  1. PS I meant Western Semifinal. lol And if you have to ask the question about the weather, you have doubts about our backups. Doubts about the backups = get the improvement.
  2. Here's a hypothetical. Eastern Semifinal - Winner moves on, Drew Willy hurt but back the following week. Who do you want playing? Marve or Kevin Glenn?
  3. If this were 2011-12 I would agree with you. 2015 KG not so much. All I'm saying is a year ago a lot of guys were happy to pick up Burris LOL. KG at the right price (150-175k) wouldn't be so bad. Do you really think marve or portis is going to perform better than kg? For a CFL back-up? No way that's a good deal. It's definitely not a bad one. Isn't that what Willy makes? Willy makes more than that. And Willy is a low end salary QB at this point. Hell, Dinwiddie was making about 150k when he was here I believe.

  5. I just can't get behind this argument. "What's the point? If he's playing for us in November, we're screwed" Same goes for Marve or Brohm.
  6. If there are concerns about length, I'm sure Troy Stoudermire would be a capable fill in.
  7. Bombers back in on the bidding as per Kirk Penton Alouettes in, but not feeling like they're in the right price range as per Herb Zurkowsky
  8. All I can think about when I hear Rod Black talking about Giguere ...
  9. No idea what you're trying to imply here?
  10. Envisioning Glenn in November is envisioning the worst case scenario. If we're dealing with the worst case scenario, we're likely ****ed anyways. The upside to Glenn? Being able to stay in the playoff race if let's say, for example, DW got hurt in July and was out until Labour Day.
  11. Would love to see us sign Kevin Glenn just to watch the fans react so negatively to a move that would actually be a very wise addition.
  12. So I'm assuming Knox = LB? Nice.
  13. No doubt the Riders have gotten worse, though, in my mind. Their Canadian situation is a bit questionable. But so is ours and we think we have a good team, so let's just wait and see I suppose.
  14. Meh, I'd say moving from Foley and Kilgore (or whoever they had at MLB) to Emry and Hall is a big upgrade. Other than that, they've retained depth similar to what we've brought in because we didn't have it in the first place. Let's see how things keep unfolding, though.
  15. Love how Grigsby is getting zero attention in the media.
  16. Federkeil cracks me up. He's giving Calgary an amazing deal on his salary because he's got all that NFL pension money rolling in. Must be nice for Hufnagel to operate within a budget where he's got an all-star Canadian RT for the price that most teams have to pay special teamers.
  17. Good for Miles, always liked him.
  18. super happy for the guy. I know he's busted his ass to get ready to play again.
  19. The reality is that we don't have a single Canadian worth being a full time starter on defense right now. What we have is a stockpile of Canadians who can take a limited and controlled amount of reps in order to manage the ratio via committee. I'm sure we'll see Newman at WILL, Hurl at MAC, Thomas at DT, Sherman at S, Bucknor and Jones at the corner all taking meaningful reps this year. But not a single one of them will likely be asked (outside of MAYBE Bucknor) to be an every down player.
  20. He didn't. He said the best two Canadians out of the group of talent they have will be the ones that start.
  21. DE - Anderson - Turner - DE Hurl/Newman - MLB - OLB Bucknor - Johnson - Leggett - Washington - Randle Would be my current guess.
  22. How does this work for someone like Armia? What years are we burning? Sorry I'm a noob at NHL contract stuff.
  23. And apparently I'm not the only one. It's pretty easy to tell just by looking around the stadium on game days that the away jersey sells like **** and the royal blue is the most popular. But if you still can't tell, a quick viewing of the Bomber Store website confirms it. 34 items in the jersey section. 18 of them are royal blue. 11 of them are the standard current blue jersey. Only 3 of the beige abomination, followed by 2 of last year's Signature Look. It's pretty obvious that the royal blue is the most popular. Not to mention it's not linked to an era of futility. Just make the change already.
  24. Boudreax is still a free agent I believe. He isn't signed as far as I've heard. He'll be announced in Calgary shortly.
  25. Yes, the team does listen to the fans. And yes, we do monitor forums, mostly to make sure we can dispel false information that's being spoken about as fact. However, first off, it's not a decision made by the "Marketing department" to change the uniform colors. Secondly, yes, we are well aware that a segment of fans wants the team to go back to royal blue full time. Thirdly, it's not as easy as just "deciding" to make a change and then doing it. There are far more factors that would go into a move like that than just making a decision a couple of months before the season and swapping jerseys. It would have to be approved at a variety of levels, and then there would be a substantial cost to switching over all of the team gear, down to the most minute pieces of equipment. If a color scheme switch is going to happen, it's a decision that's made thoughtfully and carefully at higher levels than just the "Marketing department", with consideration given to all of those factors and many, many more. Yes, the royal blues are gorgeous and we know a lot of fans love them. But to suggest the team isn't listening to its fans, or that we "know best" as you put it, just because the royal blues haven't been brought back as the primary jersey is a terribly unfair characterization of the situation when there is substantially more to it than that. But thanks for your input! I'm sure we all appreciate the explanation, but if the club was really paying attention, you wouldn't be talking about a decision that had to be made a couple months before the season started. The fans have been calling for the royal blues ever since you first released them. Personally, I'm just tired of being the Beige Bombers on the road.
