  1. No fight credentials is a lot different than no athletic credentials. No fight credentials is absolutely accurate. No athletic credentials (even with the caveat of "outside of pro wrestling") is not really a fair statement.
  2. It may. But who knows if we had THAT much cash laying around. The real idea is that you spend a bit now (whether it's 2014 + 2015) in return for the three years of control. With a minimum contract being one year now in the CFL, you're going to pay for extra years. Good point. You don't really hear about this much anymore but it struck me as Walters has been signing guys early. Tamen used to do that a lot didn't he? Taman used to do something similar, although most guys were only signing 1+1 (which was effectively a 2 year deal, always hated that 1+1 term) deals back then. If I had to guess, Walters is offering one thing to guys who are signing deals similar to Leggett - more money in their second season of the rookie deal. In return for the immediate raise that they are not owed, Walters is asking for term. As long as he's reserving it for the guys who deserve it and isn't handing it out to every Kenny Mainor, EJ Kuale or Brandon Stewart, it's very smart GMing.
  3. Well that's just simply not true. Please list his legitimate sports work. He has trained but not for a fight. My brother is a brown belt but he's not fighting MMA. I'm not disputing the fact that his training has been limited. I'm disputing this idea you put forward of him having "zero athletic credentials". Punk doesn't train or roll with guys in the Gracie camp often enough to worry about working his way up the ladder through the belting process, but read anything Rener Gracie has said about him. Punk has been rolling for years now, he's got a solid BJJ base to work from. If Punk had wanted to test for belts, he'd be further up the chain than he is now. His biggest issue is the fact that he's probably going to get taken down at will by anyone with even an average wrestling background.

  5. Well that's just simply not true.
  6. Huge signing. Leggett is a stud.
  7. Can't wait to see Oregon against Florida State.
  8. Wheeler is playing awful today
  9. Awful play by Kane but the fact that Stoner can bare knuckle pummel Kane while Vatanen holds him down and only get two minutes is bullshit
  10. Can't believe that Beleskey goal got waved off.
  11. I think you got my point. If not I suppose I could type it out really slowly. But generally to the point Buff as a trade has greater value to the jets future than he has now. Potentially. You can never know for sure. Law of diminishing returns versus value you get back in trading high. Not difficult concept. Seriously zero point to you being as condescending as you are in almost every thread here. Stick to your opinions and cut this other BS out.
  12. I don't understand this. Why do you continue to push your agenda re: Byfuglien being traded when you've made it clear that it's not up for discussion? You're not going to change your mind. We get it. You want to see Byfuglien get traded. No matter what.
  13. Given the fact that 29 other front offices agreed with the Jets, I'm going to say you're the one in the wrong here. If Brunner can't crack your top 6, he can't crack your lineup. Period.
  14. You definitely aren't jaded at all
  15. What often gets left out of this thought process - maybe they just have better things to do with their time than appease the fans with a pointless press conference. I'd rather they be working, myself. They had a presser at the beginning of November, and people thought it was pointless. Now the same people want the same presser, just a month later? W#ell, you'd think they'd have progressed from then, don't you think? Tell you what, fans can vote with their wallets & not go to games anymore. That'll end the talk of fan entitlement. So then do that. But let me guarantee you one thing - the fan that isn't going to go to a game anymore because they don't like the assistant coach is a unicorn.
  16. I think Montreal gets Nichols and Edmonton gets Glenn.
  17. I'm actually gonna predict Edmonton. also, technically he's been an Argo.
  18. Never would have imagined they could lock him up.

  20. If what I've heard is true, you might get your wish this year. I've heard a lot of rumblings about the fans speaking with their wallets as it pertains to our current road jersey. Nobody likes the gold primary color. The club didn't want a white road uniform, but the fans might be giving them no choice.
  21. Little bit of both. I've heard rumors of them making the switch but all the promo material that keeps coming out seems to be confirming it. They're wearing the royal blue jerseys today too at the presser.
  22. I'm pretty sure you can book it now - Bombers are going to the royal blue color scheme full time next year.
  23. Question ... how come you're not all over Brendan Taman for waiting almost a week to address reports of Cortez being let go? That's not exactly a quick resolution either. Maybe because he doesn't care about the riders? Just a guess He doesn't care about other teams but he has no problem using them as an example whenever he feels it's beneficial to his argument. Just playing the other side.
  24. I think the problem you're feeling is more about a sense of false entitlement than anything.
