Brohm getting injured last year, Marve probably wouldn't have seen the field at all. That's absolutely false. Especially in the CFL. Care to explain that golden nugget of knowledge, Mike? Drew Tate is a perfect example, although you can easily blame Saskatchewan for letting him go. They sat him on the practice roster for two years before he ever took a snap and he was much more effective with his initial repetitions because of it. Darian Durant is another one. In his first two seasons in the CFL, how many snaps did he take? Two. Same with Mike Reilly - two snaps in his first two seasons. I bet if you were to ask them how much more comfortable they felt because of their time developing without game reps, they'd tell you it sucked to not play but it was well worth it. An American QB is coming to a league where there's a wider field and an extra man, among other things. It's invaluable for a QB to be able to get a chance to soak it all in. Let them work out their kinks in practice reps. Ideally, I wouldn't have my developmental QB take much more than a handful of reps for his first two years. It doesn't always work out that way because of injuries, etc but that'd be the goal. Too many QBs ruined because they get rushed.

Riders out of Curran sweepstakes, according to Vanstone.

What on earth makes him seem cocky to you? The fact that he said med school was a serious option for him? That's not cocky, that's honest.

Cornish is good but I want to see him get the yards w/o Jones and Bryant. IMO....he won't. Lavertu is a stud. They won't skip a beat at center. Craighead's back at guard & Harrison is no slouch at tackle. He's started plenty of games in the past. The Stamps OL has lost some depth but their starting 5 is still very, very good. I don't care how good Lavertu is, he's not an equal replacement for Jones.
-
You're both right, he was healthy for half the year.

Gimme Matt Calvert, Daniel Winnik or Sean Bergenheim in that order.
