  1. Bona fide Me First football player too. Pretty pathetic display during the GC & afterwards. #gottagrowup Get used to it. Its the 21st century athlete ...Our boy Toews says hi.... I wouldn't be so quick to anoint him a golden boy. He's not the nicest guy either from a lot of accounts.
  2. I don't really think it passes for confirmation at all, seen as how he favorited my tweet about coming back to Winnipeg as well yesterday. But that being said, he's clearly resigned there.
  3. If all of a sudden Bilukidi or Mulumba fall in our lap, we're laughing. Anybody know how likely that might be? I haven't heard much, but wasn't one of them outta PR time...? They both are, which means the clock is ticking. The odds are in our favor of them being on our roster (both of them) by 2016 for sure. Bilukidi probably first. His games played numbers have dropped every year - from 13 to 7 to 4 and he's recorded 10 tackles in 3 years. His PR time is gone. He's going to be a fourth year player, which means he's roughly 200k more expensive than a rookie who can probably offer a similar impact.
  4. If all of a sudden Bilukidi or Mulumba fall in our lap, we're laughing.
  5. An offensive line of Bryant / Greaves / Picard / Wojt / Daniels next year would be a big improvement.
  6. Nothing I've seen to indicate he wouldn't be back.
  7. REC Toney Clemons out of Colorado (former 7th round pick in 2012) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5ZlTljJXjw DB Demetrius Wright out of USC (we knew about this one) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4284CpsLVcw
  8. I guess this basically summarizes... but I'm wondering if Rids can provide a comparable or where he projects to be drafted?? Too early to judge where to place him in the draft, I need more info. He's got a lot of options as he originally went to Penn as a DL and played as a freshman there. Transferred to Michigan State and also shifted to offense. As a blocker he's a throw back fullback. Makes great plays on the linebackers to open up running lanes. If a coach was interested in running a big formation especially in red zone moments he'd fit right into that. On the plus side I'll have an interview with him in the Guide. If he goes to the combine, it'll be a good opportunity for him to show where he fits best. The Bombers need a guy like that though, Pontbriand is getting up there in age.
  9. Looks like Kane had a date with the Roxy.
  10. Wojt is better than Neufeld by a considerable margin, imo.
  11. You can see from the tape that he's got a LOT of work to do. He's way too much of an unfinished product to work at the collegiate level right off the bat. The plays he's making are plays being made by running backs with poor vision for the most part. If you run away from him at the line, he's not going to catch you. He's also being tied up by guys giving up 100 pounds to him way too often. The thing he has going for him is that he's apparently got a great attitude. If he lets them, Dobie and his staff have a good shot at shaping him into a great defender. OR the alternative is that he converts to OL.
  12. The crazy thing is he's actually slimmed down. He used to weigh 380.
  13. Brett Jones would be a great signing for some team, but I can't see him being a Blue Bombers target with Picard already here and Goossen in the pipeline.
  14. Some guys just want to test free agency. Makes sense, they want to get paid. Especially as an American with limited earning potential up here. As for a right guard ... nothing wrong with Neufeld, but he's a bit injury prone. It's important, in my opinion, to have guys to push guys for internal competition and Wojt (less so Eppele) is a difference maker when healthy.
