  1. My suspicion is that they want to bring Mark Washington here, but the complete fallout from BC might not happen until they hire a new head coach. They're being smart and hanging on to the guys they have now until the new coach officially says he doesn't want them. They definitely wanted Washington at some point. I tend to think their preference is Washington, Benevides, (maybe somebody else), Etcheverry in that order. They won't pursue Benevides strongly until Washington's future is decided. (just my opinion)
  2. 2013 and 2014 the Ticats had his rights, so he would be a FA. Does Bilukidi and Mulumba still have NFL PR eligibility for 2015 ? None.
  3. Do you mean Impact Testing? Two weeks ago Punk claims to have had 13 concussions, the most recently in January off, I believe, a clothesline. A stiff clothesline sucks but its not a guy throwing fists at your head at full force *trying* to hurt. One has to wonder about Punk getting cleared to fight. Punk has a lot of price, too much sometimes. But Brock was the same way. The difference is, Brock never really carried himself as a prick. Punk does. Punk is arrogant. Even in his recent podcast where he lambasted WWE, he's burying their booking (and rightfully so) but the booking he suggested was awful, but to him it was great. I think this is bucket list stuff, much like Brock and the NFL and even if Punk wins, I wonder how long he'd really do it. I mean sure, if he's winning. But that first tough loss, I question whether he'd want to bounce back or if he'd check it off the bucket list and move on. Pretty sure he meant Impact Wrestling as in it's not promising for them that he'd rather try something new altogether than switch companies within his field.
  4. If I was the UFC, I'd serve up a tomato can with a big name following. The first guy that came to mind was a guy who mouthed off about his signing. Phil Baroni.
  5. Just curious - what's the rationale behind breaking up Trouba and Stuart?
  6. Can't wait to travel through the wonderful roadways of St. James to get to the locker room not in the locker room sale. For mountains of super hero t-shirts.
  7. I think he's going to lose, but I also think he's going to surprise some people. That being said ... can you imagine the reaction if he wins?
  8. He pitched for the Cubs ... ... and the Mets. His brief baseball career was interrupted when he was suddenly drafted by the Buffalo Sabres ... ... who were thrilled with his signing until he pulled an Eric Lindros and refused to report to them. The holdout went on a very long time until he was eventually traded to his hometown Chicago Blackhawks. ..... not to mention his collegiate football career at the University of Miami.
  9. No fight credentials is a lot different than no athletic credentials. No fight credentials is absolutely accurate. No athletic credentials (even with the caveat of "outside of pro wrestling") is not really a fair statement.
  10. It may. But who knows if we had THAT much cash laying around. The real idea is that you spend a bit now (whether it's 2014 + 2015) in return for the three years of control. With a minimum contract being one year now in the CFL, you're going to pay for extra years. Good point. You don't really hear about this much anymore but it struck me as Walters has been signing guys early. Tamen used to do that a lot didn't he? Taman used to do something similar, although most guys were only signing 1+1 (which was effectively a 2 year deal, always hated that 1+1 term) deals back then. If I had to guess, Walters is offering one thing to guys who are signing deals similar to Leggett - more money in their second season of the rookie deal. In return for the immediate raise that they are not owed, Walters is asking for term. As long as he's reserving it for the guys who deserve it and isn't handing it out to every Kenny Mainor, EJ Kuale or Brandon Stewart, it's very smart GMing.
  11. Well that's just simply not true. Please list his legitimate sports work. He has trained but not for a fight. My brother is a brown belt but he's not fighting MMA. I'm not disputing the fact that his training has been limited. I'm disputing this idea you put forward of him having "zero athletic credentials". Punk doesn't train or roll with guys in the Gracie camp often enough to worry about working his way up the ladder through the belting process, but read anything Rener Gracie has said about him. Punk has been rolling for years now, he's got a solid BJJ base to work from. If Punk had wanted to test for belts, he'd be further up the chain than he is now. His biggest issue is the fact that he's probably going to get taken down at will by anyone with even an average wrestling background.

  13. Well that's just simply not true.
  14. Huge signing. Leggett is a stud.
  15. Can't wait to see Oregon against Florida State.
  16. Wheeler is playing awful today
  17. Awful play by Kane but the fact that Stoner can bare knuckle pummel Kane while Vatanen holds him down and only get two minutes is bullshit
  18. Can't believe that Beleskey goal got waved off.
  19. I think you got my point. If not I suppose I could type it out really slowly. But generally to the point Buff as a trade has greater value to the jets future than he has now. Potentially. You can never know for sure. Law of diminishing returns versus value you get back in trading high. Not difficult concept. Seriously zero point to you being as condescending as you are in almost every thread here. Stick to your opinions and cut this other BS out.
  20. I don't understand this. Why do you continue to push your agenda re: Byfuglien being traded when you've made it clear that it's not up for discussion? You're not going to change your mind. We get it. You want to see Byfuglien get traded. No matter what.
  21. Given the fact that 29 other front offices agreed with the Jets, I'm going to say you're the one in the wrong here. If Brunner can't crack your top 6, he can't crack your lineup. Period.
  22. You definitely aren't jaded at all
  23. What often gets left out of this thought process - maybe they just have better things to do with their time than appease the fans with a pointless press conference. I'd rather they be working, myself. They had a presser at the beginning of November, and people thought it was pointless. Now the same people want the same presser, just a month later? W#ell, you'd think they'd have progressed from then, don't you think? Tell you what, fans can vote with their wallets & not go to games anymore. That'll end the talk of fan entitlement. So then do that. But let me guarantee you one thing - the fan that isn't going to go to a game anymore because they don't like the assistant coach is a unicorn.
  24. I think Montreal gets Nichols and Edmonton gets Glenn.
