One or two unannounced signings (update 1/21)
Mike replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Eliminian runs a 4.6, Bighill around 4.55. Probably couldn't run those today, but at peak.MLB 40 yard times are not really all that important though, imo Cool. Thanks. I was just curious. I don't know if they're out there, but the more interesting numbers I'd like to see are his 10 yard split and his 3-cone. -

So then you think he has already hit his ceiling? Or at least come close to it? Probably. I don't really see him ever turning into a star receiver. Which is fine, he is what he is and what he is is very important to this football team. If he can continue to be a 500-700 yard guy with consistent hands and an ability and desire to be a strong downfield blocker, he's more than welcome on this roster as far as I'm concerned.

That opens up the Hart Trophy race now. Time for Hutchinson to make his move!

Kohlert is better but he's slowly becoming overrated around these parts. He was among the top Canadian receivers in what turned out to be a very down year for receivers in general. Sub 600 yard season, only a single game with 5 or more catches. He's an above average Canadian receiver. Nothing wrong with that.

*WHEN HE'S IN THE LINEUP* Cory Watson probably starts on most teams in the CFL *WHEN HE'S IN THE LINEUP*

I liked Bryant when I heard about him earlier, he's not the fastest guy but he's LONG. Huge wingspan. But wow, Benton ... never seen or heard anything about him but if I'm forming an opinion off one set of highlights, he looks like a keeper. -
LOL Desjardins. This guy has to be one of the worst general managers in pro sports. He scouts Eric Rogers out and then cuts him, leaving him free to go to Calgary. Rogers turns out to be such an impact player in Calgary that he steals Mo Price's job. What does Desjardins do? Trade his best player from 2014 for Mo Price. LOL

Getting to that point of the off-season now ... free agent camps and scouting will be starting to pay some dividends in the form of roster additions. Jarrid Bryant, DB, South Dakota 6'4" (!) DB ... Had a short visit to training camp with St. Louis last year (same time as Deantre Harlan) Khasif Montgomery, WR/DB, Virginia University of Lynchburg 6'2" / 210 ... not really sure what this guy's situation is but he had a long weird road to finally get to pro football. He's already 28 with zero NFL experience and nothing but a Hamilton tryout a few years ago. Athletic testing is pretty impressive and he's held his own at pro days, but never got a shot. Seems like a reach. Not sure if this guy actually has a contract to come to training camp or if he's a mini camp invite though.

Gbill, your twitter bio pic shows you have a fairly square jawline. Is there something you'd like to tell us?

... what? You can't just throw out a bold accusation like that with zero evidence.Look at his head. It's a textbook HGH head.If you want to accuse him of using steroids, just say steroids. HGH symptoms are entirely different. And no, it's not a textbook "steroid head"I didn't say steroids. I said HGH. I'm fully aware of the difference between the two and symptoms/signs of each. Cornish has a textbook HGH head/face.Lol. Okay then. I'll just hope someone like BriceDream sees this and can give a far more educated response to this than I can. But no, there's no such thing as a "textbook HGH head/face" http://www.hgh.org/HGH-Effects-On-Face.html I'm still not even sure what you're implying. Are you implying his skin looks young and wrinkle free or are you implying he's abused HGH to the point that he's developed symptoms of acromegaly (which he hasn't)?His forehead and jaw show typical signs of HGH use. Okay. Again, I strongly disagree but again, I'll defer to someone who can do a way better job of explaining it than I can.

Tasker is pretty decent. Good job by Hamilton to get him back.

Hall most likely to be new DC (Now Official)
Mike replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
You're right, the best way to market the team to the public is just to send out a mass e-mail about the hiring of a new coach. Maybe they can just include it as a hidden message in the wanted ads next week. You think a presser to announce the hiring of Hall would help market the team? Really? The only folks who watch the pressers are the rabid fans who you don't need to sell the Bombers to. The 'news' papers would certainly carry the story. That's where the non-rabid fans get their info anyway. And what do you think helps build the story? A press conference. With quotes. For the story. -

Just noticed we eclipsed 100,000 posts as a community. Not bad in about 18 months. Thanks again to everyone who makes this community as awesome as it is.

Just out of curiosity ... why would an announcement affect any of that? He's allowed to start working before they make his hiring public. -

What does it even matter when they bother to announce it? Because the more it delays the more it looks that it's not a done deal. It's not a Jets gameday today, so what's the excuse now? Maybe the media is busy covering the Jets from last night still, given that it was kind of a historic evening with Perreault and Maurice. Maybe Kyle Walters is busy on the phone with Johnny Sears or Ian Wild. Maybe Richie Hall has the runs. Maybe something else. Again, it doesn't really matter. They'll announce it at a time that works for everyone. -

Drew Willy will be number one. End of story. The real battle will be between Marve and Brohm for second string.

Just so everyone can stop speculating ... Hall to Winnipeg is a done deal, it's just a matter of announcing it. I thought today would be the day, but it was pointed out to me that today is a Jets gameday so I would imagine tomorrow.