  15. Top 10 free agents out there still if I'm Walters: 10. Greg Ellingson - Could be a very thrifty move to upgrade the WR3 spot in our offense. 9. Joe Eppele - If he's interested in continuing on with a football career, Eppele would be an immediate contender to earn reps at RG in 2015. 8. Sam Hurl - Depth Canadian who Richie Hall will be familiar with ... may be given an opportunity to earn more reps in Winnipeg. 7. Johnny Sears - He may be a current Bomber, but in one week he'll be a free agent and he's still a priority to bring back if willing. 6. Brad Sinopoli/Sam Giguere - You can go with either receiver in this case, both are suspected to be looking east of the Manitoba/Ontario border for employment close to home, but if not, could be a solid add as a starting Canadian 5. SirVincent Rogers - if the other option is off the table at LT, Rogers would be a great add to our line. An immediate improvement at the most important spot in the trenches. 4. Ernest Jackson - Built in chemistry from their days at the University of Buffalo, you can believe Drew Willy would be thrilled to have Jackson as the third import receiver in our offense. 3. Greg Wojt - Right guard was a position of inconsistency for us last year and if Wojt can return to the form he had as a starter in 2013 coming off injury, it would be a strong move to improve the offensive line. 2. Taylor Reed - Kyle Walters actually gave Reed his start in the CFL - could be a good bet to return back to Winnipeg in the middle of Richie Hall's defense. 1. Stanley Bryant - Probably pound for pound the best offensive lineman in the entire CFL, he's a 28 year old import who is just hitting his prime and has been the model of consistency since entering the league. He's been overlooked by many fans around here because he's not Canadian but he would have the biggest impact on our franchise next year for sure if he became our left tackle. Honorable mention: Rennie Curran, Nik Lewis, Spencer Watt
  16. Tough to say, he hasn't really played much. When he was healthy and a lineup regular, he was an elite import OL.
  17. Lol Stanley Bryant is gon get PAID.
  18. Without going into much detail, I don't think you'll ever see Colin show an interest in coming over to this site.
  19. Literally one of the least egotistical players in the NFL.
  20. Meh, Miles doesn't have the best reputation with Rider fans. With Knox here as a DB coach, I'm not sure where Miles really fits in. Could he land here as a defensive assistant? Maybe. (Don't get me wrong, I still want him here. I just don't know if it will happen and I don't know if he's really as good as we think he is.)
  21. Or you know what else works great? Reporting him if you think it's a duplicate account, so we can look into it without having to also go and crop out the dozen posts of complaining about it.
  22. What figures are you using? I would think the Bombers would be closer to $800,000 for those four. Does anyone know how much money was moved to 2014 from 2015 when Moore restructured his contract? Either way, if we use your estimate, there's a big difference between $900,000 and about $1.1M that is the estimated salaries of Durant, Labatte, Getzlaf and Dressler.Well, I said "close to", but these are the figures I'm using:Willy: $300,000 Picard: $195,000 Moore: $185,000 Denmark: $170,000 That's a total of $855,000. Not hard to argue that those 4 Riders are simply worth more. I was just wondering. It was reported that Willy's base was $250,000 when he signed. I think you're low on Denmark. When he signed an extension it was reported he was one of the highest paid receivers in the league. The wild card is how much of Moore's salary was moved to 2014. My guess for a total was around $820,000 so we weren't too far apart.Personally I think Getzlaf is overpaid. We'll have to see if Durant is worth $400,000 this season. He wasn't playing very well before he was hurt last season. I didn't see any reports on Denmark being one of the highest paid WRs in the league and I believe Penton reported Denmarks contract is worth less than Moore's AAV of $185,000. I can't remember if it was top 5 or top 10, but it's one of those two. Prior to the Green / Dressler signings, of course.
  23. There is no way we get Heenan. We would have to GROSSLY overpay for SK to let him go -- he's a local boy, old man is a Riderdouche, blah blah. He wants to go to the NFL. Or play in SK. I would like to say take a huge run at him to get SK to burn a bunch of cap money to keep him, but they dont follow the cap anyway so whats the point? I love the CFL and defend it up and down. But the way the cap is treated makes me think it needs a serious cleansing "IF" the CFL is serious about their salary cap rules they should occasionally conduct an official audit of suspicious accounting to keep teams in line. I nominate Mr. Taman and his "numbers-by-napkins" system as a likely benefactor of this program. The sickening smell of fudge is beginning to waft across the prairies and it's only February. That's a good point. Does the CFL conduct audits or is it all based on the honor system? Of course they do audits. Every year.
  24. That's interesting.
